And to be fair there is no other movie like this.
>>698408286
done it quite high on pot, good time. slightly panic inducing with a real feel good vibe behind it all. something about the way it's narrated, it's just got a "but don't let that get you down, everything will be just alright" feel.
>>698408217
It. Was never intended to by super serious win an Academy award kinda movie. It hit the nail on the head for exactly what it wanted to be. The lighting and camera work was superb.

>>698408477
Exactly. And on acid the camera pans, and artwork would be almost to much and I mean Beatles. I watched Sinister on shrooms, during a really bad thunderstorm, first time a horror movie actually terrified me.
Absolutely wonderful movie. Well written characters/story, amazing cgi and I really think it deserved some oscars.
Was that too obvious?
I liked suicide squad though.

Not OP, but I liked the organic feeling of the superhero. The guy is able to levitate, it doesn't mean his body is a rigid unit that stays completely horizontal when flying. So I liked Hancock being an actual dude with super powers.
What I want to understand is what is the huge weird creature running in the opposite direction of the fleeing crowd during the huge battle.

This is one of my favourite movies.
Best drama ever.
For some reason I ended up in situations where this movie was being shown. Stoned, too lazy to change the channel: WAB. At someone's house, no cable, one DVD: WAB. After seeing it like 5 or 6 times I actually started liking it.

>>698408911
I'm not going to say this movie is great, but I agree the CGI was good. When you make live action out of a cartoon with characters blasting light balls out of their hands... I think they got the effects right.

I think it's a wonderful picture of human relationships. Last line is so beautifully...honest.
Not your average Kubrick film but nonetheless a triumph despite its shortcomings.
I've watched it several times and I still enjoy it.
>>698405316
I think people's issues with that movie stemmed from the way it was advertised. One of those cut together to be a totally different movie ads then you get a completely different thing

I never watched the show until 2 years ago. I heard about people hating the movie, so I decided to go with the movie first, not getting disappointed, and then watch the whole show. Best. Decision. Ever.
I enjoyed the movie, was blown away by the special effects, then continued to the show and greatly enjoyed it. Korra sucked, except for season 3 which finally felt a bit like the original series.

Well, they've could've used different actors for different time periods then used the birthmark as an indicator and like flashbacks and shit so you'd know who it is. Fuck it. It was a good movie but it was kinda silly seeing the chink girl as a ginger 18th century English woman.
>>698409066
I liked it differently than the other alien movies.
>>698409491
After reading the books, I have to say it's pretty awful. As a stand-alone movie, it might've worked. It really didn't do justice to the Dune universe though.

sure it can have loads of good stuff but if you need someone else to come in and tell you about it just so its good, than the movie is bad. I'm all for nuances and subtly, but too much of it and it becomes trash

I loved the game they made after this movie. It was fucking hard though, or maybe I just sucked at it.
>>698410105
Nice movie, but Wonder Woman was terrible. She took a nuke to the face, shielded her upper body with a shield (while leaving legs exposed), slid a couple of feet back and went without a mark. Then she proceeded to have hand-to-hand combat with a fucking Superman-tier monster, and won. She was immune to any sort of damage, harm or even dirt, and that ruined every sort of immersion the movie could have offered.

Not a European per se, and I have nothing against nationalism and patriotism. I'm very patriotic, for my country. It's just that I don't see the point in making a hyper-patriotic film and releasing it to the world for it to enjoy all of the foreign patriotism.

The small light thing that was tossed around like a football by the lady who just performed auto-cesarean grew to be a big heavy thing with no apparent means to fuel that transition.
The critter also shared, as according to the initial premise of the film, genetic heritage to life on earth...rather reinforcing the notion that it, like all multi-cellular life as we know it, requires some form of sustenance in order to grow.
Shit, even if they threw a dead body or two in there I could get on board with the idea of super-fast alien growth, but where did the mass come from?!
