The gun i think is fairly self explanatory. Its not for everyone, but i'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
The superglue its so light in a backpack, it isnt noticeable. helps in a pinch to fix something, glue a wound shut, etc. There's a good few uses.
As for all the other shit, its mostly about being prepared. At one point or another, i have used basically everything I carry, and more often than not it is a huge convenience. With that said, i am not tied to my backpack. If i'm going to the corner store, i just leave it at home. Backpack really only goes to work with me, or if i plan on being out for a while.

To expand on what I said-
Most people that carry a knife for self defense have no real training, and typically don't consider that there's a chance that the attacker will take the knife and use it against you. Some say "don't carry a knife for self defense unless you're ready to be cut with your own knife." I think that's a good way to think.
For reference, I've been studying martial arts for just over 20 years. Most of that time I have been training with knives. I would be very comfortable using a knife in an altercation, but I would avoid using it unless I felt like I had to because anything can happen.

i know you're new here, so let me s'plain for you.. when you are handloading your own cartridges, you work different loads up with various amounts of powder, and see what charge shoots the best in your particular rifle / barrel. my rifle was zero'd for a hunting load, and the handloaded match round i made, shot higher / had a different POI, than the hunting round the rifle was zero'd for.. once you establish the POI for a particular load, and re-zero your scope / rifle for it, then you will be able to make dead center hits all day long. when you are doing load development, you don't continually re-zero the rifle for each load you test. understand, newbie?
