The point isn't the detail, the point is the pleasure of the exploration of form. The simpleness of the sensation of seeing that object and painting it. I intentionally choose objects without a lot of stuff the get hung up on. This bottle, for example, had a label on it, and as I was exploring this bottle the label also had to be explored. I try not to spend more than two hours on these since that is the limit of my joy. Any longer and it isn't fun anymore.

I am by no means without a direction, everything I do and produce I do with intention. Be it some sort of philosophical explanation of the nature of human existence and the meaning of art, or the impression of a person you caught a glimpse of and have all but forgotten, or just an exploration of a simple object for no reason other than the joy of doing it. It all serves a purpose in the end.
