If you don't like it, stop listening to it. If you like it, you've gained something new. Fucking awaken your adventurous spirit.

People that listen to nothing but rap tend to follow the stereotype of "hard" coward. They like to think that they are some powerful individual that by all rights should admired and respected despite not having a foundation for said admiration and respect. When they are then placed in a delicate situation where they could then earn the admiration and respect of others, they instead tend to capitulate and back down, as it's the easier and safer route.

I despise those types of people the most.

I agree with this 100%

>Even when I find new music I like there is no one around that likes it to talk to.
That sucks, bro. While I'd like to make a big hullabaloo about liking music for music's sake, I still send off all my finds to my buddies, and they do likewise.

I'd still encourage at least listening to a little bit of some of the songs that others have posted that you have no clue about. There are many artists that have only one or two songs that I think are worthwhile while the rest suck ass. As stated before, you really don't lose anything. You're sitting here, anyway.

It sucks that the only song people know them for is sounds of silence, it's a great song but they have so many other good, if not better songs
And there's nothing wrong with that. But the fact that those dad rock songs are what came up, means that your playlist is mainly filled with that and you have not grown out of the music you heard while young. Live a little dude.
Unraveling - Royal treatment plant
Circuit Breaker - Royksopp
Circus Cosmos - Alu

These three off the top of my head should fit in with the style of New Medicine.

I have some stuff similar to Swear Jar, but I'll have to dig for it. Not stuff I listen to often.

I like Ghost, I'll certainly be checking out more by the Mystery Skulls. It's a fun song.
If you haven't heard Miike Snow - Genghis Khan yet, I'd give that a try. It's a fun, poppy song as well in a similar vein.
Vulfpeck - Back Pocket is another one.

You might also like Halsey - Gasoline. Doesn't fit completely with the genres linked, but is similar enough that you might want to give it a shot. I like several of her other songs as well.

Already listen to Halestorm, I was there at the concert were they sold enough EP's to get their first full record deal, got an autographed setlist and everything.
Trying the other song now, not bad, very garage.

I have a friend in Australia that turned me on to Aussie hip hop, Hilltop Hoods Shredding the balloon is one of my favs.

I saw a webm of the unofficial music video for ghost and checked it out and really liked it. I don't normally like electronic stuff but I don't mind it if the lyrics are good and existent.

I will check out the rest of your recommendations as well.

I find the easiest way to get music I like is to play the breaking Benjamin station on my android. But lots of different things are fun.
Hell yeah man. I rarely see anyone post them besides me. Going to see him in Indiana next month

Protest the Hero - Nautical

Nice. I picked up Halestorm at 2AM crossing Iowa during a 36 hour drive. Purely by chance. Never been more happy to have to fuck with the radio.

My tastes are super varied, and depend a lot on my mood. I swap music regularly with people I know, and I'll also plug a new song I've found into youtube and just let autoplay run, just to see if anything I like pops up. Then rinse, and repeat.

My biggest folders right now are Frank Sinatra and Sarah Vaughn. I actually listen to more oldies and electro-swing than I do anything else.

If you like Breaking Benjamin, as long as you also know Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, I don't feel that I can offer you too much, as it's fairly easy to find all the good stuff like that. I'll dig some more to see if I have anything else for you.
Caliban - Paralyzed

The Hollywood Hootsman - Gloryhammer
The Final Solution - Sabaton
Alt-J js the fitzpleasure guys, right? I listened to that song over 100 times straight
I wouldn't mind hearing a bit of this "electro swing"
I like a bit of big band brass sound but I don't know of any place to find it.

I actually live in Iowa so I am going to guess it was either Rock 108 or Lazer 1033.
Familiar taste of poison is one of my favorites.

I might suggest the first album by the pretty wreckless as well, none of it made it on the radio around here but the first album was much better than the latter stuff that is now getting play. It's a bit grungy and raw.

I have Face down by RJA but for the most part they lean a bit more alt than my tastes.

Sadly I know of most all the bands in the genre I like best, there are whole lot less of them than what you seem to prefer.

Alice Francis - St. James Ballroom
Parov Stellar - Catgroove
Caro Emerald - Back It Up
Caro Emerald - Excuse My French
Chinese Man - Miss Chang

Run though the jungle, clear water people are strange, the doors

Ballard of the Alamo, Marty Robbins

Familiar Taste of Poison wasn't bad, but when I listen to rock, I like it to be a bit harder.

I remember liking something by Otep once upon a time, but I can't remember what song it was now. If you haven't heard of them, perhaps they'd have something you'd like.
Yeah it isn't my favorite Seether song, I prefer Here and Now or The Remedy.

Shinedown was my favorite band up until their last album

Though while looking though things I found ICON FOR HIRE which I am really digging.

Going though your list now, digging Alice Francis. Thank you.

You have any requests for me?
Gorillaz - Do ya thing
iamthekidyouknowwhatimean - Run
Battleblock theater OST - Menu theme
Biga Ranx - Run mister Cokeman
A shoggoth on the Roff - Tentacles

I have a buddy that also liked Shinedown quite a bit, last I talked to him. I bet you two would probably have very similar tastes. He's up in Washington, now.

If I recall correctly, he also really liked Avenged Sevenfold.

As far as requests go, I have most of the stuff similar to Breaking Benjamin that I liked, and neither Shinedown nor Avenged Sevenfold really did it for me. Unless there's something similar to Halestorm that you think I wouldn't know about?

Otherwise, I'll just keep looking up the songs you drop and going through my stuff looking for things for you.
ahh, I made the mistake of thinking you wanted lighter rock since most of your stuff has been lighter.
Invincible by Adelitas way is a good upbeat heavish song.
Chevelle is good if you want a bit more mainstream version of Tool
Trying to stick to things you may not have heard, With my Mind by Cold is a very cool song that they made for the game Psy-ops but it is a cool song on it's own.
Vitctim by Eighteen Visions is a good one hit wonder.
Or for a more industrial sound New Disease by Spineshank is good hard angry rock.
>Metalstorm/Face The Slayer - Slayer
>Sun King - The Beatles
>Sappy - Nirvana
>Simple Stuff - Echo & The Bunnymen
>Computerwelt - Kraftwerk

My musical interests and tastes are wide and varied. The only two genres I generally steer clear of is rap and country. Even then, if someone recommends a song to me, I'll usually check it out, as either I'll find out I like it or I may enjoy someone else's cover of it under a different genre.

Icon For Hire isn't bad, so far. I'll probably put them on when I'm in the mood for more rocky-stuff and make a firm decision. I'll probably still keep them around, regardless. Currently listening to "Now You Know" and it reminds me a bit of the style of Repo: A Rock Opera.
Hmmm, Adelitas way's first two albums had a similish sound, if you want a female lead singer there are a couple of good songs by Nightwish, Bye Bye Beautiful and Amaranth

I'm checking them out right now. I have several albums from Chevelle, and I like some of their stuff quite a bit. I also have already dug through Nightwish and picked out everything I like from them. I'll check out the other two after getting through the rest of the previous post.
Sorry for the poor formatting,

Learned about them from Derek of Cattle Decapitation

Adelitas and Eighteen Visions I liked. I'll be thumbing through what else I can find of them to see if they have anything else that catches my interest.

I assume you already know about Kidney Theives and Kill Hannah? Kill Hannah is a bit softer than what you gave me earlier, but you might like them none-the-less. In particular, Lips Like Morphine is a fun song.

I have not heard of either, I will give them a try after I finish with your last list.
Making a playlist of new music that I like to evaluate later.

I'm going to assume you have heard of Cake right?

Nomy is another band I stumbled across online, you better die young and Cocaine are good.

Mindless Self Indulgence, Stupid mother fucker

Otherwise isn't bad either I don't Apologize and Die for you

Powerman 5000 Doesn't get much radio play either but they are fun.

That about covers anything you might not have heard of.

I already nabbed both of those. I've been through Nightwish's stuff. I like many things they do.
Cold was alright, but kind of forgettable. Nothing really stood out for me. Spineshank I've listened to, and most of their stuff I don't get into, New Disease included.

I couldn't really find much to toss your way that I didn't think you already had. Maybe Maximum the Hormone, but I'm hesitant to recommend them as there's only like two songs I think are mediocre enough to be listened to.

Anyway, gonna go make some burgers and then head out. Thanks for the new stuff, I appreciate it!
1. Vein - Cannibal Ox
2. After Hours - We Are Scientists
3. Love Story - Lagwagon
4. This is Hell - Black Flag
5. West Country Dream - The Mountain Goats

Hah, caught me as I was about to head out. Yeah, I've actually got everything that you've listed there. I have several albums of MSI, I like a lot of their stuff. I Hate Jimmy Page is one of my favorites.

Any rate, gonna go be not hungry. Cheers!

reminds me of Red/Chevelle, but there is some sort of static noise at the start, which im unsure if that was intentional

if they had a studio, i think they would be pretty good^^

ty for sharing
2007 me would have been good friends with you
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the static was intentional, the rest of the album sounds really clean. No worries, they're a good band.

Coldplay, Blur, and Gorillaz. Nice.
I agree. I don't get the hate for Coldplay. Then again I'm not an agressive faggot that has to deny that I can feel emotions.
Parachutes was a masterpiece.
