Can we get a discussion going about the lefts war on religion. We all know most lefties are atheist and believe we should abolish religion.
The reason the dems and the libs want terrorist in this country is so they can blame religion and snuff it out once and for all its a war on religion.
All religions are lies.
God is a a superstition.
What do you do when you hunt? Same thing you would be doing if you shot someone. Killing a creature. Thats why guns are though of differently. What other purposes do they have?
Things could be stopped in an instant, all war, famine, plagues. Just because you're an atheist doesn't mean that you won't have to deal with world's shit anymore. Also, atheism, in some cases, has become just as bad as religious extremism. A respectable person wouldn't even bring religion into context as it can be a sensitive topic. Aim towards being the latter (respectable person), not part of the left or right spectrum.
Also, ur a fggt.
You can kill someone with almost anything, i can kill someone with almost every object in my room, granted it's easier with different objects, gun, knife, bat. The problem is people, i could mass kill people with my car, should cars be banned, the problem is people, i know it's wrong to run people over in my car. Life isn't gta, there are consequences.
Well let's see...
Starting pistols for races.
Skeet shooting and competitive target shooting.
When someone says there is only one use for something you can immediately assume they are wrong and an idiot.
> Life isn't gta, there are consequences
You would think this would work in theory but 11K a year says otherwise. You are right by saying some people ruin it for other but most of the people in america just want to make it harder to get guns. Not get rid of guns. The whole reason I posted was to say the image had a terrible point. The whole saying a bat is just as bad as a gun thing.
I'm a Lefty and my belief is that Organized religion is just another mechanism to control the masses.
But we should not prohibit people from worshiping their own deity outside of the confines of organized systems
How many people died this year in Christian terrorist attacks?
Ok you faggots listen up.
People are the problem. A gun cannot walk outside and shoot something by itself. A gun is an inanimate object until wielded by someone or something with the capacity to aim and pull the trigger. Yes, guns are machines designed only to kill, but they CAN NOT DO SO ON THEIR OWN. YOU DENSE FUCKING RETARDS
FIX YOURSELVES, NOT THE MACHINES
GOD AIN'T REAL EITHER
Spiritual does not mean believing in spirits and higher beings, reincarnation, and other shit.
Realizing that we are all made of star dust, and that we are connected to the universe can be a spiritual moment without believing nonsense.
No one thinks the first thing
The second is a case of choice, a muslim woman has none
The third is justifiable in a vacuum but all people from islamic countries are extreme beheading child killers and moderate beheading child killers so the issue is with the culture that is so intertwined with a desert warlord's religion among, who could have guessed, desert warlords
What is your .44 going to do against a tank? Even if you manage to take a drone down, what person have you killed? You just wasted something you spent your own tax dollars on. Do it with your brains instead and pressure one person with numbers, not the whole army.
I personally believe that it is irrational to believe in a deity, when there is absolutely no evidence pointing towards such a thing existing.
Imagine if someone believed in fairies? They'd be the laughing-stock of the public, but god gets a pass.
Until there is sufficient evidence that a deity exists, I do not see why anyone should believe in one.
The reason I hate religion is because it makes people lazy; it gives people false answers and tells them not to think critically about those answers. It also gets in the way of scientific progress very often.
Another point I would like to address is that even if we find evidence that a god exists, we still need to know whether that god wants us to worship it or not. We also need evidence that that god is all-powerful and all-knowing, as many religions describes Him. We also need to know whether that god even knows that we exist or not; maybe it doesn't care about us.
Religion makes too many assumptions without basing any of them on evidence.
Science and reason should be our source of decision-making, not potentially false stories that often cause people to behave radically.
>Jews in the west don't tend to spontaneously combust in huge explosions
>Burkas are no sign of devotion to allah, but were put in place to protect the - implied - weak will of men who lust after women. Basically muslim men are not taught how to self-control.
>muslims don't defend their land, they violently expand it.
Thx for providing clear evidence for the mental incapabilities of muslims by pointing out the retarded strawmens they use.
A nice sword, and some molotov cocktails at a gay bar would go looong way, especially if you chained the fire exits closed first
Ban chains, locks, sharp things, glass bottles, and gasoline
You don't /thread your own post, newfag. Our "imaginary friends" have given us the foresight and power to create the most powerful and prosperous civilizations on the planet (regardless of whether the power is a real thing or a placebo effect). Your lack of belief in anything gives you the power to coat your keyboard with Dorito dust in the basement of your moms house.
Infiltrated or selected?
When was the last time a country was over thrown by its people? A first world country. The US does have the most technologically advanced military but the government has many agreements and makes its representatives to much money to quite war once its started.
>lol we convinced poor people to blame each other
>they say lefty and righty and bitch each other out
>we been fucking them all in the ass for 40 years
>we don't even have to damage control
>kids do it for us on 4chan
what the 1% are thinking about this thread
Lol this dumbass thinks pretty highly of religion. All of civilization huh? So nothing of the progress we could have made if christians hadn't brought about the dark ages? Nothing of all the knowledge lost when religitards burned the libraries of Alexandria?
No... too much entertainment value. And it's a root component of our culture. I'd hate too see the loss of any living artifacts.
I just don't want delusional people in control of anything important.
>Why are you just narrowing it down to this year?
Because we live in it.
I don't judge a culture for what their ancestors did.
I judge them for what their current representatives do.
And even tho I'd like to wish both farewell, for personal preferences, I have no real issue with living in a mostly Christian society, since Christianity as a whole got reformed and actually allows freedom of religion and freedom of expression for those living amongst them.
Islamic societies do not.
Gays get thrown off of roofs, Children get married, Slavery is legal, women have basically no rights, sharia law is heavily biased, Scientific discoveries get rejected if they conflict with the quran.
You realize the ratio for baseball bat/baseballs purchased is super sketch right? It's something like 10,000 baseball bats sold for every 50 balls. The only reason I've ever bought a bat is for home defence.
>you're 6 hurr durr
You didn't rebuke anything I said. Even if every religion is false, the results are still the same. People share faith, work towards a common goal, and prosper (sometimes). Atheists chase whatever goals are popular at the time. This can lead to some shitty situations.
I am an atheist from the middle-east and I completely agree with what you said.
Also, most of my close friends are Christians or atheists.
The Christians of the middle-east are very open-minded and nice.
Literally the only related story google came up with.
And it's only about russian moscow.
Not saying there aren't any more, but I can't find any.
Where did I say all of civilization? I meant sharing a common religion can help people pool their energies and focus on common goals. Alexander the Great believed in "imaginary friends", dipshit. The Catholic Church is a disgusting abomination that willfully kept people ignorant. Don't forget the bubonic plague, though.
Yeah man I agree with you islam is fucked but history is taught for a reason. To not repeat it. Didnt you just hear about the christian who replaced all the lube in a store with acid to hate on gays? Or Robert Deer killing those people at planed parenthood? This shit doesnt hit headlines or get categorized the same since the people who take this info, are also most likely christian.
>Our "imaginary friends" have given us the foresight and power to create the most powerful and prosperous civilizations on the planet
No god has given people the power to do anything. Anything a person does is done by the power of his own will and strengths. The pyramids, the hanging gardens, the Eiffel tower, mines, the statue of liberty, Big Ben, all of these things were built by men with the strength of their backs and the sweat of their brows. Not by some fictitious sky fairies.
Was gonna post that one. Some sources even say it's 400,000-500,000 bats sold per every ball globally. I'll try to find more articles. Fact is that the chances you're buying that bat for baseball are slim.
Genocide can happen anywhere (remember how Hitler claimed to be an atheist, and wanted to downplay the importance of religion?) Why do you think I support anything the Catholic Church has ever done? I was telling anon that all great civilizations utilize religion, at least to get started.
Is this like the power to part seas and walk on water? Can you do any of that? No didn't give you those powers? Hmmm... shame that your imaginary friend only gives stuff others already possess without worship. Doesn't seem like it's helpful to worship your imaginary friend. Maybe try another friend.
A six week fetus is NOT a person you dumbshit. It will BECOME a person later, but it ain't there yet.
Theists chase whatever goals are popular with the religion of the time. People of faith working together for a common goal can just as easily lead to shitty situations including but not limited to inquisitions, crusades, genocide, assassination, suicide, and the wholesale denunciation of facts and reason. What's your point?
The idea of America fighting to reclaim a particular religion is un-American because the United States has a Constitution which states there there is and never will be an official religion.
We are above that kind of tribal shit.
True, but the pyramids, hanging gardens, and statue of liberty were all built for religious purposes using religious symbolism based off of religious ideologies. It's like every single one of you is missing my point. The adults with "imaginary friends" of the past created all these things.
>but history is taught for a reason
To learn from it and therefore understand how we came to the present state, not to view the present trough the historic lense and therefore erroneously apply apologetics on everything that once was "better"
>Didnt you just hear about the christian who replaced all the lube in a store with acid to hate on gays?
Please tell me more about how bigoted idiots represent the vast majority of their culture.
>Or Robert Deer killing those people at planed parenthood? This shit doesnt hit headlines or get categorized the same since the people who take this info, are also most likely christian.
Explain the huge media coverage on it then.
Yes, retarded bigots exist everywhere.
But while Christianity as a institution condems these bigots and prosecutes them, Islamic countries celebrate and encourage gay hatred. Even the most liberal of imams I can think of, like Mufti Menc, will tell you that a gay man can't be a muslim. (Tho in menc's case he actually condems the killing of them as well. Problem is, he's viewed as "radical" amongst his peers)
Regardless how bad you want to paint Christianity by naming the few recent atrocities committed - falsely - in its name, compared to what's going on in the middle east - perfectly legal according to local laws - these are just peanuts.
Yes, religion always will spawn zealots.
But in the past century the church, unlike Islam actually discourages such extreme actions and openly, very directly, condemns them.
Not the guy you were replying to here but I think if you wait long enough to go get an abortion it shouldn't be allowed. Like you already had multiple chances to prevent your pregnancy. There's condoms, the pill, morning after pill, spermicide etc. You should be forced to live with your shitty irresponsible choices.
So is your point that none of these things could be created without religion? That people are unable to come together for a common goal unless they're all bound together by whichever god they happen to worship in a given region?
Righties aren't all that different from the ones they hate the most.
The thing you retards dont understand about this is peace and pacifism arent the same words.
How have humans historically achieved peace? The 20's were a great peacetime following... That's right, world war 1.
Peace is achieved most typically through war.
Pacifism is not going to war.
So yes, islam is a peaceful religion, and their gonna blow your infidel asshole out until there is peace.
Eh, I can't say much. I'm a left-leaning Heathen (Nordic pagan) with a generally libertarian attitude. People need to seriously shut the fuck up and mind their own, in my opinion.
Because of this
And basically all clips on this channel
And finally, to suffocate your #Notallmuslims bullshit, especially because of this
Any questions left?
in >>701746160 you said, "Islamic societies do not.
Gays get thrown off of roofs, Children get married, Slavery is legal, women have basically no rights, sharia law is heavily biased, Scientific discoveries get rejected if they conflict with the quran.
Then you said "Please tell me more about how bigoted idiots represent the vast majority of their culture."
So why can you do that for islam? You are a product of your culture just like everyone else and saying some muslims throwing gays off the roof represents all 1.6 billion muslims but christian attacks like robert deer or the guy that replaced lube with acid and many more arent representatives of their religion. Thats a contradiction.
run along and continue to be a whore now.
First, the article is about guns. Now to the religion bullshit. Im so fucking tired of religious people claiming atheists are imoral. Trying to say that an entity who did all the fucked up shit in the old/new testament teach us morals. Also, why the fuck do the churches need to be rich? if all that matters are the fucking afterlife then why the fuck bother about riches, get the word out and live like the god you love so much, in poverty.. so fucking hypocritical im sick of it.
>Pastor Roger Jimenez
>Verity Baptist Church
>not just a sect
Who was the father of this child what choice did he have?
The Church ruled over Britain for hundreds of years. During that time there was the bubonic plague, shit everywhere, and literally no medical research since the Church killed people that did it.
I'm Christianity and i'm your unborn babies safest place.
It's not even a matter of believing in an "imaginary friend"
I don't believe in any God, but I believe in karmic destiny.
I'm not under any illusion that my beliefs will save me from inevitable death, and I don't care whether there's an afterlife. I'll live my life wherever it leads me.
Atheists really piss me off sometimes because I understand how it feels to rely on your beliefs during hard times, and instead of having an actual conversation they'd rather use shitty one liners to condescend anyone who doesn't think like them.
I used to be like that, that's the worst thing. I think a lot of atheists need to reevaluate why they treat non-atheists the way that they do, because we all go in the ground in the end, and after that none of their elitist bullshit will matter.
>It looks like a dead baby, so it must be a dead baby!
Yeah but I hate to break it to you but there's no scientific evidence for "karmic destiny" any more than there is for a god.
Sure some get what they deserve, others don't. Why believe in something that inconsistent?
>Baptist is a sect of Christianity
No, it's not a sect, it's a type of sects.
>Are Baptist churches evangelical?
>As indicated by their name, the primary Baptist distinctive is their practice of believer's baptism and corresponding rejection of infant baptism. Most Baptists are evangelical in doctrine, but Baptist beliefs can vary due to the congregational governance system that gives autonomy to individual local Baptist churches.
The Verity Baptist Church (which got kicked out by the property owner after that sermon) is a individual sect with a few hundred members only, exactly like the infamous Westboro baptist church.
None of them represent mainstream Christianity (catholic, orthodox, evangelical, protestant) in their views.
Again, try harder.
I think that would be the yellow one. It was a mistake. Muslims are the followers of Islam. Cant I get distracted? Is that the only thing about the statement you have to argue about?
It literally is. It was my first post in the thread and I don't give a fuck about anything in it except the fact that you don't understand how fucking words work. I am in no way attacking your argument. I am saying you have little to no understanding of how the English language operates.
It's more of the thought that the path that you go down is very easily set.
Say someone starts doing heroin under peer pressure in HS. They take a liking to it and become a heroin addict, and fall into the life that brings.
Is it possible their actions could bring them out of that life and into a one where they don't struggle on the streets with their addiction?
Yes, they could go to rehab and get their life straight. Is it likely without the intervention of other people's paths? No.
You pick your destiny, but once you make the choices you do you can't escape it.
Like I said, I don't care whether what I believe is backed by science. In my lifetime science will not save me from death, so when I die I guess it won't matter.
But on late nights when I'm alone and wondering how I got here, I can tell myself it's because this is where I'm supposed to be.
>Is that the only thing about the statement you have to argue about?
Yes, as he has clearly told you here
Now, so far you only have adressed one point out of this list,
and that one has crumbled away.
Do you have any other actual arguments on your side?
westboro baptist church members are a cult not a religion tho.
and I'm against abortion btw
if you can't take responsibility for you actions, keep that dick in your pants, nigger
OK that makes more sense. Yes, we are here because how we made our choices. Good or bad, this is the result. Chance really doesn't play that big of a factor at all.
I thought you were talking about the Force or something.
>posts an anti-gun control thing
>let's talk about the war on religion
Let me just kill two birds with one stone by pointing out that the German Jews pre-holocaust were a disarmed population with little to no access to guns and that despite all sorts of modern ideology the Left has moved from worshiping religious institutions to worshiping the State.
How far can we go back? This is the age of the nicest Christians but that says nothing since most people in the US are Christians and US has the highest murder rate. Just because they dont openly preach it doesnt mean it doesnt happen or they dont have it wrote down in the the scripture. Its the culture of Christianity that you enjoy and thats actually first world culture. It just so happens to be mostly christian.
The word "cult" has always been controversial because it is (in a pejorative sense) considered a subjective term, used as an ad hominem attack against groups with differing doctrines or practices, which lacks a clear or consistent definition.
No, more that the choices we make take us where we are, and since most people are habitually a certain way we usually can't change the way we'll live our lives.
Believing in pure destiny is usually a fantasy of joy for everyone, karmic destiny is more along the lines of accepting that some peoples stories don't have happy endings, and that can't be helped.
Now in the vein of honesty I'll admit I believe I've done what I have in my life for a reason, but those things are a direct result of the path most easily taken in my choices.
>We all know most lefties are atheist and believe we should abolish religion.
So, I don't believe we should abolish religion. I'm a believer in the 1st Amendment.
I just want the development of a political force that counteracts religion's influence in the government. For me, religion is 100% political, and it needs to be fought like any other harmful political special interest.
>the Left has moved from worshiping religious institutions to worshiping the State.
abortion is tryin to erase the product of your stupid decision and selfish behaviour
no, I'll rather fuck others AND use a fucking rubber because I don't want kids or std's, nigger.
