Single coil pickups/humbuckers sound very different, tele/strat pickups sound very different.
I've got higher output humbuckers, low output humbuckers, bright single coils, midrangey single coils
There's an incredible amount of variation in customised strats, both in feel and sound. the guitars inspire me in different ways. The blue 87 Strat front left is the best one though, it's just a sublime guitar and the one I'd grab if the house caught fire.

I love metallic finishes on Strats. Sunbursts or natural finishes on Teles. Never been into sunburst Strats though.
So I've got a burgundy mist, an aztec gold, an aquamarine metallic and a gun metal blue metallic.
I think my logic is that Teles are more "traditional" whereas Strats look like something from outer space. Or they did in 1954.

Yeah, I'm not sure what year this Nitro 2 was made but I know it was between 86-89. This is by far the best sounding guitar I've played on as well, it's all original too the only thing is that the original tromelo arm is gone so I'm using a replacement. Original hardshell case too tho.
