I was pulled over once with it and by law the first thing I had to tell him was that I was carrying a concealed firearm, he asked me to hand it to him and I did. When everything was over I was given a warning for going 58 in a 55 and he returned my firearm to me.

Actually, yes they do...if you are staying inside the vehicle they ask to hold on to it until business is complete. Standard procedure since you could easily pull it and start shooting when they walk back to their vehicle to run you for warrants and make sure your car isn't stolen. They also check to make sure your concealed carry is up to date.

Sucks for you CC fags that have a duty to inform police that you are armed. In PA we have no requirement to inform and I never do. I have been pulled over 3 times in my truck and once on my motorcycle and never once did I mention the fact that I had a gun and license to carry. The cop doesn't need to know and once you tell them you have surrendered your 4th amendment rights. The officer will then "take the weapon for their safety" even though you have as much of a right to have the gun as they do. Keep your mouth shut unless required to tell an officer.

I got pulled over about a year ago, live in Texas and have a CCL. I don't actually carry all that often but have my beretta compact in a holster that I rigged to attach under my passenger seat.
As soon as I pull over I place my DL, CCL, and insurance on the dash in front on my steering wheel. When the cop approached I had my window all the way down and my hands visible on the wheel. He asks for license and registration and I hand all 3 documents to him, he sees the CCL and immediately asks if I have a weapon on me. I tell that it is not on my person and located under the passenger seat. He then asks me to step out if the car and directs me to the back. He says he wants to pat me down to ensure I don't have a weapon on my person before we proceed. I am like OK whatever and let him search me real quick. Then he asks me to sit on the sidewalk about 15 feet from my car while he runs my info.
I sit there for about 5 minutes and then he motions me back over the behind my car, gives me a speeding ticket (I was 18 mph over my dumbass fault) and then says thank you for your cooperation, what kind of gun do you have? I tell him and then we chat about guns and a deer lease he has nearby and go on our way like men.
Oh and guess what, yes I am white but because people that look like me more often than not adhere to the rules in these situations, I was not treated as a threat.
Functioning within the confines of the law is not that fucking hard, never in my wildest fucking dream would I have rested my pistol on my lap as a cop walked up to my window, that is litterally asking to get shot regardless of color.

My situation went exactly as it should have. No rights violated. It was a good encounter. The cop who stopped me probably faces threats all day, respect that. It is in my best interest to prove to the cop I'm not a threat to him or others as quickly as possible. Getting held up for 20 mins and your weapon checked is a far better outcome for everyone versus trying to fight the police and end up arrested or shot.

With a modern handghn, and a properly fitting concealed carry holster, the gun will litterally never fire. Finger discipline is the very first thing taught in any firearm training program that is worth its salt.
Also, if any of you had every actually participated in a firearm/active shooter training course, you will know that having to rack your weapon after drawing can be the difference between life and death. Having to rack your gun with a sudden rush of adrenaline and risking a jam is stupid.

Accidental trigger pulls (when drawing or holding the weapon) are the main contributor accidental discharge. The Glocks trigger "safety" doesn't prevent this.
