The thing i hate most about this is that while there are always rude people (especially if you're putting yourself out there online), the vast majority of people can really respect people that do things to make themselves healthier and better their lives. We all have failings, but we don't "celebrate" and take pride in all of our failings the way fat acceptance people do.
No one likes someone who is clearly lazy and rather than overcome their obstacles, reclines in their wide body recliner and blogs about how much they love their fat body. It's great to be confident, not so great to exalt in being an unhealthy lump of worthlessness, demanding that the world cater to you rather than making changes to your own shelterered (and privileged, ironically) life.
One of the best feelings in the world is seeing a fat person at the gym working hard -- and you know they were intimidated at first or wondering if people would make fun of them (they don't, no one cares), and then seeing them again months later and seeing the changes they've made.
