Hey /b/, I've really been struggling trying to lose some weight, there's this girl I like and she's a fuckin 420/10, but I'm fat as fuck. I've tried eating less and just walking, but I keep going back to eating pure shit and just saying "I'll start tomorrow". Please /b/, I really need help. Is there anything I can do that I'll stick to.

Eat at a caloric defecit (meaning eat less calories than you need to maintain your bodyweight).

Eat high protein / high fat (good fats not saturated fats) / low carb diet.

Go to /fit/ faggot. That being said I joined medical weight loss about 2months ago and lost just under 50lbs so far. My diet is 950cals a day and consists mostly of protein shakes with one actual meal a day. It's expensive but worth it as you have someone checking your progress 3 times a week and keeps you motivated and on track; more importantly they hold you accountable. Get a gym member ship, ignore the treadmills and go for the elliptical, they work more parts of your body. you gonaa get tired out fast but tits better. The first time I got an eliptical I could barely last 30 seconds, after 3 weeks I go for atleast 7 minutes straight without stopping. its all about taking baby steps and not giving up

It's all about calories, what you put in versus what you burn. Sugary food, alcohol, and being sedentary are your enemies. My guess in you're probably consuming 6K calories a day minimum with no activity, right OP?

Alcohol can be a killer, especially beer. A 7% beer has about 350 calories on average. Have three or four, and bam, you're still fat.

Cut your calories in half immediately. Target 3K calories a day until you start seeing some weight loss. Get used to being hungry sometimes - it's okay to be hungry for an hour before a snack or your next meal. Notice I didn't say starving, don't not eat because it's absolutely the wrong thing to do.

Start walking. A little bit at first, and then stretch it and walk longer each time. It won't feel good at first and can be boring, but occupy your mind with something that will better yourself.

Do the above, eventually working your daily calorie intake to about 1500-1800 calories and day and you'll be losing weight every week until you want to stop or your body equalizes. You'll be surprised how much food you can eat for 1500 calories when you are picking the right foods.

It won't be easy, and it takes a while. Sugar cravings and carb cravings can be a bitch. Stay strong and stick it out.

6'0", started at 216lbs. I lost 23 lbs in 4 months doing it, and I'm still at it for about another 10-15lbs.

If you can avoid high impact activities all the better. Swimming, biking, etc.. All bullshit aside mate, it's really hard. You are chemically addicted to something, and you face a legitimate uphill battle. There ain't no quick fix, no one-and-done, no magic bullet. There's only you and willpower. I might, however, recommend changing the focus of the rush you get from eating - change it to the rush of working out. Don't set big targets or some shit, just work out hard until you get a nice adrenaline kick, and that MIGHT help you forestall the cravings.

Don't keep any garbage food around. Don't let yourself go out to get any. I used to be so lazy, and my diet was awful. I had to just get rid of and refuse to keep any shitty food at my place. Anything I have here is good for me. If you overeat, you need to just start eating less. It sucks feeling like you're not getting enough, but your stomach will shrink back down to a normal size, and then you'll be able to eat an appropriate amount and feel full. If you drink a lot of beer, cut that shit out. It was a huge problem for me. I stopped keeping it around and only drink liquor at home. Exercise. You should be a little sore somewhere at the end of every day. Just do whatever you can. If you can't run much, walk and run. Go a few miles everyday. It will get easier, then do more.

The most effective way to consistently lose weight is to make sure you're only eating enough to lose weight safely. This is done by counting calories. There is a popular website that is really good for this. Its called myfitnesspal.

My calorie counting for a whole day gets done in a few minutes a day on this site. All I do is log in the food I ate and it tells me what I have left to eat in calories.

The other important thing is this. You need to find meals that you can make that.
A- Taste good
B- Are pretty easy for you to make
C- Are healthy and filling for you

If you can find meals like this to make everyday weightloss is VERY easy. Because all you're doing is making easy meals that taste good that fill you up everyday. You walk away from the meals satisfied instead of hungry and you don't ever get so hungry that it bothers you.

Wait until you've been on your diet a few days before you start eating as healthy as possible. The extra appetite boost from a few days in on the diet will make it easier for you to consume healthier food. Its ok to eat bad the first few days of the diet while your appetite gets stronger.

Don't eat less food, eat less calorically dense food. Veggies, fruits, and whole grains will fill you up with far fewer calories than chips and soda. It will be not be as satisfying at first, but once you are full it will be hard to stuff yourself with junk.

Exercise. Start slow. Constantly increase weight lifted/distance run/whatever. You won't undo 20 years of damage in a month. But you will see results if you are consistent.

Progress slowly, take it one day at a time. Don't take a fuck up as a total failure. Fucking up a few times a week but getting right back on the wagon is going to be a hell of a lot better than hitting it hard for a month, failing, and giving up.

Watch your thoughts. Don't smack talk yourself with a bunch of defeatist bullshit. Celebrate victories, small or large. Meditation is particularly good at making you more conscious of all the thoughts running in the back of your mind (that influence your behavior whether you are aware of them or not).

OP, listen to me. I was almost your exact height and weight this time last year. I'm 5'8" and was 177 at my heaviest.

First, like everyone else has already said, you need to drop sodas, juices, sports drinks if you haven't already. Seriously - step fucking 1. After that just cut out all sugars, you don't really need them. Cut down as many carbs as possible, if you want quick results, you need to start as low as you can.

Start counting calories and counting carbs, that's going to be your best bet. Also start paying attention to what nutrition labels say...you should know what's going into your body and a lot of the things you might have considered "healthy" are actually far from it.

Simply put, eat at a calorie deficit and keep your carbs and sugars as low as you possibly stand. If I can do it, you can do it. Also avoid alcohol.

I went down from 97 to 75 in half a year.

Here is how I did it.

You need a strong will. Stop eating everything unhelthy. NO sweets, no bread, nothing with flour.

It will be hard. You will feel like a drug addict.
Now this is how you should eat. Eat normally (breakfast, lunch, dinner etc) without sweets and things containing flour.

BUT

Only eat once. Don't put anything new on your plate. You are still hungry? Eat an apple, or a carrot, or make yourself a tea. Eat as many carrots (I did that) as you still feel hungry)

Now the other part. You can't lose weight without exercises.

I started with 30 minutes of cardio every single day. (just look up on youtube or somewhere, I used MOSSA trainings on my Xbox). If you are the same fat fuck like I were it will be fucking hard. You will be sweating. You will be dying. When you can't do it anymore just pause it and return as soon as you catch your breath.

And the most IMPORTANT THING, is to FUCKING return every day. Even if you don't want it, you NEED to RETURN.

you will feel tired, you will feel sore, BUT DO IT.
