Here's one

Two fathers and their two sons go fishing together. They each catch one fish to take home with them. They do not lose any fish, and yet when they arrive at home they only have three fish. How can this be?

We traveled the sea far and wide. At one time, two of my sailors were standing on opposite sides of the ship. One was looking west and the other one east. And at the same time, they could see each other clearly. How can that be possible?

How far can a fox run into the woods?
>>
This is a really famous one. Let's see how /b/ does.

John and James are on their bicycles, a distance L apart. They begin at the same time to move toward each other, each pedaling as fast as he can, intending to collide. At the instant they begin, their dog, who loves them both, leaves John and runs as fast as he can to James, who pats him on the head. When this happens, he leaves James and runs back to John, who also pats him on the head, at which point he turns and runs back to James. All this is repeated until the bicycles collide.

>How much distance is covered by this crazy, affectionate animal?

Assume that John and James move with constant speeds v1 and v2, respectively, and the dog moves with speed u and is able to turn around instantaneously.

Nope. Two fathers and THEIR two sons implies that there are two sons belonging to either a gay couple or two sons for each father. It can't be a father, a son, and a grandson because then there is only one father and his two sons. The father and son arent the two fathers because that only leaves one son.

Unless he just meant two fathers and two sons. That would have made perfect sense.

Three pirates are returning home and splitting up their loot. It's a bunch of different currencies, gold items, alcohol, weapons, etc.
Each pirate believes he can split up the loot evenly, but they don't trust any of the other pirates.
e.g., if pirate A splits the loot into thirds, pirate B might not necessarily believe that all three parts have equal value - pirate B might think the first third has half the good stuff, the second third has the other half, and the third third has nothing of value, even though pirate A believes all three thirds have equal value.

How do the three pirates split up the loots so nobody feels cheated?

That won't work, the loot is all different - a pirate might feel like someone else got better loot, and the goal is to make all 3 feel like they got at least one third of the loot.

>>701643177
But if pirate A thinks the stack that C thinks is worth one third, is only worth say, 1/6 or 0, pirate A feels cheated. Doesn't work. Read the part about the goal above.

Hint: Think about dividing loot between two people. A divides it in half, B chooses which half. So A thinks each half is worth exactly 1/2, and B chooses the one worth, in his mind, at least 1/2.

4-men-in-hats-puzzle.jpg
16 KB, 489x243
Shown are four men buried up to their necks in the ground.
They can’t move – they can only look forward. Between A and B is a brick wall which is completely opaque (they absolutely can’t see through it). They are all aware that each of them is wearing a hat, and that two of them are wearing a black hat, and two of them are wearing a white hat. They don’t know what color THEY are wearing. However, each of them DOES know where the other three are buried.
In order to avoid being executed, one of them must call out to the executioner the color of their hat. If they get it wrong, everyone will be shot. They can’t talk to each other and have only 10 minutes to figure it out.
After 60 seconds, one of them calls out.
QUESTION: Which one of them calls out? How can he be certain he knows the color of his hat?

C.

He can see that B is wearing a white hat.

He can hear that D hasn't said anything yet, and thus he knows that D doesn't know the color of his own hat.

C knows that D can see both B and C - if B and C were wearing matching hats, D would know the color of his own hat, and would thus have called out.

Given that D hasn't called out, B and C cannot be wearing matching hats.

Thus C knows that he must be wearing a black hat.

First line is

2nd line:
10 + 2b = 18
b = 4

3rd line:
4 - c = 2
c = 2

Here is a chart that shows how the layout:

Size Shape Color Border
1 Small Square Red Yes
2 Large Square Red Yes
3 Large Square Green Yes
4 Large Square Red No
5 Large Circle Red Yes

What's interesting is that there are 5 shapes, but only 4 features. Every category has a variable and all shapes contain one of them except for 2. This is the only shape that shares all of its traits with majority in every category. This is what makes the shape "odd."

It's his father. I'll explain.

First, we know the father is killed in the car accident, but there is a subtle clue in the post that everyone missed. See how he posted a picture of a naked man at the computer. This can only mean that the poster is a faggot.

With that in mind, go back to the riddle. Since the poster is a faggot, he will undoubtedly post subjects matter on faggots. This means the boy was a test tube baby and had 2 fathers. The first father died, presumably with a plug in his ass, and the other faggot father blew his college professors to obtain his medical degree and became a faggot doctor.

But if you look at the blue portal, you see the box coming out of it really fast. If you look into the blue portal, you see the box, on the platform, hurtling towards the blue portal's opening. When the box emerges out of the blue portal, it doesn't come out slowly. It comes out of blue's surface level really fast, because of the piston pushing the yellow onto it.
Since physics taught me that you can put your perspective anywhere you want, we should put our perspective on the yellow/blue portals' shared conceptual surface. In this perspective, the portals are merely a window, and there's a box moving rapidly towards that window. Therefore, the box will emerge from the blue portal's side of the "window" in the relative speed of the box to the yellow portal.
I'll make an illustration in a moment.

Imagine that there's wad of gum stuck to a wall. Imagine that you have a hula hoop. No matter how fast you push your hula hoop onto area surrounding the gum, the gum won't fly off because there's no force being exerted onto the gum.
You could paint of side of the hula hoop blue and the other yellow and do the same thing.

the "answer" is 2, but that's because every other shape has at least 2 things different from all the others except 2
But what people DON'T realize is that only having 1 thing different from every other shape IS a difference because all the other shapes all have 2 things that are different

Meaning that 2 cannot be the answer because they now all have 2 differences
