What you seem to have missed is the part where it takes time. Instant gratification has no stable form in the realm of progress, for too sudden of change will always see backlash from those set in their ways.
Think of how far proper racism has gone since the 1930s when blacks were still treated as separate citizens compared to today where there is no societal dispute as to their civil status.
Even with the holdouts through the generations the change will come. I have parents with racial biases, and grandparents with more biases then them, yet I don't agree with many of those biases which I feel has no valid claim these days.

It's a very real phenomenon with very negative consequences for minorities - but it's not oppression in the sense people are used to hearing about. Now that I've explained that, I'd be happy to give you some specific examples.
I think the most obvious would be the U.S. prison system. The rate of black males in detention is outrageous, largely because of laws and police officers which target them. Now, I'm not finger pointing - there is no one actively oppressing anyone. That's why I hate the term oppression. It's the system of many people's combined behaviors which leads to systematic oppression.

Violent crime includes but is not limited to: home invasion, robbery, assault, murder, rape, mugging, and the aggravated forms of those listed above.

You can't look at the issue of incarceration without also looking at one of its largest root causes, socioeconomic entrapment - another result of systematic oppression.
