I imagine it's tough. About the time I started med school there was a big stream of pre-med students choosing to go into pharmacy or physician's assistant programs because the pay is still really good and the loans are quite as crippling.
If I had it to do over, I'd really have to think about it. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, and there is a student loan collection agency waiting just outside of it.

you plan and budget and never pay more than
10% of your total income towards debts
set up a form of recurring payments and forget about it, any windfalls of money ...put aside 25% of whatever that was towards that debt
she payed her's off in 8 years, it sucks but it's doable and as long as they see that you're being a responsible adult ...they will work with you anyhow
but you have to get that job though, prioritize all your energy to that ASAP after you graduate
and in less than 10 years you'll be set with great pay, avoid any relationships for the first 5 years for sure, you really won't need it and it's destructive and could keep you in debt for the rest of your life, that's hell
