You should use a normal bong, (type "roor bong" to see a proper, expensive bong. You don't have to use that brand, but the designs work) then you have to use a meerschaum (or wood) head to your mix, which is bascially this:
You 0.2-0.5g of your hash (depending on the quality) to a cigarette, meaning you pick small tiny pieces to go with the tobacco. Before you mix any of the weed with the tobacco, you need to take some foil paper and roast the tobacco (back and forth under fire) free from nicotine and other additives - then, while it's warm, you pour the hash into the tobacco on the foil, roasting for about 5 seconds, then pour it onto a folded piece of paper and mash the soft warm hash into the tobacco. Press the head (pic) onto the tobacco and it will stick. Light the bong. = economic as fuck.

I've tried a bunch. apparently on an empty stomach the edible high is my psychoactive, but the couple of times i've done it on an empty stomach i've felt the edible wear off pretty quickly, as soon as 3-4 hours.

This is how I smoke it.. my bong is a little weary right now though. It saves me alot - the amount of hash I use for a joint (0.6-0.9g) can be spread out on a whole day where I can get 10 times as high if I want.

I've been smoking weed for about 9 years and never done anything else but around 5 months ago i did LSD.

I have access to high quality sticky hash, just my hand's warmth softens it, so I usually just roll into a very thin 'snake' of hash, mixed with maybe some grains of bud or strands of tobacco (ya heard me, deal with it -- though I use the mildest tobacco I can, and never use more than 1:3 or so ratio) and add it to my joints. There is an art to doing this in a way that won't waste your hash (because as others have mentioned, hash tends to burns fairly fast), but if it's done right it doesn't burn any faster than the rest of your joint. Basically don't just put any of the hash 'snake' in the first 1/5 of your joint.
I don't bother with bongs. There might be 'better' ways, but this way has always worked for me no problems.
