What knife do you EDC?
Usually carry one of these guys.
usually this little guy and maybe one more for backup
Two more knives, the karambit is an EDC because it has a pocket clip and the blade isn't as curved so it's more of a utility knife.
The kukri I got for free.
This is mine. Pretty good deal, stays decently sharp, good action and rigid as fuck. Bottle opener is a nice touch, too.
I don't mean to be the nigger that asks this question, but I have too.
Are any of you in jobs that require a knife? If you are not, do you guys carry a knife in case some wild nigger attacks you?
Yup it has the S90v thing on the other side of the blade. it was kinda scratched up when i first bought it but i just sent it back to Benchmade and it was basically brand new doesn't matter if you were the original owner they will still fix it up for free the delivery time was quick to but that's probably because i live in the same state as their HQ.
You son of a bitch. I'll fight you right now.
Can't a man be lazy as fuck in his own home, anon?
The handle of mine got a big hole melted in it so I filled it with hot glue and then wrapped it in tape
be prepeard faggot I watched soo many fighting vidyas on the youtube
Not my photo, but I've carried a Buck 110 for a little over a decade. My favorite blade. A day hasn't gone by where it hasn't seen use.
The best advice that i can give you for finding one at a pawn shop is to find the nearest decent pawnshop near you and visit every now and then it really all comes down to luck mind you that by the time that i got that knife i had been visiting 2 pawnshops regularly every week.
i got one of these blocks attached to both sides of my pants
Sorry im not a paranoid anti-social. I know everyone here is so quick to point out the meaninglessness of life, and yet youre obsessed with protecting yourself. Let it be known, if you dont work a job that requires a knife, youre a huge faggot for carrying one.
I have so many fucking blades but these are 2 in front of me
knives are not just weapons. they are primarily tools. i just started carrying one because i would find myself needing one and not having one handy. its not hard to carry a small knife and its just good practice to. pic related
Kershaw Leek. Before this I carried a Link and a CRK Sebenza.
Yeah, but I buy knives to use until I can't use them anymore, I don't buy knives to put them on my shelf, at most I will spend on a knife is $80, and BudK sells the most variety of Bear & Sons knives.
Victorinox Swisschamp for the win but maybe i need to step up to a bigger and steady blade with all the refugees here in germany...
So what do you use it for when you edc it ?
Is it like walking around and cutting off thick ropes and free people from mafia captured them
Or do you cut wild chickens and prepare dinner ? What do you use it for ?
Not OP, but I've carried a pocket knife since I was a kid, here are some uses I've found
>makeshift screw driver
>eating an apple from an orchard
>spontaneous hikes/camping trips
>cutting the seatbelt if you need to get out of a car
>smashing a window in an emergency
>using it to get into places too small for your fingers (I do this more than anything)
>digging splinters and shit out of your skin
>scraping off glue, paint, rust etc
>prying things loose
>dig batteries out of things
>open a can without a can opener
>shotgun a beer at a party
>first aid like removing clothes, cutting bandages
>trimming loose threads from your clothes
There are infinite uses for a good blade
Yeah, but I was talking more every day tasks. I've I'm hunting or outdoors, I like a fixed blade more than just a folding pocket knife
Oh fuck off, I used to carry around a butterfly knife for a few years. Stop lying to yourself, you just kinda like carrying a knife around, and makes you feel badass.
In reality it has almost 0 practical use.
I think I used mine MAYBE once or twice per month on some random small shit.
Kershaw Funxion EMT.
Have had to break windows and cut a stuck seatbelts in cars before. Got a knife that can safely do both now.
Mines all beat to shit though.
You mean this:
or the older one?
Got a 08 model from my father a week ago. Haven't had a chance to test it yet but it's definitely too big for EDC. At least for me.
You carried a butterfly knife and yet accuse others of trying to feel badass?
You can fuck off. I'll never leave home without a knife on me, haven't since I was a kid and my dad gave my my first Swiss Army knife.
Gorgeous Buck knife. I used to carry a 119 as my outdoor blade, but I generally stick with my 110 now. More portable and just as useful. For cleaning my game I've always found it to handle a bit better. But man, that stacked handle is something to look at.
I carry this, or my 3 dollar Ozark Trail I got from Walmart
I know, I did that just a week or two after I got it. The steel is pretty hard and difficult to sharpen but holds an edge pretty well. I got it shaving sharp right now. I paid about $30 for it at walmart, for what I got I'd say it was a pretty good price.
I got a Standard model Swiss Army knife. Main blade's a little rusty, though. Any tips to get it working smoothly again?
How about you carry a knife that actually has utility m8
Cool knife anon. I have been a knife collector since i was a kid. I always wanted a butterfly knife and even played with a couple. but i live in canada so they are hard to come by.
not meaning to be rude, but waste of money. couldve saved a bit more and got a kimura. dont ever buy a pin design, and dont ever buy a bali sub $100. sure, that one might last you a while, but its not a good flipper. you dont know a good flipper until you have flipped one
My EDC knife is a Benchmade RSK Ritter Griptillian in m390.
Gun is a Springfield Range Officer Compact in .45acp. full of 230gr HST's.
nah, it's still pretty small. i have no problem concealing it.
A butterfly is not a proper EDC knife, that's your problem. It's not versatile, it's mostly for show and quick attacks, not work. get yourself a nice work EDC knife and you'll get it.
Got it used, was really dull before I sharpened it
Soak in CLR for 1 hour, rinse with water, then soak in denatured alcohol for 1 hour. Rust should be gone then and no water in it from the alcohol, heat it up to 120 degrees, then drop it in oil (any car oil like 5w30 will do, or you can spend more for fancier ones) and soak it for 24 hours.
Dry off and hone as normal.
Rust should be gone, oil should have completely penetrated everything, and all you gotta do is sharpen it and reoil it regularly, and keep it clean after use.
talkin' shit on .45 nigga?
Sissipuukko is my choise for wilderness.
Pic related, it's my collection. The open MTech is my usual EDC. It was seven bucks on Amazon and it's lasted me ages. I like knives I don't have to give a shit about for EDC and nicer ones for other stuff. I also have some nice SOG and other various shit stashed all over. I hate to admit it, but I a little bit feel like Jared Leto's shitty 'edgy af' joker with all my shit around. I need to start giving them away.
You seem like you might know your Balisong shit. Where can I get one in the US? I have always wanted one, not even a nice one, just to practice on. I know I could get a trainer but that seems pointless.
Heres another one I picked up for shits and giggles. Was $15, probably overpaid for a useless dagger but i thought it was kinda cool. Dull as a rock and super fucking flimsy. Could prolly sell it to some dumbass kid for $20.
Never got people EDCing hundred dollar knives. I carry a $30 SOG from Canadian Tire and abuse the shit out of it.
Left - Swiss, mainly used as a bottle opener
Middle - "tool" knife, basically a glorified and inefficient screwdriver
Right - "stabby" knife, for the extremely rare time I actually have to cut something that requires something to be sharp (like eating steak on the road or opening other knife packaging or something).
All cheapo folders, one from Walmart and the other from the auto parts store. The Swiss has my name on it and came from the Grand Canyon years ago.
I have no good reason to carry three knives, other than they fit, they each serve a purpose, and I don't have a reason not to.
You can fuck off mate. I worked in a backroom warehouse for about a year between schooling and used my EDC a hundred times a day. Cheap management provided about 20 dull as fuck boxcutters to the whole floor. Practically everyone brought and used their own knife daily. I still carry for all the reasons >>702069656 listed, especially the screwdriver and letter opener.
I know that feeling. I used to work at a McDonald's and did all their inventory for them. They gave us these shitty "safety box cutters" with tiny little dull blades that had a guard that would stop you from using it unless you pressed three buttons at the same time and released them after every cut. Huge pain in the ass. We all just carried our own and stashed them in the office when big management (aka people who give a fuck about the rules) came in.
Nah man i bought into the hype around it and paid around 120 bucks for the pink one in op's picture, but it was black. I just think they're like no mans sky, too much hype. Honestly my plain old folding buck knife does everything i need it to.
So far my favorite, Have had a few different knives, mostly on the cheap side.
Use it nearly everyday for something had it since 2013
I have a Boker Nano, but I hate that neon green grip on it. The texture hurts my fingers.
Trying to make my own wooden scale to put on it.
How many of you actually carry a pocket knife for utility purposes, and how many of you are just autistic and this is the closest you could get to carrying a katana on public transport?
So it'll look something similar to this, if I don't fuck it all up...
If I carry then this CRKT minimalist (well not this, pic grabbed off the web, but an identical one) . maybe not a fighting knife, but really really handy for utility purposes. Also suprisingly good for wood carving.
best folder. only thing that bothers me it the lock strenght ....i saw a demolition test on YT and it broke just after like 3 smashes on the blade's spine...
The military knife of my country. That's I carry everyday in my 5.11 moab 10.
Are you one of those faggots that doesn't prepare for anything, and just always expects smooth sailing?
irish guy here think i speak for most of civilized Europe.
i dont get americans obession with one knife. like with a swiss knife you get a knife and a bottle opener and all sorts.
much more useful then one 7inch blade. plus if you get stopped with a knife you can hardly go well i use it everyday.
but with a swiss or a multi tool of any sort you can americans please tell me why you feel the need just for one big pocket knife ?
My trusty BM940. I've been hauling this for 10 years or so.
Atlantic Salt, Spyderco. Been carrying one of these for a while. Never rusts, stays real sharp.
checked them as well.
i do though i carry at least one knife on me before i leave the house even if im just going for a walk.
but its always in a multi tool or something. like i dont get the point in just one tool. like you cant screw with a knife you cant open a bottle of beer with just a knife. like wtf.
>have to open box
>better shoot it because bullets are faster
Seriously, are all Americans this fucking stupid?
I usually carry this, or my Buck 110.
Anyone else like Buck knives?
No, I'm from Switzerland. Why Canada, France and Sweden? They don't have the swiss soldier's knife, only the german and switzerland army has this knife.
Why do you carry a knife?
These are not knives for emergency situations, before you use that god-awful meme. These are to try and look tough. Yeah, like a fedora-wearing-neckbeard like you is gonna seem badass when you brandish a knife. Have fun getting shot by a drunk redneck in a bar who conceal carries when you pull that shit.
