Are we living in a virtual reality?

No.

Of we find the end of π maybe
>>
Yes
And there is nothing you can do about it.

Enjoy your stay within the matrix. Thank you!
>>
>>702453079

Possibly, I doubt it, but possibly.
>>
Could we possibly evolve into a species that simulates it's evolution?
>yes, possibly
You're not entitled to believe this if you don't accept that we might be the simulation.
>>
>>702453079
Occam's razor says we're not.
No guarantees though.
>>
No the idea of true virtual reality wasn't intruduce till the early 70s even 80s.
The question is when will we live in a virtual reality.
The process where you can store your memories and relived them.

How do you know that all the history you think you know is not just a lie?
Perhaps the real world is super advanced, but we wouldn't know about it because they simulate us in the past.

Like in The Matrix.

Because of the past great civilizations that have come before. If to think that we (you, me, op) are in a virtual reality who's living in who's ? If you are in a VR that would mean someone is in control correct? So you couldn't be doing things you want.
>>
>>702453079
No. We live in an absurdity. There is only the illusion of order to tease us along a path of folly, ever awaiting the moment we will finally understand, and be free. Reality is a joke of a cruel God, you are a joke and everything you ever know and learn culminating to the last second you draw breath is just to set you up for death, the punchline to existence.

You're making a lot of assumptions there.
First you're assuming that I and OP are real people, not just programs in the system.
Second, it doesn't matter if someone's in control. They might just take pleasure from deceiving you, and while you are doing things you want, the world in which you're acting is all a lie.

And what does "past great civilizations" have to do with anything?

I think it's something of the sort. If it isn't VR I think its a ghost in the shell situation where our 'spirit' inhabits a physical form so it can interact with the environment. I do think everything is preordained too, so it would be very similar to a simulation if it wasnt one.

Figure so, we become infinite in that realm.

Just pure possibility, what ever you can think up you will have. We created this game called life because getting everything you want is only fun for so long. We made a game that surprises us instead. That we cannot control with just our minds. It puts a limitation on our abilities as creature of the Any.
>>
It's a really fuckin gay one if it is
>>
>>702457420
Not really, I think all the choices or actions we take are done already and that we're reenacting them. I think free will and expression are a delusion.

>>702453079
Our subjective realities are personal simulations so yes.
But the universe we share is not simulated. Merely computational so no
>>
>>702457476
I have thought this too, if you have everything existence becomes boring and predictable...

And so here we are ; )
>>
>>702457690
If free will were a delusion life would be far more predictable.

Could you offer some insight on your views? What makes you think choice does not exist?
>>
>>702457808
Do you realize what it means though? It means that there is nothing at all to worry about. You can literally live life to its fullest. No limitation on it, expect for time. When you die you just become infinite again, and you can choose to do something else.
>>
>>702453079
Yes, though probably not in the sense you mean. We experience reality in a simulated form in our own minds. It's an intetpretation of reality, and objectively limited in all kinds of ways - we can't see x-rays, we can't hear the entire range of sounds, etc. We're conscious within the simulation, but often not aware that it's not reality until something glitches out. Drugs, optical illusions and other things can remind you that you're experiencing reality through a virtual, purely biological filter.
>>
>>702458208
Do it to the fullest the first time just to be sure
>>
>>702457476
>We created a game called life because getting everything you want is only fun for so long
That's only true in the context of flawed human psychology. You can't just assume that to be the default just because it's how we mentally operate. A true VR paradise isn't just granting everything you could want, it's making you infinitely and eternally happy with anything and everything. And at that point, we're not even human anymore. But who cares? As humans we always try and fit these grand schemes into the framework of our psychology, which is biased bullshit. Our inability to fully separate ourselves from our inherent nature is ultimately what limits us. And nothing we will be able to do will be able to make that complete separation, because the action itself would require that we have already achieved that potential. It's a fundamental catch 22 of nature. Anyway enough with this philosophical bullshit, I need to get some sleep

>>702453915
ofc there is no way to prove this is a virtual reality, but for most of us who has understanding of this "system" knows something is up...

this is also the reason why freemasons exist, because they think if they believe in the "deceiver" they will also be able to get a chance to pull strings... but we all know where it ends for all of them

there are only a couple of stories of "beings" who stayed in this place and left it... and also history does repeat itself since this is hell, and you soul are trapped here forever and cannot go anywhere else, so you just decide to enter another womb and live this shit life again..
>>
>>702453079
Define virtual reality. Define reality.
you will find they are the same thing at their core.
>>
>>702458448
What does it mean to be human though? We are just pure consciousness, slowly learning the rules of the game.

Here's my take on it. The speed of evolution of computer technology means that the gambling odds of us being in a vr world like the Matrix are actually higher that the odds of us not being in one. Both are long odds but the smallest figure is defiantly 100% us being in a vr world. When I found that out much fear ensued.
>>
>>702458061
Think of it like this. This life is a long movie, and we assume our role whatever that may be. The movie is done already, and we're along for the ride, but for us its all new. So we do our thing but everything we do is already set in motion and the outcome is known. So if we're in this movie, we could say we had free will, and to us we would have it, but to someone who has seen the movie before, they would know exactly what we would do. I think that we come into this life and play this part so we can learn something, and we just keep on doing that in different situations until we reach our final form.

After freezing for hours, something came to me and started lifting me up out of the darkness. It started talking to me and eventually asked me about my family. I said 'fuck them, they dont give a shit abou tme anyway' and they said I wasnt ready, at which point I was dropped down and woke up in the hospital. After that I just remembered things, like from before I was born. I remembered when they came to me and told me I needed to go through this in order to learn what I needed, and that if I didnt go through this life I could do it but it would take a long time. I remembered that I basically said that if it was what I had to do I had better just do it. Then they asked me if I was ready, and when I confirmed I was lowered down, and I saw my parents having sex, and I dropped in. Life began from there. After that I knew it was all set up.

Oh I am. The thing is though, like I said, it was 20 years ago, and even when I forget it keeps getting reaffirmed. The thing about it is that when you know, you cant say anything about it, because you'll be thought crazy or delusional. That's why you'll never hear what's really going on. People just cant handle it, it goes against everything they believe and to them it makes this life insignificant. People dont like that shit.

I don't have much time, as it is late in my position of the simulation, but I will share a few words with you to clear some things up.

I am Keen K., one of the head programmers at ATLASoft, an organization in the real world who is pushing virtual reality technologies to their limits.

You are one of many who were selected to access the late stages of our alpha software, Project Yggdrasil, or code name "Yggdra" for short.
The "reality" that you are living is all a part of this simulation, but we can assure you that your body within the real world is in no risk of harm--even after the long period of use of Yggdra.

Our original intentions were to have our current users retain awareness that they are merely testing a virtual reality, however there seems to be a bug in our system at the moment. Our technicians and programmers, such as myself, are working hard to fix this ongoing issue. We have had problems contacting the masses and have ultimately decided it would be best to let them live their "lives" until the problem is fixed, but we have been granted permission to remind small samples of users that it wont take much longer to buffer out these issues.

Thank you for understanding.

I got bit by a mosquito around 2010, felt like my body fell asleep except the center of my chest, felt weak for three weeks I bled out of my gums/teeth and felt better.

Both time when I was on the edge of death I saw a black and red plane which stretched out forever, and heard a high pitched ri nging which got louder the longer I was there I pulled through though obviously, without injury either. In fact after the mosquito I rarely get sick and after being ng electrocuted electricity doesn't effect me as much.

Yes. Figure that is how you return to infinity.
>>
>>702465784
Not if your using a fractal system.

Everyone I have seen or read about who has do he that has come back.
>>
>>702466961
I've come close but never broken through, I had to say though it's like opening your eyes in another place, makes you wonder.

Mandelbrot sets essentially

Mathematics and geometry have not been fully utilized yet

>>702467387
You will see in a 360 degree view. At least that happened to me.
>>
>>702467466
I get the feel that we are gonna re-simulated our reality using these concepts.
>>
>>702467527
How many times have you done it?
>>
>>702467658
Video games, yeah. Either we are a simulation creating a simulation or we are real and we beginning to create the first.
>>
>>702464353
It doesn't matter how powerful the computer is. It can't calculate infinite numbers in a finite amount of time
>>
>>702468405
Time is just an illusion. Its a construct. Everything is infinite.
>>
Even if we are, theres no way out so enjoy your stay
>>
>>702467841
Hm. 6-7 times, only 20-30mg max dose.
>>
>>702468578
Time is an illusion created by the motion of objects in relation to one another to be precise.

>>702468405
In the future 'quantum' co outing could theoretically calculate multiple infinite nu Ber sets instantaneously. Time will tell....
>>
>>702468044
What we create first ? Simulation, computers, A.I., that will be our first 'creation'. This is our only way to create life with a spirit for us and thus reaching our creators. Finally when you consider this its pretty logical if we are in a sim, so we recreate sim, and some think it would end us like terminator...ironic isn't it. Or creepy
>>
>>702468936
Computing* damned auto correct
>>
>>702468667
I've done it 11 times, I didn't have a scale but about the size of a matchstick has been my reference point. I tried freebase pipe and it works well but it's so hard to get that third hit in. What did you use?
>>
>>702469099
The best method I've found so far. You cut out the bottom of a 2L bottle, you then use aluminum foil as the bottom and place your substance at the bottom. You then tape it together and try to get it air tight. You can then take it all in one breath.

Its an interesting train of ideas to consider, and something we will face in time whatever the outcome may be.

We are essentially immortal anyways so... do your best without fear.
