How do you feel about the recent rise in popularity for the Flat Earth theory?
the flat earth is trash from an ignorant people.
The cell earth is the true nature of the univers
People are finally waking up. I've known it was flat for years. If you round earthers are so sure it's round go fly a plane over Antarctica and film it. Oh gee wait you can't because the government will stop you from going anywhere near it. But yeah that's just for your "protection"
It's not b8 you literally cannot prove its not flat and the only way you can prove its not just so happens to be under strict lockdown? Wow definitely nothing suspicious about that huh
There are various mathematical proofs that don't require going to Antartica. Of course, morons couldn't understand them, and that's why they believe in flat earth. Greeks knew the world was round before 400BC
Yeah because the round earth theory has soo much supporting evidence
Yes they are they are called circular planes retard
Yeah like the round earth theory?
Here's the deal: there are two types of Flat Earthers: trolls, and literal Bible interpreters. Somewhat surprisingly, we usually encounter the latter on /b/. They have the freedom to make shit up (lie) because truth and understanding are not their goals, and they end the arguments with "prove me wrong." By disavowing any science put forward and continuing to make shit up, they "win" by attrition. It is simply impossible to keep up with having to explain away the barrage of the violations of the most basic principles of geometry, math, science, and logic. They aren't interested in critical thinking or putting in the requisite effort to do the science. Proofs are tossed aside, or they may not even respond when they can't fabricate anything that would pass even their own red-faced test. They are blind to 3D visualualization. They concentrate on believing what their leaders tell them, and will not allow any sense to mar their fractured perception of the universe. There is simply no arguing. It's like trying to paint over mud. You just end up with a dirty brush.
Has pushed back space exploration and the progress of science for at least another decade.
>Incidentally, this rise in popularity coincides with Trump's popularity.
There was a serious discussion about autism on another thread. It dawned on me that Flat-Earthers (FEs) fit the description of being autistic exactly. Here are some salient extracts:
>The thing about autism is they cannot read other people, they live in their own world. So, oblivious that no one gives two shits what they have to say, they continue their monologue until you literally run away.
>Autism seldom comes on its own; usually there are other mental problems, and these can be an indicator.
For instance, they may have been in "special" classes, or disgnosed with ADD, or loved ones desperately smile and shrug off awkward conversations/situations and the autists does not recognize situational discomfort.
This behavior is particularly consistent among FE arguments:
>I really really find it difficult to change my opinions, even when the other person is factually correct. For instance, I once argued with a teacher till 6 PM over the correct, or at least effectively correct, use of parentheses. I'm still convinced I was right.
>Not all autistic people actually understand autism. They may have gotten a simplified and inaccurate description of what it is. Also, they may be so high functioning that they feel like it'd just be better if everyone was like them. Straight forward, overt, blunt. Very high functioning people often don't like to think of their difficulties as defects, but due to failures of normal people to be more transparent.
Hurr I can't refute anything he says better just call him a troll!
If the Earth was flat and the Sun hovered above it and moved in a great circle around the pole, you would see a difference in motion most marked at times of rise and set. Place yourself on the equator during the equinox. At rise, the Sun would appear somehow and from north of the equator, with movment to the right/south (following its circular path), its horizontal motion diminshing over the course of the morning. As it reached overhead (Noon) it would be moving most quickly and straight east-west. After Noon it would appear to slow down and begin its drift right (north), and farther along it loses the vertical movement (never setting) while gaining the drift to the right and magically disappearing.
That of course, is not what we see. The Sun rises due east, transits straight up, and sets due west all at a constant angular speed all along its path, which is apparently straight up, over, and down, because in this geometry you (not a distant pole) are at the center of a circle it appears to trace.
Also, a close-proximity Sun would increase in brightness from invisible at "rise" to its brightest at Noon and back again to invisible at "set" in the course of one day. The graph of the intensity of the received light would vary by the square of the distance of the Sun. This means the increase/decrease in brightness would vary most radically around Noon. Again, we don't see that. We see the Sun remain more or less constant in brightness during the day, with a good accounting (and weather-dependent) for its dimming when near the horizon due to atmospheric opacity.
So where is the arctic? In the middle?
And considering Antarctica has been circumnavigated, thousands of scientists have been there and you can pay for flights over it it's pretty obvious your wrong.
So what you're saying is that people who start following Trump go through an indoctrination ritual in which they are taught Flat Earth and deny any other theory?
b.o.b is right.
no one knows how the fuckin earth looks like and nasa is too unreliable to provide any true factual insight
This year seems to be the "Year of the Fucking Retard" for some reason; people are believing dumb shit, following dumb shit, doing dumb shit, and dying for dumb reasons.
>he didn't hold the door open for me
>gotta shoot him for that disrespect
Doesn't matter what year, but it so happens in 2016 we do have the technology to easily look things up. You don't. Your minister tells you the Bible says, "Flat Earth," and you cannot disobey your minister because he is the authority figure in your life and you're incapable of thinking on your own.
Flat earthers are a thing that confuse me greatly. We have a space station and cameras in space. What do flat earthers say when they see the cameras in space?
>it's using a special kind of lens to make the earth look round
>I should know, I was there and God told me so
Maybe they are.
>too lazy to bother learning to fly
>too lazy to walk properly
>just slide everywhere
>steal fish from whales instead of learning how to work the land
I know this is bait, but you can literally see the curve of the earth if you just get high enough off the ground.
And the reason you can't fly over antartica is because the atmosphere and environment there is heavily guarded both for scientific reasons, and to protect the ozone there.
So what keeps air in the planet if it's flat, it does have measurable density, it should press down against the plane and glide off past the circumferencing antarctica, leaving humans to suffocate and die.
While that might be a compelling argument for a simple person, you can actually buy the equipment to send a weather balloon with your own camera tied to it and get it high enough to see the earth is round. It would only cost a few hundred dollars to make. People do it all the time.
Also we can see the space station go from one side to the other, and then come back from the opposite side around again.
There's just no logical reason why I'm thinking of all the ways to prove the earth is round instead of masturbating right now.
Apparently this is the explanation. I forgot that this is a fucking idiotic idea of reality, not acknowledging things like how the sun and moon work, so apparently they're shiny balls that spin above earth. Apparently the sun has a downward facing directional, not omnidirectional light so it just shines down on certain parts of the earth. Literally denies how light and physics work. I don't know I went on the flat earth wiki and that's kind of just where they left it.
The moon appears upside down in the southern hemisphere.
Stars look completely different in different hemispheres, and appear to rotate in different directions depending on your latitude.
If the sun were moving over the earth in a circle, then it would appear to get brighter as it got higher in the sky. It doesn't; instead it appears to be the same luminosity throughout the day.
Flights in the southern hemisphere don't take twice as long.
>this is a live stream? why is the earth rotating so fast
Yes, it appears to be live. The Earth is not rotating any faster than normal. The motion you are seeing is from the ISS orbital speed (of about 18,000 mph). At that speed, the ISS circumnavigates the globe in about 90 minutes.
Its the station thats revolving quickly, not the earth rotating.
>Since the station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, it experiences a sunrise or a sunset about every 45 minutes
In order to stay in orbit, you have to move at 17,150 miles per hour, or else you'll fall and smash into the earth. It's moving that fast so it doesn't fall and smash into the earth.
That model still doesn't account for
>you can actually buy the equipment to send a weather balloon with your own camera tied to it
Oh they do this too. Ironically, they use lens tricks to hide the curvature of the Earth. Note the odd bending at the edge of this video as the balloon ascends:
Can't say I have, I don't really like cold weather
It had a short section on seasons that seemed like "sometimes the sun is closer and sometimes it is not". There is probably a section on waves but I just can't handle being on the wiki anymore
I knew the idea was fucking autistic, but this is a new level.
I'm really curious what a flat earth person can come up with to combat this point.
How do you think we have GPS? How can you explain that technology - that is very reliable and used by hundreds of millions successfully - that happens to use satellites, which we can see using common cheap telescopes and orbit in a spherical path. What kind of bullshit can you make up to explain how GPS works?
>No, it's for Antarctica's protection, it's a delicate environment.
Funny how liberals claim the earth is warming because of temperature changes in cities(i.e. where they record it). Its funny because, after 9/11 when all the planes were grounded, the temps fell by 1-3 degrees(lets assume F rather than C). Its even funnier when the fags acknowledge this fact by making it illegal to fly over Antarctica.
Photos and videos aren't enough for you?
Mathematical proof that has been known for thousands of years isn't good enough for you?
The fact that you can see the curvature of the planet if you just get far enough off the ground isn't good enough for you?
Baseball's don't travel they get thrown...yiure post implies they get on a train to the airport and book a flight to antartica but they can't because the penguin nigger government conspiracy changes all their passports from miles to kilometers and then steals the planes rims and kidnaps all the fat white women
Well there's lots of evidence it's round, but some people choose to ignore it. We've known for over a thousand years that it was round. Even if you claim ignorance to the obvious things like the seasons, the tides, the stars, the rotation, the sun and the moon, the differences above and below the equator, and all of those other things, we still have pictures in the 1960s of the earth from space.
just concrete conclusive evidence. this all seems like theories rather than facts. im not that good mathematically but i would like legit evidence for the layman
eh, who knows what really happened
Then logically, there's no reason for me to dedicate my life to worshiping said entity, is there?
But we can literally see the satelites that we put into space with our bare eyes
Flat earth shit isn't ignorant, it's delusional insanity. The level of denial you have to be in goes beyond common stupidity, it's like, actually extremely mentally unhealthy.
Think of the math needed to calculate this. They would have failed hard if they did their calculations wrong, because they were wrong about the size and shape of earth.
> gif too large
>I actually saw a video last night about it. They think they just bounce signals off the firmament. Feed your mind or something was the name of the channel
Please, oh please cite that web site so I can shred it.
... They have the freedom to make shit up (lie) because truth and understanding are not their goals, and they end the arguments with "prove me wrong." ...
When a scientist uses the word "theory", it doesn't mean the same thing as the common english definition of "theory".
" A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world."
because i have a scientific mind, i like to see and compare to make my own conclusions, and i dont have enough conclusive evidence to see that it is round. ive seen pictures of earth in a lot of different states, it LOOKS flat to observers, the proof seems to just be too mathematical and it's easy to deceive people with math beacause most people suck at it or are too lazy to figure it out.
There you go. Had it saved in my viewing history. The whole channel is a fucking goldmine.
I'm just fucking around m8
Fuck yeah it's dumb, because there is absolutely no evidence it doesn't exist, it's a fucking all powerful deity that can do whatever it wants IF it is even an intelligent power of any kind. And it doesn't have to be a deity or tangible thing at all, it is a god. Or what your feeble mortal mind chose to call it. It may not even be an "it" at all. It is an in-comprehensible idea to grasp, something that has is and will be. Something that actually may not be. Who knows? We may all be "god" inside each others own imaginative constructs or some dumb shit. God is a word with limitless potential of ideas, it can literally be anything, or nothing. Even the shit you took today, maybe that might be god.
>So you're saying you're not allowed to not believe in a evidence-free deity?
Of course you may. But when you spew idiocy based on one sole source (and ancient book written in a time when people knew nothing of the structure of the universe) and pass it off as fact and start insulting people for not falling for your shite, that's wrong.
>This is actually how Americans see the world
counterpoint, atop mountains there is less air. Before freezing, many climbers that due lose their life to lack of air. Many climbers use oxygen, if air permeated the universe it wouldn't have lower density atop mountains and at high altitudes.
i understand that, but it is still a theory.
if you see a ball, you know it is a fact that it is a sphere. but if you DON'T see it, you have to rely on calculations and what other people tell you
>Why do you censor His name like profanity?
It's a valid question you asked him but why do you capitalize "Him" like a fucking autist? The only pronoun that gets capitalized is I. That shit triggers me.
Exactly my point, the only people I critique about this shit is the people who aren't on the fence, as dumb as that sounds. Because there are no answers, it is an idea to a question that may never be answered.
It's an effect that causes hurricanes to spin one way in the south and one way in the north. It also causes long range sniper shots to curve consistently off course. It's the same effect that would happen if you were riding along the outside of a merry-go-round and tried to roll a ball across it to the other side. The ball would not roll straight
Why do people think that there's a conspiracy to cover up a flat earth?
Why do most flat earth people assume that there's some major shadow organization trying to make people think the earth is round? Why would they spend centuries, trillions of combined dollars, and all this massive amount of effort, to just make people think the earth is round? What would they gain from it?
Seriously, if the earth was flat we would know about it. It would just be common knowledge. People have these things called brains, and we're capable of learning things on our own.
>>702062943 For it to be logical to believe in a god, there would need to be evidence of one's existence in the first place. There is none, it's more historically accurate to understand that all religions share an ancestry with ancient proto human spiritual beliefs which came about because we were smart enough to be aware of forces in the world but not smart enough to understand why those forces exist or what they do. That is the foundation of literally every single religion that humanity has ever made up, using the supernatural to explain things that we have a hard time understanding. Humans don't have a natural need for religion, they have a natural need for understanding life and the world, and when they're too stupid to learn how things really work, they just resort to religion.
I give less than a shit. Trying any harder to give less of a shit than I already do would defeat the purpose of not giving a shit.
A dumb theory is becoming more popular? It only looks that way because an increasing percentage of the global population of dipshits has figured out how to state an opinion on the internet. That, or a handful of trolls have figured out how to fuck whatever polls bother to keep track of that shit. Which couldn't be that difficult to begin with.
Sorry, I really couldn't follow that. But of you're coming up with a model for how light passes through an atmosphere, work it out yourself, rather than make the world explain something that you'll just pass off as trickery anyway.
>Fuck yeah it's dumb, because there is absolutely no evidence it doesn't exist,
The problem with this viewpoint is that often times the only evidence of something's absence is the absence of any evidence. It can be damn near impossible to prove a negative. This is why the burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
They also don't believe in small scale models representing large scale phenomenon. Ie if you show them a scale model of say, the solar system. Even though it perfectly matches what we can observe, they say " no it's not the same size as what it represents thus it is inherently flawed and thus not evidence."
The crux of their arguments is taking assumptions and labeling them as truth. Then with that shaky foundation they build ontop of it with mostly speculation and few outdated scientific experiements and basic observations cherry picked out of a basket.
THey are the most insufferable people on the planet.
On one hand its good, the sort of thinking that lets you consider the flat earth theory is what we need more of these days.
On the other hand its bad, the sort of thinking that lets you believe the flat earth theory is what we need less of these days.
>Why do people think that there's a conspiracy to cover up a flat earth?
Because they believe that gives them them a valid argument for saying all testimonial, photographic, visual, and audio evidence is bunk. It's basically being extremely lazy.
>Why do people think that there's a conspiracy to cover up a flat earth?
Because the world loves a mystery, and this might make the FE interesting.
>Why do people think that there's a conspiracy to cover up a flat earth?
Speak for yourself. There is a school of "thought" that says disobeying your minister/Imam whatever is a sin. Literally "thinking" is a sin.
>For it to be logical to believe in a god
It is not logical to believe in God. Nevertheless, *most* people do. And personally, I won't fault them for that. But the lies they perpetrate in the name of *their* God is damaging to society.
That's my point, you only need up to DE, basic physics understanding and a bit of observational skills to make and prove like 20 methods that tell you that the earth is a spherical object.
Did you read what I said? A god does not have to be a part of a religion at all, it may not even be a deity, just some sort of in-comprehensible power or something. Or nothing. The point is, choosing a side is stupid because there hasn't been an answer for any of them, it's all just "faith." Even atheism, because you have faith that it can all be answered through just thought or science or whatever. Who knows where we came from or why we are even here in the first place, but does it really even matter? If there was an answer, deity of any kind, or lack there of, I still would not give a fuck. I'd just do me.
There are plenty of public and private organizations that have pictures of the earth from space, or from low orbit.
SpaceX for instance has been to space. There are shitloads of private companies from all across the world with satellites in space.
Ok look it...when you keep livestock you have two choices....free range or fenced in. Free ran ge means you gotta go herd an find em they get lost stolen they stray. Fenced in works better but they gotta have what they need within the fence. Humans need a lot more than grass and graze...they need food for their minds and their souls. You provide them with these and they're happy to stay confined within the fence you have constructed for their confinment.
so in flat earth theory. if i were to achieve an altitude just above all man made buildings i should be able to fly from la to japan with a straight shot without adjusting altitude once till i land... you realize how fucking stupid that sounds right? im sure none of you have the slightest idea how aircrafts work..
Have you seen that stuff about the entire universe being simulated? Elon Musk was talking about it recently. If we ever get to the point where we can simulate an entire universe, then it'll show that we might be someone elses simulation, and not even the top level simulation.
It sends me into an existential crisis just thinking about it.
Well I wasn't talking about feminists was I?
You missed the big idea of what I was saying. All religion is made up. We, as a species, developed faith based belief early on in our development of higher level thinking, and that over many tens of thousands of years evolved into hundreds of religions all around the world. Every single religion has its foundations in the supernatural beliefs of our cave man ancestors who felt the wind and heard the river, but didn't know why the air blew or how the water flowed.
It is entirely illogical to believe in any kind of god whatsoever, not believing in one isn't a leap of faith, and is in no way illogical.
CGI u dumb ass and space is and all that planet bullshit is fake nothing. ..I repeat NOTHING get passed tha Van Allen radiation belt people are dumber then a box of rocks smh!!!
But there isn't even an answer is the point, I never made a claim of either side, I just said nobody has been proven right and picking a side is retarded because of that reason alone. Peoples capacity for imagination is fucking shit around here. When someone says "god" you either think of religion, a deity, some tangible thing, or something with a thought process of some kind. A "god" is not meant to be understood, it is time incarnate. Creation. Everything. Infinite. The. It is what some people call "faith" they have faith in something. They just believe. That's what faith is. Just believing in something. All I really have faith in is the fajitas I ate tonight are gonna make me shit mountains tomorrow morning.
Ok im actually gonna answer it. One important thing about lies its motivation, people lie for various reasons. Now tell me, what motivation would nasa have to lie to the entire world about the earth being round? If you can give one plausible reason then maybe ill consider the proof that we have about the earth being round is fake. That's just for starts.
"season" the earth, you say?
They're everywhere....watch tv...go online....hell...go to church..school...they're standing in line at the convenience store they drive along side you on the freeway...everywhere
First up: It's not a satellite base (whatever that is), it's a radio receiver array, or actually looks more like an old cold war radar early warning installation. True, radio waves do bounce off the upper astmospher/ionosphere. Talk to Ham radio operators about that.
Satellites don't orbit "in the air." So he's already showing a fundamental lack of understanding of physics. Then he goes on to say he simply doesn't believe it. That's not proof. That's an ignorant blatherer speaking.
Oh look - the text he puts up mentioned ccold war!
Sun dogs demonstrate refractive qualities, not reflective. Fool. And it's ice crystals in the atmosphere, not the atmosphere itself.
And that's enough for now. 1:39 seconds into it, and I've got to post before this goes 404. Anyway, my point. He's an idiot, and ytou're a fool to listen tio it with your mouth open.
I just browsed quickly to find a space photo of the earth and I found this one from SpaceX.
It's look pretty round from up there.
>They have the freedom to make shit up (lie) because truth and understanding are not their goals, and they end the arguments with "prove me wrong."
>By disavowing any science put forward and continuing to make shit up, they "win" by attrition.
Not just mountains. . any elevation in terrain ....that's the ONLY reason a plane has to adjust altitude for collision avoidance...that and man-made obstacles and the faa rules that govern frying over them....no pilot in the history of always has ever had to adjust altitude for the curvature of the earth.
why though? the ONLY reason i don't believe earth is flat is because of seasons and latitude and longitude. there's honestly no real evidence for the contrary. the government has always lied to the people so why blindly believe one aspect of it. shit why is nasa even government owned? i have a friend who works for space x and he literally does nothing space related. he's always hyping up his next project but he never experiences anything space related
Yeah I guess it is illogical to believe in any religion. I don't fuck with religion, it is pretty silly to just go with it too. But I'm not an atheist either. I guess i'd call myself agnostic, really having no clue. But I don't like to label it, because what you make of creation or faith has endless possibilities. Or it may just have ONE possible answer, but who knows? Trying to make sense of it all is just ludicrous. Awesome, sure. And enlightening, thought provoking. Beneficial in some cases, but will there ever come an answer were looking for? There is absolutely no way to tell. Just time.
There is no proof for their explanations to this question, just speculation backed with cherry picked random pieces of "evidence"
Basically they want people to believe in the idea that we are all insignificant. That we're nothing more than flecks of dust. This in their minds makes us more obedient, we feel less special about ourselves thus we are less inclined to feel like we have rights and should fight for them etc. Also the bible thumpers say it's the gubbermint trying to keep us away from god so they have better control etc
It's fucking dumb.
>i understand that, but it is still a theory.
No, you don't understand. The way you are framing your sentence minimizes the importance of the nature of the scientific "theory." What word are you expecting to be used in conjunction with "Oblate Spheroid ___" ?
Even people that build rockets to go to space make trash on Earth for janitors to clean up. I mean, I don't know your friend, but the fact that he doesn't do space stuff at a space company doesn't mean that company doesn't do space stuff, it just means he isn't that important.
>Regarding earth's sphericality
That's not blind belief buddy, humans have been building up evidence for the last 3000 years
I really do think that there are more people who believe in a flat earth now than there were in the 1200's
Like people historically weren't very keen on the whole flat earth thing, the only people who have ever believed in a flat earth have been peasants who couldn't afford schooling and had to farm until they died of the common cold.
can someone explain lunar eclipses and how we have a schedule for them and how ive seen them multiple times in my life. was the government just projecting a big picture in the sky to trick me?
his projects seem pretty important though
it is just as logical to believe in God or gods as it is to not believe. the difference is the proof. God has proof. no god has no proof
Yeah, I heard about that. I could give two fucks about it honestly, I mean, i'm living my life, I think. And me not existing might actually be a blessing.
>earth looks different in nearly every picture
You make it sound like that's not the way it should be. So given that there are seasons and clouds and movement of Sun north and south and times of day, different imaging media and sensors, what are you expecting?
>everything "they" tell us is a lie. There is no space.
>they tell us they went into space numerous times.
>they tell us about the dangerous vanallen belt and that's why we don't go to space anymore.
>LOL there's no way a human being could have gotten past the van allen belt thus space is a lie
So, you accept that some of what "they" have told you is true about space, but others must be untrue, thus all of it is untrue....
Howabout this: The van allen radiation belt is discovered and represents a small but real risk to astronaughts. Any risk at all is enough to cancel rocket launches let alone entire manned missions. Seems a lot more likely that they just don't want to deal with a potential hazard until they can confidently avoid it. On top of the millions of other reasons we aren't sending many manned missions into space.
>Satellites don't orbit, they bounce off the upper astmospher/ionosphere
I might know of those satellites
>it is just as logical to believe in God or gods as it is to not believe.
>God has proof.
That just refutes what you just said because there may not even be a god? Or I just read it wrong?
You mean a bunch of jewish shekel hounds compiling false accounts into a book to have more control over the european masses.
Religious people are literally retarded, and I'm amazed that there are still people who actually follow a religious faith at this point in history.
Why do you say we can't get past it? It's been done by manned spacecraft 7 times, and I don't really know how many unmanned - Voyagers 1& 2, New Horizons, Mariners, Vikings, Venera, etc.
Sure, they had CGI when they live streamed the Apollo landing and moonwalk constantly for over two hours.
The fact that you only see the highlights nowadays is glossed over a lot, but the original moon landing was televised for 140 minutes straight, which would have used more film 8mm than you could fit inside a house, in order to create the so called 'slow effect' of the moon walk.
i never said there may or may not, it just is just as logical for someone to believe there is or isn't. i think it is obvious that there is, but some people don't have the spiritual nature and thus observe the world with their senses, and don't see proof for God so it is logical they won't believe in him
No, what's retarded is pretending that there's a 50/50 split in this debate, that victory can only be given to one side if they conclusively prove either god exists or god doesn't exist. That is not how logic works.
The very reason why the format of, "Whoever makes the claim has the burden of proof" is specifically designed to weed out weak ideas.
I'm not saying you're making a claim, but religious people very much do make a claim about the nature of our universe and it's not retarded to say, "Well if you can't prove it, why should I believe it?"
Then again, I get the impression I'm wasting my time considering this contradiction;
>A "god" is not meant to be understood, it is time incarnate. Creation. Everything. Infinite.
If god is incomprehensible, then there's no way you can then say "It's time incarnate. Creation. Everything. Infinite." Completely and utterly mutually exclusive.
are they really?
ive debunked this countless times
nah, the israelites of yesteryear are long gone. the jews of today are the khazarian illuminati synagogue of satan
sounds crazy but we are in a flat earth thread aren't we? and im not trolling
I view it as part of the coming deevolution of the human race. At the turn of the century, smart people became noticeably dumber.
There are still smart people, but they are making far less smart choices than they used to. Humankind is getting dumber, eventually, it won't be the evolution of the intelligence we're making in computers, but the fact that we've dumbed ourselves down below modern technology, where we will compare to the earliest computers in intelligence.
That is, to say, merely reduced to pushing buttons and nothing else.
A lot of scientists and astronomers have said the more they study the universe, the more they believe in a god. But to think it is some kind of "being" or "judge", "him" or even an "it" is ridiculous. I may be wrong is what I was saying earlier, but to be able to comprehend god or to even see it in anything is just probably impossible.
really? explain the sr71 blackbird. which my grandfather piloted, explain how he flew against the atmosphere in it and how he had to wear a suit close to an astronauts suit. also he has pictures of them in the plane. also he had to adjust for curvature or else he could of stalled the jet.
i think you want to believe in God. He is a "He" and an "it" because he is communicating with us. he is way more than that. the bible actually has God decribing himself, he says "i am who i am, i will be what i will be"
that is God literally describing himself to Moses
>why though? the ONLY reason i don't believe earth is flat is because of seasons and latitude and longitude. there's honestly no real evidence for the contrary. the government has always lied to the people so why blindly believe one aspect of it.
*Politicians* have always lied to the people. It is not fair to project that experience onto the rank and file. Anyway...
What sort of proof do you want? Do you think being whiny is going to get you a free "See?" flight from NASA? Seriously, what do you want?
Lift equals weight...thrust equals drag....any unbalance in respect to these and the aircraft moves in respect to the imbalance. Lift is caused by a decrease in air pressure over the top of the wing...it is caused by Bernoulli principle which states that a liquid...or gas..flowing through a venturi...a wing is half of this...increases speed and decreases pressure. This causes the lift. Its also how propellers work
