There is no fixing a 1.12... Hell does that even count as credit towards your degree (most colleges won't accept anything lower than a C for a class that isn't a free elective).
I would clue you in a bit, change majors to Computer Science/Software Engineering. There are only going to need to be so many ECE majors anymore (the industry is in heavy compression with Intel/AMD/IBM/CISCO all offshoring and downsizing). Unless you are the brightest of the bright, you won't make shit with a ECE degree. However, a software design/architech will have work until AI takes over (and even then will still have work fixing the AI).

Someone didn't do their research and go to a college that had a co-op program which gets you actual work experience and actual network connections with businesses. I walked out with a full time job at the end of my 2nd year of college and started that job end of junior year (with finishing up my degree as a part time student).
That is what real networking and connections are, and the piece of paper isn't meaningless to anyone but people like you who didn't know any better and still doesn't.
Oh, and the point of the philosophy courses you are ranting about is to broaden your mind. Teach you how to be able to think for yourself, see things from multiple viewpoints, and discover that there has been thousands of years of people thinking about thinking itself. And to learn just a little of something that doesn't have a "box" to keep you contained within such that you might actually expand your way of thinking to realize that there is a whole lot more than what you learned growing up in your small little neighborhood.
