I had to replace the water pump on my suburban a couple thousand miles ago. I'm not too worried about the engine as I am the transmission. It has the hard 1-2 shift that jolts the truck except under hard acceleration, something to do with the computer defaulting to the hardest shift for that gear only. I don't know if it damages the trans or not, all I know is it sounds raggedier and raggedier the more I drive it. It's not worth anything so I'm going to drive it into the ground but hey it's mine

I'm going to come into about 13,000 dollars in the next couple of months and plan on getting a new-ish car. I love Challengers and would ideally grab a 2011 and up manual R/T if given the chance. Is the V6 even worth going for? I love the sound of a V8 engine and I feel like it would be a huge let down for me. Save that money until you can afford the 2015 challenger or up. The tranny is a piece of shit before 2015 on all models. The new 8-speed auto shifts better than a human can in a manual, and it's super reliable. Also the 3.6 V6 is nothing to sneer at. They have a good thing going and they're raking in profits. The Camry is a prime example, to my knowledge, it's still built on a platform based off a 20 year old design.

Seems that way. I think that Japanese makes are going more for luxury now over sport. The problem with the Supra and RX-9 is that it'll become more of a high end sports car with a high end price. No longer affordable. Plus, I don't see the big deal with rotary. Complicated and unreliable. Pistons do it better.
Honda is bringing out the Civic Type R which is pretty badass. Too bad America won't get it. Instead what will probably happen is the new Civic Si finally getting a turbo and it will be a detuned version of the Type R engine.
