Its kinda cool for an experimental game
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xd-5AmjAA4M - That music tho
This game was my jam back in the late 90s
Remember playing on a demo disc. Wanted to buy it but was impossible to find. And when i finally did...5 years after it came out...it was at Sears for $50...ridiculous....didn't buy it.
Who gave this one a whirl my m8s? It was my first glimpse into the Japanese psyche tbh
I never finished it. Went back and watched a little of it on Youtube just recently and it definitely holds up, it is spooky as fuck. Modern games don't touch it. Has there been a decent horror game since PS2?
Addictive game play
The music is perfect in Die Harder.
Good work. It is indeed. I remember when I played it I had a limited frame of reference so I thought of it as 'Resident Evil but wrong'. Similar with Chase the Express. Wish I finished CtE.
All you anons making me feel nostalgic.
any /b/ros remember this fucking winner? once it was loaded up you could take the game out and put an audio CD in and it would make up levels based on that music.
i lost days of my life to this game. a lot of people really didn't like it at all.
this thread is bring a lot of memories back... just remembered this game and had to google to find the name of it based on the gameplay. like a fighting game, but you were flying inside this wireframe cube.
you will never believe this
This game made me so frustrated when i played back then. Crashed into walls and shit. still played it though.
i had the full release i do still have music 3000 on disk here next to me XD such great games
I had this on a demo disc and I played the fuck out of it. That was after I go over the fact of being scared that it might be a horror game. Having watched the Anime, movies and played the new game on steam, I should probably go back and play this fully.
do you even fucking know the best demo game of my life?
oh my god i just remembered when i was like 9 or 10, i made a ton of tracks on music and music 2000...
i was so convinced that i was gonna be the next big thing that i came up with a name for myself "DJ Lo" jesus what a fucking faggot i was haha
it was all fun and games until you'd suddenly played too many samples and the game wouldn't let you play any more because the PS1's memory was full
dunno if underrated or not, but it's god tier (perhaps best game)
It's Primal "RAGE" faggot. If you're going to criticise my game at least get the name right.
I'm sorry I was like 12 or something and fucking terrified of horror shit. There was another game I played like 5 minutes of that was my dads. Can't remember the name, I just remember walking into some type of crypt or something right at the beginning and pissing myself.
I AM LOOKING FOR A PS1 GAME
I REMEMBER PLAYING ON DEMO DISK
IT WAS LIKE 2 CHARACTER FIGHTING ON SOME GREEN MAP, AND ONE OF THEM WAS SHOOTING YELLOW WEIRD KAMEMEHA STUFF
THE VIEW WAS SEEN FROM ABOVE I THINK
ITS BEEN 15 YEARS AND NEVER FOUND IT AGAIN
ps1 memory was terrible prob get about 30 seconds of samples in XD i think i may still have an 8mb mem card with all my songs on.
i remember i made a massive club banger using a sample from mr hanky the christmas poo
the part when he says "gay" i grabbed that and mixed it... god i miss my mr hanky single XD though it was the best cd ever when that came out lol
It was not, I loved Medievil. I am googling now....I think it might have been Deathtrap Dungeon
Wasn't this weird ass game was it?
Not saying it necessarily belongs in an "underrated" thread but it was weird as shit.
Resident evil. Spent a many of hours stoned playing that shit back in the day.
This game i spent hours on with my friends on "speed" lulz made some dnb tunes hahaha
>No mention of Alundra or Grandia
Fuck sake lads
>Tfw I was a poorfag so I read through cheat books that came with magazines fantasizing about what the games must be like
This one was high up on my list. I never played it or even saw a screenshot. I can only imagine that the faculty were badass
never finished top difficulty, I wonder if I could make it now
quick saves on emulator are tempting
And people say your childhood is the best years of your life. Between the poverty, the low expectations, the neglect and the sexual abuse it's hard to pick which is my most precious memory
holy shit, the combo system was supper addictive but it looked like shit
I never finished first but remember one-shotting tree boss with poison and collecting goofy looking monsters
I played through whole sequel on PS2 which did little to improve combat and was insanely short, pretty amusing though
he fell for the bait. get off the internet kid.
how on earth people managed quick time specials?
my timing was awful and I could never attack to full potential
is it really worth trying now outside of nostalgia?
watching YT walkthrough seems a better choice
Wasn't that big of a fan honestly
Crash Bandicoot 2 is possibly my favorite game of all time
Great game and the third one is amazing
I vaguely remember this shit
Game was decent, the gameplay was kinda rough
only had x4
absolutely not underrated and also possibly my favorite game
same with this one this game was creepy and awesome
didnt know this was on playstation good game
Anybody remember this Need for Speed with the custom track creator?
The first couple of times I beat that, I used all my ink ribbons and barely made it out alive, and missed most of the optional stuff. Took me months of on and off playing.
Last time I played it, I didn't use but 2 ribbons the whole game, and beat it in one sitting. I didn't even know about unlocking the guns at first because I did so poorly as a kid.
Still a lot of fun.
Sometimes I like to pop in RE3, to see how fast I can beat it without saving again. Gives a new challenge to an old game.
I've got a couple that no one has posted yet.
First up, Star Ocean, the second story.
Fucking great game with real time action and great story with a cool party mechanic allowing you to split off from your party in towns and chatting them up individually.
You can even go full nigger and pickpocket every single mother fucker in the game.
And mother fucking Chrono Cross. My favorite game off all time, great story, probably the perfection of turn based combat, beautiful music and visuals, a great story with 45 different playable characters.
These nostalgia threads get fucking real... How are you doing these days anon?
Both silver star story and this one are very good titles.
I played through both 1 and 2 and I enjoyd both, but one was my favorite.
It had a very compelling and believable story line for me that was easy to get into, and I absolutely loved the cat people race. So cute.
They made a remake of the new one, but I haven't played it yet, looks good.
I also played the ones for the ps2 and ps3, and I gotta say, the game has departed significantly from the original game style. I enjoyed them all, but one is still my favorite.
Are you talking about the normal combos or the dragoon combo? On the last round for the dragoon combo you have to press it like a half of a second early to land the 5 every time.
It's been a rocky life and I'm annoyed at not finding work yet. I've got 3 degrees now in practical fields but there just isn't the work. I'm three months sober, so in Sept will go back to occasional but never dependent drinking. I have a lot of mental issues but working out and therapy have helped a lot, and I have a fairly decent life now. Thanks for asking.
Not really underrated or originally ps1, but this is a nostalgia thread now.
and no nostalgia thread on video games is complete without Chrono Trigger.
ummm let's not forgot pre tony hawk skating game STREET SK8ER, another great game for a good soundtrack.
I haven't played 1 yet, but I've got to agree with you on the deviation thing. I loved 2 and till the end of time but everything after that just fucking sucks. It's like all the personality and spirit of the game was just sucked out of it.
Whoa, If you had asked me what my life was life nowadays it would almost be verbatim the same replay. Still looking for work, couple months sober, lot of mental issues etc.. We can get through this, yo. Certain nootropics seem to be helping a lot. Hope your job hunt ends soon, being stuck in this weird inbetween zone is a bitch. God speed & good luck, anon
Yeah, same to you m8. Just keep spending a while looking each day or so, not much else for it really. I'm reading 'How to Win Friends and Influence People,' you might find it helpful too. Keep at it my man, don't let your past define you.
following Akira 'Akiman' Yasuda trail is always rewarding
this is one of the best PS1 fighting games ever created, with a bit too flashy but otherwise superior sequel, sadly poorly ported to Dreamcast so playing it on ZINC or MAME is a proper way to go
the combat was very approachable, with pre-programmed strings of attacks and interesting specials so mixing canceling felt awesome and had many layers of depth
>This shit right here
My fucking friend. Fucking love and miss this game. People are still patitioning for a remake and sequl and there are still updated forum sites devoted to this.
I remember my first walkthrough when SNES emulators were experimental
replay on NDS was mandatory, maybe one day I will get one of these retro multi consoles and try original cartridge
They should petition for a remastering instead.
If they remake it and change any mechanics of it or anything, I'll be upset and highly disappointed.
jeeez you fucking niggers, what part of UNDERrater do you not understand?? all these are unanimously regarded as classics
Thanks, solid advice. Third time today I've happened to see that book title, maybe its a sign. My friend gave me the advice of calling HR and asking to speak with the hiring manager to "reconfirm attachments were properly received" or similar bullshit to get past the HR filter; apparently works best early in the week and early in the day.
>They should petition for a remastering instead.
>If they remake it and change any mechanics of it or anything, I'll be upset and highly disappointed.
My mistake. I meant to say remaster though I'm sure some want a remake as well. I'll be eternally disappointed if they changed any mechanics as well.
I only ever here people shitting on Chrono Cross because it's not an exact duplicate of Chrono Trigger.
I've only ever talked with one person who's played it and liked it, most of the time it's either they don't know what it is or they hate it.
