Quality comes with time, dedication, and patience. Honestly you need to first decide if you enjoy it or not. The improving comes on it's own, so long as you actually set time aside to practice and motivate yourself. There's many resources out there, but everyone functions differently, so experiment and give everything at least a read. Who knows it could really help. Finally take any and all criticisim with a grain of salt. Wheither they are being purposely rude or polite, there is value usually in what's said, but try to be reasonable.

It's really good. Also another thing is that if you're not okay with your OC dying, having sex, or being raped, do not bring them here. Getting upset over people asking will not help. People will draw it anyways. Just realize they can't force you to draw it, and do what you're comfortable with. Eventually you may get to a point you will want to try. And hopefully you will, and it'll be a good learning experience. It's a give and take, and you gotta figure out what pace is right for you.

You feel an urge to because it's relatable to an extent. People don't like rejection, or to find something out about themselves that scares them. Sexuality is a major conflict as children come of age, and we all fight that battle at some point. But you have to find those answers yourself. With Hunger Game threads that have custom events and season names I decided I'd try and make one specifically for /b/ drawthreads. Pic related, it's placeholder characters for testing purposes. But with fatal events and non-fatal events that involve multiple players and similar variables I don't know where to start. Does anyone have ideas for custom events?

Sure, it can be a good way to get going. I used to redraw manga covers when I started out. Personally I don't mind "stealing" because with time I believe it will evolve to become you own style.
If you don't intend to share the work, ofc you are free to rip off just as much as you please, which can be good practice, but if you wanna make your work public at some point, pic related offers some good guide lines imo.
