God tier metal albums. I'll start off with a classic
Belus - Burzum
Almost as good, if not on par with Filosofem
Passion of Death - Apophis
Just saw them live, fucking blew me away. Not much recognition sadly
>not even a single devini downsend album
what is wrong with you people? anyway, here's objectively his best album
I like the one after that better personally, but harvest floor and the new one are all really good
This shit is fucking awesome. Their new album came out today.
HHAHAHA Metal and God Tier on the same sentence!!! Fuck you OP metal is some Justin Bieber shit
Vanitas and Passion are my go-to. the new one is good too
To each his own. This more your speed?
oops, image didn't upload
Motherfucking GWAR niggers.
Im new to this and this is the first Cd ive ever listened to of this genre. Am I heading the right way ?
Kreator is fucking sick. You'd probably like this.
I was prepare to jump in this thread just to say "THIS IS HUH WOW!!" and make fun of people, but actual good taste in metal on my /b/....?
Gold star for you, sir. An absolutely crucial classic for me.
my dudes from baton rouge, Christworm
Metallica - ... And Justice For All
Pantera - A Vulgar Display of Power
Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Cannibal Corpse - Evisceration Plague
The Black Dahlia Murder - Ritual
Black Crown Initiate - The Wreckage of Stars
Arcania - Totalitarian Dystopia
Good list to get you going \m/
Rings of Saturn - Lugal Ki En
The new Infant Annihilator album is pretty sick. And this music video is fucking awesome.
and if you like Portal at all this album is really good, even a little more "accessible" if that's even possible with this kind of stuff. They need to make another album already
Listen to Unhallowed. It's totally different from their other shit. their first album (inb4) is melodeath while the rest is melodeathcore
it's also a beautiful vinyl. pic related, my copy
Ohh yeah, I've been listening to them for a few years now. One band that doesn't change their style too much, but Nocturnal was one of my favorites to be honest. Have you ever tried All Shall Perish? Not really same genre, but it's pretty decent, guitarist (old one) was taught by Rusty Cooley if I'm not mistaken.
Unhallowed > Ritual > Nocturnal > Deflorate > Abysmal > Everblack > Miasma
Found it at a record store in Washington state, I think it was called like Silver Platter or something... I've since seen copies online also
Love that album, really trippy and the ending always gets me
Another one that's extremely underrated imo: Emergence by Shylmagoghnar
>>701632668 (for me) Nocturnal > Unhallowed > Abysmal > Deflorate > Everblack > Ritual > Miasma
Ritual is damn good, I agree, Miasma wasn't their best. But you didn't enjoy Everblack as much?
In Hell is where She Waits for me was a good one, then again now that I think about it, it wasn't really their best work.
what is wrong with you people
I feel like I would think better of Everblack if it didn't come right after Ritual. Imo the vocals in Everblack were like a slightly underwhelming version of Ritual's vocals. Furthermore, even though there wasn't really a whole lot wrong with Everblack, nothing really stood out about it either, it's just kinda there. In Hell She Waits and Into the Everblack are the only songs I can remember being good in any measure above "fine"
This bands EP is fucking sick.
Whoever recommended me this in one of these threads is a fucking hero.
Can anyone recommend me some good atmospheric BM in the vein of Caladan Brood and Summoning? Been ODing on this and Old Mornings Dawn and I need more.
My contribution. You guys likely know this one already though.
Btw, can someone help me out a bit here? I only recently made the switch over from nu-metal (KoRn/Slipknot style, not fucking Bizkit/LP shit), to death metal, and I want more like this album! I want something powerful and heavy, but also melodic. Any suggestions?
More people need to hear this album!
I don't actually like their old stuff so much anymore, it's much harsher, less refined, and way too much of a direct rip-off of At The Gates. It look them a few albums to finally write stuff that was really their own. Not to mention the production quality and song writing improved more by the the time they got to Nocturnal and after that. And finally got a lead guitar player who could actually play leads
Here is a 2nd Alt sense Anon and myself posted same recommendation https://youtu.be/Ve9tqUlrpws
Ok filosem is Great, but holy fuck the rest of this thread is straight autistic neckbeard tier/hot topic tier cancer. WHERE IS THE TRVE SHIT? This is just proof /b/ has devolved into a 12-16 year olds with autism board
Now listen to some TRVE FUCKING METAL
Dang! Bout cut myself on that edge bro.
> "Genres: Melodic Death Metal"
viking metal is a theme, death metal is a musical style. Shut the fuck up NuFag go eat some Korn
real nigga shit
Because they lack nearly all characteristics of death metal.
I'd say they play more of a sped-up mix of traditional heavy metal and thrash metal with guttural vocals, which is the only distinctive "death" part in their music. Calling them melodic anything doesn't make any sense either, because they lack that feature too.
Here's something melodic for reference:
