itt: god-tier metal albums
let's start with the low-hanging fruit
When it's cold and when it's dark, the freezing moon can obsess you
i feel like that would sound like a very shitty metal album if you did that, not to mention you'd destroy the instruments in the process
not a metal album, but it's still very good in its own right
Used to listen to this when at school so I could get away with listening to Metallica. Saw them a few months ago and their tour drummer got hurt so they played this whole album instead of their newer stuff. 10/10.
people who say Ghost aren't metal care too much about genres and not about the music
Why do you keep memeing this shitty, normie metal album as God tier? The weeb drummer and solos are the only good thing about it. the lyrics are really cringey even for Megadeth.
was never a big Anthrax fan, but i respect what they've done and like a few songs off ATL/Spreading the Disease/State of Euphoria
because quite a few people love this album. you're probably in the minority, frankly, but it's all subjective.
it was me, the OP. Traced in Air is pinnacle prog and i definitely enjoy it more than Focus.
i prefer Last in Line myself, but you can't go wrong with any Dio album
Any folk metal fags in here?
my friend's obsessed with Korpiklaani, so it's rubbed off on me a tiny bit
probably the first metal album i ever listened to in its entirety
same friend also introduced me to Finntroll and Tyr, but not Moonsorrow
Any anons here from last night's thread?
Listened to Baroness' "Blue" enjoyed it quite a lot.
I don't know how far on the black metal spectrum you're willing to tread, but this album slays.
OP here, was in last night's thread. also, you and i posted the same Annihilator album, hahah.
Top album of 2015
i'd be hard-pressed to decide between STWoF, Never Neverland, and Alison Hell to be honest
They were fucking excellent at Bloodstock as well.
Whoever posted pic related in the last thread, I salute you
Most influential band to come from Liverpool since the Beatles.
Heartwork is an ace album. I wasn't overly sure on Surgical Steel when it came out, but it's grown on me so much - Probably my favourite now, to be fair.
i actually got into Swansong way before Heartwork and Surgical Steel. i put both of them above Swansong now, maybe along with Necroticism, but every Carcass album is amazing so it's hard for me to decide
>Iron Maiden's "The Trooper"
>System of a down's "Chop Suey!"
>Metallica's "One" And "Enter sandman"
>Literally anything from Megadeth
All of these bands and their songs have deep lyrics and require skill in their instruments.
Go back to dance thw whip/nae nae, faggot
Darkest Hour are so underrated. Human Romance is probably my favourite, though.
I don't know about you fuckers, but I'm so fucking stoked for the new Mutiny Within album this year. Synchronicity was fucking stellar.
i prefer this one, but Death is Death; all of their albums are dope
we all do, man. we all do.
Not posted yet, their greatest album. Judging by the steady descent since Sense of Purpose, I'm predicting this will stay their best.
i'm fairly certain someone would probably kill you for saying that
I'm sure, yes. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, mine is that In Flames at its best was Reroute to Remain, Soundtrack to Your Escape and Come Clarity. Sense of Purpose and Sounds of a Playground Fading were decent as well. The newest two albums are utter shit. while their first five were "getting there" with Only for the Weak being the only song pre-R2R I have on my playlist.
where the metalheads at?!?!?
i'm here, fam
your posts are making it seem like grade school
I know this isn't some anon's type of metal, but a pretty killer album
posting the non-black album cover so as not to be confused with the copycats metallica
this is metal and don't tell me its not
you elitist fucks
Got into In Flames with Come Clarity and was actually the first metal album Ive listened to. But I gotta say, their older albums are so much better in my opinion. Not saying that their other stuff sucks, not at all, but Lunar Strain or Whoracle are just so good albums.
admittedly same here, but it's all subjective so whatever
Arbiters of the Apocalypse makes me nut every time.
Anybody like prog? Check out Thank You Scientist. Shit name but great band.
Gonna shill for this band I just found today. Shit is like Nile + behemoth.
fuck off dennis
nobody loves you
you the OP from last night's thread?
i'm not dennis
Kreator is one of those bands every metalhead seems to love, but i can't get into them too much
or maybe you'd like dennis
dennis a huge faggot
does he buttfuck other men?
you're free to post some
well, this is the first time in the thread i forget to attach an album to my post. i have failed as an OP.
You know as I'm browsing a thread like this I like to see what the replies are to each album. Mass reply faggots like you really fuck it up by making me have to keep a mental note of what post number to ignore. Please fucking kill yourself along with whatever shit opinion you bring to the table
this thread is great because Lightning is as good as if not better than Puppets but in /mu/ everyone just shits on Metallica for some weird death metal garbage
it's because Metallica is too "normie" and not "patrician"
Trips confirm, this thread is great and /mu/ has shit taste. Posting album.
god-tier metal threads are always, always great
I will actually bodyslam anybody who disagrees with this.
Having a metal thread and not have one of the best metal bands on here, you degenerates have no taste.
Wtf people are actually posting good shit this time around. I'm always the one posting Opeth/Cynic/Carcass. Oh well, I don't think I saw this up here.
gotta love old school DM
Ooooohhh checked motha fucka now yall got to square up! Shit gonna be tight!
That's my nigger impression. Fairly "on point" I would say.
I-I was just trying to make a point, anon!
Finally some decent shit being posted itt
