I'm a Muslim ask me anything.

Remember we don't need to pray all day everyday to be muslims the same way you don't need to go to church 24/7 to be Christian.

Let's have a good discussion and avoid buzzword filled questions.

I'll answer to trolls within reason.

Buzzword questions. Thanks for reading the thread.

You are only scratching the surface of what religion is. I have studied many religions, philosophies and schools of thought in different countries.

There is no reason for you to hate any ideology, especially one that you do not understand. Why put so much energy into disliking something? What makes you hate Islam so much? What makes Islam the 'worst'?

What part of religion is so bullshit?

Please try to go deep into the answers and your subsequent replies. I have considered and studied all the broad first layer questions pertaining to religion. These are literally the first things that we go over in studying religion.

>>
>>700843681
Exactly. Prayer is a good part of the day. It is the Muslim synonymy to meditation in Eastern religions. Meditation and regularity in human lives brings peace to the mind. This then helps people live better lives.

I was born and raised in Morocco, then China, and I currently live in Canada.

>>700844149
I am a serious practitioner of Islam in its fundamental form. The fundamental form is not what the word has been perverted to mean. It is the root of what Islam is. Islam is the jihad of an individual against his inner self. And much more. Moreover, it is the adherence of an individual to the five pillars of Islam and the ten commandments as told in the Q'ran. These are useful guidelines, some that we can benefit from.

95% or more Muslims are simply Muslim by association and know nothing about the religion.

Why is it that people are this confused? Every time people make this comment in the thread, in fact you aren't the first today.

We pray 5 times a day for a few minutes each time. This makes up approximately 1 hour in total. Which in conclusion, is not all day everyday. It is simply everyday.
>>
>>700844752

As far as I understand, the majority of Islamic values are intrinsically human values, and not dissimilar from the Christian commandments. Are there any commandments where the Bible and Q'ran overly disagree?
>>
>>700845115
5 times a day. if u dont hurry at all and do it with patient it will take you maximum amount of time of 1 hour a day. i think i finish it within 40 mins or less. the 40 mins are like he said like meditation with movements you can see people do while making yoga. no one ever forced me to pray. i started it after i was 18/19 years old and after i read many religious books which i learned from that it is just good for me to pray

I think this will answer your question. Moses is a Islamic prophet. The commandments he presented onto the chosen people in Israel after having saved them for Egypt are holy to Muslims. They were told onto Moses by God. God does not stutter. The ten commandments from the Hebrews, which were then adopted by the Catholics are equally as holy to Muslims.

The ten commandments are exactly the same in all Abrahamic religions because they were only written once by Moses as told to him by God.

I guess for me, partly, it's the revelation that sex with slaves is okay. I mean phew, that one came just in time for Mohammed you know.

Also I doubt a real God would be cool with his messenger selling that God's children.

I do quite a bit of volunteering work, and donate significantly to organizations I believe in. I am open to teach and do tutoring help for free any time someone in my community needs. I try to do my best to bring a positive energy into the world through my actions, words and thoughts.

>>700846789
I also know of a Muslim guy who planned the hijacking of planes to kill thousands of innocent people. People come in all different states of mind, some positive and some negative.

Prayer is only beneficial if it is done sincerely. Doing random movements has no significance. However, doing these movements as means of meditation is very different.

Moreover, knowing the Q'ran by heart, and doing empty prayers will have no benefit. It is much more important to have a deep understanding of a few surrahs (passages) instead of memorizing the entirety of the Q'ran yet understanding none of it. The same is true for prayer. It is better to do 1 good prayer a day and feel the power it brings, as opposed to doing five empty prayers.

Most people simply learn Q'ran and do their prayers due to social pressures. They do it to please others. That is not their intent and is hurtful to yourself. It is also sinful.

I see.
As Allah says the quran is the clear book, the well defined book, the book wich makes all things clear.
This verse is a good one to know and also to know that it stands for eternity since is has not been abrogated.
"O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness." (Qur'an 9:123)
Allah is pretty smart. He has every word ever spoken and every word that will be sopken and he chooses carefully the word "fight".
Sure Allah could have said ignore, have a debate, be kind, be understanding, tolerate, bring them a casserole, etc.. But no, he said fight. Allah knows best
>>
>>700844171
The only way to truly be a good person in any religion is by not following exactly what ever your religious book says.
Everyone of them talks about slavery, justified murder against non believers, etc.

Religion has caused so maybe wars and problems in this world, it truly is a plague on humanity.

You can be a moral good person without believing some imaginary friend is watching what you do.
>>
>>700842740

>>
>>700848725
>Everyone of them talks about slavery
Slavery is not condoned and is not a commandment. Allah revealed that sex with slaves is not forbidden, therefore it is condoned. And of course you cannot have sex with a slave if you are not allowed to keep slaves.
Talking "about" slaves is much different than revealing that it's okay to have them. They are not the same thing.
And Allah knows best.

>>700842740
Allah didn't define what "subdued" means.
Qur’an 9:29—Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Could it be that one moslems definition of subdued is different than another moslems definition? And which definition of subdued is correct?
For example, if a moslem want to make an unbeliever feel subdued so he smashes his face with a bat, but another moslem want to kick him in the face instead, which one is correctly subduing the unbeliever?

I believe in most aspects of Sharia. Some parts must be interpreted carefully, and punishments need to be understood in relation to modern technology and lifestyles.

Muslims are the most targeted group by ISIS. ISIS kills more Muslims than any other group. Therefore, they are way more than tired.

Killing Muslims is what led to the creation of ISIS. Do you think continuing the same detrimental actions will lead to any positive solutions?

>>700847747
Slavery in Islam is just a lower class of society. They have many protections in terms of abuse (physical, psychological and sexual). These slaves could be bought and a contract must exist between a citizen and a slave.

This concept equally exists in Christianity and Judaism. From which Islam came to be.

Thats kind of silly. Nowhere did Allah or the Christian God say anything about prevent accidents, or making sure life for everyone would be perfect.
However a real god ask that his children not slaughter others for the simple act of having different ideas.
"If then anyone transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him" (Qur'an 2:194)

"If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Matthew 5:39)

How could you sit there and watch a child starve to death or be stricken with a crippling disease that causes the person to die a slow and painful death.

Even if god was real, why would you want to worship that asshole?

The d'jinn are like many of the parts in the Q'ran, they are a story. Maybe they are physical, maybe they are metaphysical.

Literally. The d'jinn are a 4th dimensional being that were displaced by God when he gave their place to the humans. The d'jinn were moved to a different location. These creatures exist much like we do, with good d'jinn, bad d'jinn, all kinds of d'jinn. Some of them who care, have a strong dislike for humans and want to cause us problems as revenge for their displacements. Others are good to humans and help us but these are apparently more rare.

You are taking a very catholic/Protestant interpretation to God. Even other Christians from more pure denominations disagree with your flawed understanding of God. God is not a guy in the sky playing with his little toy figures. As was told onto Moses, which is in the Torah, the Bible and the Q'ran. God is as he is, he is everything that is, has been and is not. Some Christians have misinterpreted this. A Jewish philosopher said that once you start to define God you have already placed too many boundaries onto the entirety that God is.

In this context, yes, God is the natural disaster, disease and all other ailments and goods. Moreover, God is not there only for humans, he is there for all things that are.

If Christians and Muslims serve the same God, have the same Prophets. Old Testament law and Shariah law are very similar. Why is there such a massive breakdown between the two religions over the concept of trinity? It doesn't matter whether Christ was the son of God, or if it's an allegory. It doesn't matter if he died and was raised from the dead. All that matters is that God is God and that ultimately his will is above all else. All a good Christian, good Muslim needs to do is live in such a way that the will of God is served.

The ant talking to Soloman is a story. Most of the Q'ran and other Abrahamic religious stories are stories used to pass a message. The religion had to be transmitted to all people. Some of these people will have no education, others will have a lot of education. These stories are used to transmit messages in such a way that everyone can understand their essence.

Quran, 25:53
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.

Also people are attracted to these kind of nationalist movements. The success of recruitment by ISIS is similar to the Nazis. In hindsight, who would join them? The current state of the countries is a product of a declined society due to internal struggles and colonization. For example, Morocco where I am from, is deeply corrupt and filled with problem. The King sold out to the French colonial forces and they started hoarding all the resources. The French are now formally out of Morocco, yet still financially present. However, the King still has control over all the resources. He owns every single resource. It's ridiculous.

Now consider that Morocco is one of the least damaged countries by decline and then colonialism. Therefore, amplify the problems of Morocco and you get what you see in other countries. It also does not help that their are geo-political interests in having control of the Middle-east therefore they are at high risk of war.

Out of the countries you've been to, Turkey is the most free. The Gulf countries are a terrible place.

God is not a subject of exist or does not exist. He is everything that is and is not. He encompasses all things. Refer to the first answer in: >>700852912.

God is the collective ensemble of everything. He is life as we see it and how we still haven't seen it.

So Islam actually believes there was a garden of Eden? It isn't just an allegory of creation? It actually believes a man and woman ate a fruit from a tree? This is why I am a pantheist. I don't believe any of it. I believe it's "wise old men" who told stories to the "ants" in their minds i.e. They judged people too stupid to know the "truth" about God so they told them childish stories instead. Now the children argue over the stories instead of the truth. God is greater than any man can ever understand. Just look at the vastness of space! No. The true creator or creative force isn't at all concerned with our opinions and determinations. Let alone our little fables.

My bad, it didn't have the (You) next to it for some reason.

So you're admitting that these "miracles" never really happened? Then what proof is there that what these "prophets" say is real?

>This does not really say they cannot mix.
>and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.

Set theory is useful to understand this.

First we must understand that the set, is everything that is, has been and is not. In essence the set is infinity.

S = {-inf, inf} in R^inf.

Now we can talk about subsets of what God is. However we must understand that God is much more than this subset. He is the set, S. The subset, s, is only a part of the whole.

For example, if we talk about God's generosity.

s = {generosity}

By definition, generosity is in the set, S, we have defined which is the infinite set.

Why Islam?

In general Abrahamic religions have a very interesting perspective on the struggle with the inner self. It states that humans have inert desires, these being detrimental (evil), in opposition it is our duty to do the hard thing and no succumb to these desires. To fight against these desires and urges to do the right things.

In day to day life. Immediate pleasures are easy to come by, however they are temporary and often leave you with more emptiness than well being. Long term achievements and struggles are those you will be proud of, things that will bring you fulfillment. This is amplified in the Q'ran compared to the Torah and Bible, this is the concept of jihad.

Muslims then believe that the most important thing one can do in his life is the liberation of the mind from the body. To free your spirit from these worldly acts, to understand the potential of the human as a thinking being and not just a vessel moving through time.

Many other religions in the East address these issues as well. Jainism is very interesting and I have studied it. It is actually very similar to fundamental Sufi Islam. I can keep going.

nice tirps. In the Q'ran all people, man and women, must dress in a modest way. From this traditional clothing are appropriated to each interpretation of the religion based on the culture that existed before Islam came to the region. The burka comes from the Gulf countries. In Morocco, which is at the western tip of north africa. Women wear only hijab, or african style head wraps. In Iran, women wear hijab in a completely different way.

In the Q'ran, the man and woman is responsible for all their own actions and thoughts. It is by those they will be judged.

>>700856532
There is no proof it is real. However, if in practice it bring positivity to an individual and a community then it must have some use. Think of religion much like traditional medicine. Religion is analogous to it. It is the precursor to understanding and appeasing the complex structure that is the mind.

Do we See a set of rules and stories that someone came up with to bring the humans in balance with themselves and the persons around Them, leading to the creation of peace and developing of knowledge,
the whole Dogma created by humans

or do we See it as something a being bigger than everything put into the minds of chosen people to enlighten them and lead to the same things AS mentioned above?

Religion and state should be separate. However, by virtue of morality, the morals of the state should adhere to the morals of the people which are influenced by religious texts. This is how democracy works. I think religion is between an individual and himself. God stated that the first jihad is a personal jihad, start there. The state is a separate entity.

Radicalization as we see it now in the Middle-east is a product of war. It will not lead to a positive end, I am convinced.

>>700858219
Exactly. Religion is a personal journey.

>>700858331
I said why not Jainism or Sufi Islam. They are not reasonable to follow in modern society, or in any society. They are idealized structured philosophies. Beautiful and I wish we could all be this pure, but the world is not so.

For example, Jains with whom I lived cooked with cow poop. Yes, I ate the food... However, how would I do that in Canada. Jains don't eat anything that is grown under the earth or that has a 'soul'. This does not leave much in terms of nutrition. This mean no potatoes, carrots, garlic. Jains do not eat after sunset, only drink water. This is a lot to follow.

Pure Sufi Islam, does not allow any possessions. You must live for the present. You cannot own anything. Only a cloth. Each day you must go spend the whole day doing pure works, small jobs to help people, and receive charities. You are then to feed yourself, find a shelter and give the rest to people who cannot make money on their own.

These are good ideals, but are not reasonable.

A religion should be something that helps you in your life. It has to be adaptable to your life. Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, .... all are appropriate.

Buddhism. I also studied Buddhism, in China and Vietnam. I also went as close as possible to Nepal and Tibet, although barred :(, to learn more. Buddhism has a lot of very good ideas. I like the idea of nirvana and finding the eternal truth. I'll continue.

Most Muslim people i know tell me that there should be some Kind of midway between secularised and State Religion

The eropeans had Bad experiences with the curch having too much power so the went the extreme way of splitting them drastically

The opposite direction are States like Iran

My personal opinion: every state should follow key ethic principelles(men equal women, no slavery . Freedom of belief, speech etc. PP), democracy and the split between legis, executiv and judicativ.
>>
>>700860588

Radicalisation in the middle east has been ongoing for decades. My family fled Iran in the 70s.

If the people are forced by law to obey one religious order (iran eventually allowed christianity and judaism), then the government will claim that there morals are all aligned.

There is a lot of violent backlash against democratic voices in Egypt, Tunisia, Iran, Saudi, etc..

stop being an apologist, accept that the current manifestation of Statist-Islam is not democratic or conducive to basic human rights.

However, Buddhism is filled with very strange beliefs. Western media just doesn't represent religions in their entirety, they only show people what people want to see. They show only positive things about religions we perceive as good, Chstianity, buddhism and bad things about religions we perceive as bad, Islam. This is dangerous. But, it is your own duty to teach yourself.

Buddhism has a lot of weird parts, starting with a cast system. Imagine being forced by your faith to follow in your father's path. If that was the case I would still be a peasant in Morocco. I am my own individual. A free mind. I do what I please in this world while maintaining my morality. I really do like Buddhism though. It's one of my favorite practices and I have learned a lot from the monks. Their meditation is much more effective than only 5 prayers. I do my prayers, but I do much more meditation. Protip: this does not just mean sitting silently, that is not meditating.

no you don't understand my statement (apologetic means to defend btw).

Justice is not a democratic game, it should be independent of what the demos believe.

if you are obliged by law to adhere to a religion, then it is a totality that the people's moral will is represented by that religion. I live in europe, I dont know a single moroccan who thinks it should be illegal to walk alone with a western woman, yet in morocco it is against the law.

say it, these religious governments are dangerous, and don't represent the people or their morals.
>>
>>700862352
Not the guy who asked the 1. question you replied to in this post

Yeah in a democracy the majority rules, but we have to have some Kind of regulations in what the public can enforce

If lets say there would be an election about purging an ethnic minority via military Intervention and the majority of the people vote for this, in a pure Democracy the will of the many is enforced.

So democracy needs some Kind of regulation to not get Plebiszit

There is no place in the Quran where Muhammad tells Muslims to love people of other religions.

From each period in Muhammad's life, scattered across 87 of the Quran's 114 chapters,
there are at least three dozen verses that tell believers to fight against non-Muslims,
and about 500 that speak of their place in Hell.

The root word for Islam is “al-Silm,” which means “submission” or “surrender.”
Arabic or Islamic scholars agree, an Arabic word has only one root and
al-Silm (submission) does not mean the same thing as al-Salaam (peace).

The quran not only calls Muslims to submit to Allah,
it also orders them to subdue people of other religions until they are in a full state of submission to Islamic rule.

Muhammad organized 65 military campaigns in the last ten years of his life and personally led 27 of them.

verse 5:32

"
Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors."

>>
Quran (7:80-84) - "...For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.... And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone)"

Islam hates homosexuals.
https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/quran/homosexuality.aspx

In the Quran:
- non-muslims are not considered innocent civilians and are guilty of disbelief (45:31, 83:29) – the worst crime.

- non-Muslims are against Allah (25:55); on the side of the Satan and are fighting for him (4:76-77); “evil” (16:27, 2:91, 2:99); the “wrong-doers” (2:254, 5:45); the “enemy” and “perverted” (63:4); “wicked” (80:42, 9:125); hypocrites (4:61); “unclean” (9:28).

- non-Muslims are not fully human but are the “worst of created beings” (98:6); “miscreants” (2:99, 24:55); “the worst beasts in Allah’s sight” (8:55), “apes” and/or “pigs” (2:65-66, 5:58-60, 7:166), and so on.

--------------------

Verse 60:4 says followers of Allah will hate the disbelievers forever, unless the disbelievers come to believe in Allah only.

Think about this thorough demonization of disbelievers, together with the conception of disbelief as the worst possible crime.

Now think about how easy it would be for a Quran-believing Muslim to find a non-Muslim guilty of corruption on earth or war against God.

In fact, many verses in the Quran order the killing of various kinds of disbelievers (33:61, 4:76, 4:89-91, 8:12, 9:41, 9:5, 9:29, 61:11, etc.).
Believers must honor their duty to Allah and fight the disbelievers in battle, or be punished in hell (2:216, 8:15-16, 9:39).

Although the Quran explicitly forbids the murder of Muslims (4:93), the Quran does not contain a similar statement that forbids the killing or murder of non-Muslims.

Democracy in those countries dient grow, it just came out of nowhere.
Yeah your peop!e habe power now, hooray!

But you can habe the best Bill of rights, a secularised state and Jurisdiktion based around the fact that every human being is equall

If the people of the country didnt have the mindset that is needed to keep such a state the way it is, it will eventually go back to its roots, because the people didnt fight for democracy or equality, it just happend to come by when they lost the war

There should not be any laws that force people to adhere to any religion or ideology. Yet most of the oppressive governments aren't really religious as they leave out many facets of the religion. What government gives zakat?

If it is illegal to walk with a western woman in Morocco then it is the same as it being illegal to have oral sex in a few US states. It is not enforced, it is a remnant of ancient legislation that has not yet been revised. I have brought many many friends to Morocco. Asian, white, even a half black half asian girl. We go to the beach and everything. No one can say anything.

>>700863084
Sadly, there is no way to set that standard. That's how the Nazis got into power. They were voted in democratically and then the evil things they did were all done through legislation.

"who kills one person is like like he killed all the humanity" is not printed in the quran in translated nor arabic version.

What is actually presented by apologists like you is a distorted, out-of-context and misleading paraphrasing of the following verse: Qur'an 5:32
On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone slew a person - unless it be in retaliation for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew all mankind: and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all humanity.

This verse is written in past tense (Ordained, not Ordain) and clearly does not apply to Muslims but to "the Children of Israel" i.e. the Jews who, according to Islam, received an earlier set of scriptures. In fact, it is mistakingly referencing a rabbinical commentary found in the Talmud as if it were the words of Allah.

Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

What is required: someone abides by the ten commandments and the five pillars of Islam. It is not explicitly stated what the pillars are, but the pillars are the five most prevalent messages in the Q'ran. That is what is said to make a Muslim.

You are right. Islam, is neither a religion of peace nor violence. It is an ideology. A violent person will have a violent interpretation, a peaceful person will have a peaceful interpretation. Religion provides a path for a better life to both individuals. A way to live more morally.

These links are well researched.
This links state facts about the quran.

The quran is not a book of peace.
Islam is not the religion of peace.

About apostasy you then disagree with the quran:

Quran (4:89) - "They wish that you should reject faith as they reject faith, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of God; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper." Verse 4:65 says that those who have faith are in "full submission" to Muhammad's teachings. This verse explains what should happen to Muslims who do not have faith.
Quran (9:11-12) - "But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge. And if they break their pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding oaths - in order that they may desist."

Other verses that seem to support the many Hadith that establish the death sentence for apostates are Quran verses 2:217, 9:73-74, 88:21, 5:54, 9:66.

Again leaving islam (apostasy)

Hadith and Sira
The most reliable Hadith collection contain numerous accounts of Muhammad and his companions putting people to death for leaving Islam. According to verse 4:80 of the Quran: "Those who obey the Messenger obey Allah."

Sahih Bukhari (52:260) - "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

Sahih Bukhari (83:37) - "Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate."

Sahih Bukhari (84:57) - [In the words of] "Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"

Sahih Bukhari (89:271) - A man who embraces Islam, then reverts to Judaism is to be killed according to "the verdict of Allah and his apostle."
>>
>>700867195
I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty uneducated when it comes to what -exactly- sharia law is.

From what I've been told and/or seen on tv and media, sharia law is pretty much the idea that if you disagree with the quran and its teachings, or if you are a non believer, if you don't accept Mohammad and become a Muslim, you accept death.

Is this essentially what Sharia law is? If not could you please tell me how I am wrong?

Again leaving islam (apostasy)

Sahih Bukhari (84:58) - "There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu'adh asked, 'Who is this (man)?' Abu Muisa said, 'He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.' Then Abu Muisa requested Mu'adh to sit down but Mu'adh said, 'I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice.' Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, 'Then we discussed the night prayers'"

Sahih Bukhari (84:64-65) - "Allah's Apostle: 'During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, wherever you find them, kill them, for whoever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection.'" This verse from the Hadith is worse than it appears because it isn't speaking solely of apostates, but those who say they believe but don't put their religion into practice.

Sahih Bukhari (11:626) - "The Prophet said, 'No prayer is harder for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the 'Isha' prayers and if they knew the reward for these prayers at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to crawl.' The Prophet added, 'Certainly I decided to order the Mu'adh-dhin (call-maker) to pronounce Iqama and order a man to lead the prayer and then take a fire flame to burn all those who had not left their houses so far for the prayer along with their houses'."
>>
Again leaving islam (apostasy)

Abu Dawud (4346) - "Was not there a wise man among you who would stand up to him when he saw that I had withheld my hand from accepting his allegiance, and kill him?" Muhammad is chastising his companions for allowing an apostate to "repent" under duress. (The person in question was Muhammad's former scribe, who left him after doubting the authenticity of divine "revelations" - upon finding out that grammatical changes could be made. He was brought back to Muhammad after having been captured in Medina).

al-Muwatta of Imam Malik (36.18.15) - "The Messenger of Allah said, "If someone changes his religion - then strike off his head."

Reliance of the Traveller (Islamic Law) o8.1 - "When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed." (o8.4 affirms that there is no penalty for killing an apostate).

In 2016, the Islamic State beheaded a 14-year-old boy in front of his parents for missing prayers. This was consistent with Muhammad's order to burn those who would not pray (along with their houses), which he issued near the end of his life. When this happened, there was barely a peep of protest from the Muslim world.

Volume 1, Book 11, Number 626:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "No prayer is harder for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the 'Isha' prayers and if they knew the reward for these prayers at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to c awl." The Prophet added, "Certainly I decided to order the Mu'adh-dhin (call-maker) to pronounce Iqama and order a man to lead the prayer and then take a fire flame to burn all those who had not left their houses so far for the prayer along with their houses."

You're constructing one hell of a strawman here, just like muslims always do when trying to defend a religion that tells them to murder everyone who doesn't agree with them.
>inb4 you fags say lol its the fastest growing religion in the world something must be right!
threatening someone with death unless they convert =/= they actually agree with the religion itself. they have to agree with you or you'll kill them. doesn't mean you actually have decent beliefs. just means you have a gun and they don't.

Have you ever been called a terrorist by a random simply because of your appearance?

Do you feel like the shit that ISIS does gives you and everyone who identifies as a Muslim, a bad name. Or a worse name.

Do you agree with the banning of the burqa in Britain? (Or other places that may soon ban it as well)

Do you wear traditional muslim clothing?

And finally, assuming you live in a predominantly muslim country, have you been local too or even seen a ISIS style murder/bombing?

No. No one except God can make that judgement. Islam states that their are graver offenses depending on the effect of the sin on the lives of others. The question I posed is philosophical, there is no answer. We can all have opinions about the issue. I would state that the man who beats his wife is much worse due to effect of his acts as compared to the other. But, that is my perspective of an issue only God can evaluate.

Thanks for your replies, mate. Much appreciated.

I've got a couple more.

Do you have negative feelings towards Americans? Or do you understand why there is this theme of hating Americans throughout Islamic countries?

I'm a christian, well, I was raised as one. However seeing that America has killed millions of muslims compared to the thousands of Americans killed... really makes me think sometimes. Perhaps their hatred is justified?

Not saying that attacking Americans is justified, though. But if the people of my religion were getting murdered by the millions and yet I??? came across as the bad guy because I am a muslim... i'd probably hate the Americans too.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them

If it's so simple, why are you failing to comprehend it this badly? Let me use small words then.

If I punch someone in the face after he called me a name, that person just got punched because he called me a name. We call that "causality". He took an action, that produced a reaction.

Just like when you kill someone because they don't believe like you do. You killed someone because of your religious belief that they deserve to be killed for not believing like you do. i.e. and heres the most important bit so pay attention...

that person is dead now because of a religious belief. abolishing the religion that told you to do it gets rid of the belief that justified it in your mind, and stops others from following the religion that tells them to do the same fucking thing.

Neither, it is an ideology. Like Darwins theory of evolution. It's supposed to be a neither violent or peaceful scientific discovery. However, it laid the ground work for social-darwinism by violent people who interpreted the scientific discovery violently.

But the quran ask many times to kill others, mostly non-believers.

And the prophet Muhammad organized 65 military campaigns in the last ten years of his life and personally led 27 of them.

From each period in Muhammad's life, scattered across 87 of the Quran's 114 chapters, there are at least three dozen verses that tell believers to fight against non-Muslims, and about 500 that speak of their place in Hell.

How can the quran and islam not be a violent religion.

The scientific theory of evolution does not ask anyone to kill in its name.

The reality is that the earliest accounts of Jesus coming out of the first-century A.D. show that the He was no mere prophet. Jesus did and said things no mere prophet could ever do or say. There are things reported about Him that could not be ascribed to any mere prophet and thus historically and theologically speaking – Jesus is more than just a prophet – Jesus is God. Lord willing this information will be useful to those Muslims being drawn to Christ who truly want to know what the first-century accounts say about Him.

Christ has risen, He is Lord.

#1 If Jesus is merely a prophet then why does John 5:23 state that, “… everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him” (John 5:23 ESV)? Wouldn’t honoring Jesus just as, or in the same way we honor the Father be blasphemy if Jesus is merely a prophet? Would it be acceptable for a Muslim to honor Muhammad in the same way and to the same extent that they honor Allah? The primary definition of Greek word for “just as” (kathōs) is “… according as, just as, even as, in proportion as, in the degree that.”1 Thus, there is no question that this verse is commanding believers to honor, revere, or venerate Jesus to the same degree as we honor, revere and venerate the Father. Since the Father is to be honored as God and to the greatest extent, so is Jesus. Therefore, Jesus is not a mere prophet.

If Jesus is merely a prophet then why in Revelation 5:8-14 does it say that in heaven every creature including angels and elders will worship Jesus saying He is worthy of praise, glory, honour and power forever and ever? If Jesus is a mere prophet and not God, doesn’t this derogate from worship that God alone deserves? If it is worship only due to God doesn’t this prove that the first-century texts are affirming that Jesus is more than just a prophet? Revelation 5:8-14 says:

And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped. (Revelation 5:8-14 NIV).

While there are some key differences, they are at base the same, sharing you life with someone, and about polygamy, while it is permissible for someone to marry 4 wives in islam, regardless of who they are, the permisibility of it comes from very extreme cases, I would say 95% of people Ive ever seen only marry one woman, but some people sometimes need more.

Now, he obviously must tell her and it must be discussed that he might do it before marriage, and if not discussed she is able to call for a divorce that favors the man when it comes down to possessions, if it is prediscussed then the husband must treat both wives equally and any lopsided behaviour will be judged by god on the day of judgment, and if that behaviour is obvious then she can call for a divorce that favors her when it comes down to possesions.

History has been manipulated by 3rd century church.
Basically, a lie was created to pretend jesus was the messiah.

The propehcy: a Messiah descended from King David, and would be born in behtlehem.

Why do Matthew and Luke gospels seem to trace the genealogy of Jesus through Joseph, when they deny that he is his biological father?

According to Christian teachings, Jesus had only a human Jewish mother, and was not related to Joseph.
A human Jewish father, however is essential for anyone to be a legitimate heir to the throne of David, which the real messiah will be.

Mary’s genealogy is completely irrelevant to Jesus’ supposed lineage to King David.
For good reason, nowhere in the New Testament is Mary’s genealogy recorded.

As mentioned above, matrilineal ancestry is irrelevant to tribe identification.

Both the first chapter of Matthew and in the third chapter of Luke contain a putative genealogy of Joseph alone.
Although these two genealogies completely contradict each other, neither suggests that Mary was a descendant of king of David.
Joseph’s genealogy is irrelevant to Jesus because according to two out of four Gospels claim that Joseph was not Jesus’ father.
The author of the Book of Mark, the earliest of the four Gospels, knows nothing of a virgin birth, and accordingly, begins his book with the baptism of Jesus.
The Book of John contains no infancy narrative.

It should be noted that both Catholic and Protestant traditions hold that whereas Matthew’s genealogy is that of Joseph, Luke’s genealogy is of Mary.
Although this tradition is nowhere to be found in the New Testament, it was a necessary doctrine (basically a lie) for the Church to adopt it for jesus to be a descendant of David.

Nowhere in the third Gospel, or in the entire New Testament, for that matter, is there a claim that Mary was a descendant of the House of David.

On the contrary, Luke plainly asserts that it is Joseph who was from the House of David, not Mary.

In Islam, he is just a prophet. Muhammad is their Jesus, apparently. Even though he never claimed to actually be the son of God to qualify for your particular loophole.

Ba'hai believe that all prophets carry the same message from God, and that we're all following the same religion dressed in different clothes. And they preach about accepting those who chose to follow a different messenger. And that's why they're being imprisoned for life and murdered for their beliefs in Iran and Saudi Arabia.
>>
>>700873638

In Luke 2: Mary and Joseph traveled to the town for a census prior to Jesus's birth.

- There is no record of Caesar Augustus' decree that "all the world should be enrolled".
The Romans kept extremely detailed records of such events.
Every five years the Romans enumerated citizens and their property to determine their liabilities.
The property tax was collected on site by travelling assessors, thus making unnecessary Joseph's journey away from what little property he must have owned.

- It has long been known that Tertullian held that S. Sentius Saturninus, not Quirinius, was governor at the time of Jesus' birth.
Saturninus ruled from 9-6 B.C.E., the period most likely to be Jesus' birth time.
P. Quintilius Varus was governor during the next most likely period of 6-4 B.C.E.
M. Titius was in Syria ca. 10 B.C.E.
Quirinius himself was very much occupied during this time, having been assigned to the campaign in Cilicia in Asia Minor from ca. 11-3 B.C.E.
Some say that Quirinius had an unrecorded term as Syria's governor during the time of Jesus' birth but it was unheard of that a proconsul would become a legate twice in the same province.

We can now understand why Jesus never mentions his birth in Bethlehem; and that, except for the birth stories, Jesus is always connected with Nazareth.

jesus cannot be the messiah.

It's almost as if the entire Islamic population has NEVER heard the phrase "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" before.

If you kill 20 people for the misdeed of one, you just put yourself in debt by 19 eyes. Eventually, those 19 will kill your family, which breeds 20 more eyes to be taken, which breeds 40 more eyes to be taken, and on and on.

Eventually, you'll run out of eyes and start wondering why the rest of the world keeps bombing your homes trying to stop your killing spree.

>Our laws and ideologies are actually very similar to Christians. More than 99% is similar actually.

Yeah, please list me all the western nations that legally punish/execute atheists and homosexuals. Or enforce sharia law. Or force women to wear hijabs. Or corroboration of rape has must have the witnesses of 4 men, otherwise the women is guilty of sex out of marriage(Quran 24:4) and can be stoned to death. Or that men can legally and forcibly rape their wives, at any time, without punishment(Quran 2:223).

There are literally hundreds of more fucked up things about Islam.

You are comparing judicial systems and governments that are religious based to governments that possessed religious values but made laws to not favor/follow religions and that people have a right to do process, which does not exist in Islam.

Islam is a cancer bestowed upon humanity and when the people get sick of it, it will be eradicated.

> I am Muslim by what is required by the Q'ran and the Q'ran is what is important.

But OP, I asked if people who commit apostasy (leaving islam) should be killed and you replied: no.

I asked you if people who do not pray 5 times daily should be burnt as the prophet asked to be done, and you replied: no.

Basically, you disagree with the words of the prophet, and you disagree with the words of the quran.

Therefore, you cannot be a "muslim by what is required by the Q'ran and the Q'ran is what is important" as you say you are.

OP, care to comment?

"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind".

It's really the only way to phrase that concept. Killing someone for revenge, means their family will kill you as revenge, which means your family will kill them for revenge, which means their family will kill yours for revenge, forever.

Most wars were started by atheists/agnostics for power or land. Learn some history, fucking pleb.

It means people will just keep killing each other until theres no one left to kill. That's why Christianity abandoned it thousands of years ago. What is a religion without its followers?

If here is no higher power, how does one drfine moral? Who says killing the weak is wrong? What about mating with kids? How about cannibalism? All those things are done by animals in nature so why not humans?

Kind of bored of answering the same questions but fine.

you cant punish atheists and homosexuals in non sharia law settings.

You arent supposed to force women to wear hijab.

"Fale rape accusations", it also has to do with the fact that every claim needs to have proof legally in islam.

>There are literally hundreds of more fucked up things about Islam.

Right, tell me more.

>Islam is a cancer bestowed upon humanity and when the people get sick of it, it will be eradicated.

You cant eradicate Islam as it is protected by god, but nice try there mate.

>>700877280
No thats not how it works in islam, if someone kills your son for an example, the score board is 0-1, you get to make it 1-1, any further killings are against sharia.

Eastern philosophy goes with the concept of an eye for an eye. It is not about killing innocent people.

If a rapist raped your sister, you do not rape the rapist sister, the eye for an eye is about justice. You give in return what the rapist did. (i.e.justice).

I swear that shit book Holes popularized this misnomer of this rather beautiful concept.

I feel like this oversimplifies the role religion plays in the average believers household. It's not just about having faith that someones up there watching everything you do. Most people use religion to teach their children right from wrong, and as a shortcut for keeping their kids in check. "Because God says so" is easier than explaining the details of your reasoning to a 7 year old.

Then you get adults that don't have a solid foundational framework of understanding the world and do dumb shit.
