I knew of a girl who knew and played video games more than me and my friend, and she was my friend's friend. She has a boyfriend and whenever he comes around, she drops everything and revolves around him. I don't know how she looks, but she seems ideally good.

Here's my deal on the whole thing.
Girls can play video games, apparently. But they haven't always. While growing up I didn't know ONE girl who had even a passing interesting in video games. They'd only play at parties and, surprise, they sucked. Even today, the majority of people who are actually INTERESTED in video games (listen to podcasts, follow news, etc) are male. And my guess would be that the hardcore audience is even more skewed. So no, I'm not being sexist when I act surprised if a girl plays video games, because it is fucking rare. And it's not sexist to think that girl gamers are "casual".
But I have no problem with girls who game. I do, however, have a problem with "gamer girls". You never hear of a "gamer guy", you just hear "gamer". Why? Because gender is irrelevant. "Gamer girls" are deliberately calling attention to themselves just for being female, which is what is stupid about it. You want to game? Then game. Stop attention whoring.
And I severely doubt that the online experience is as bad as they say for two reasons: first off, I've found that for every guy who is an asshole to girls online, there are 2-3 guys who suck up to them just because they're female. Secondly, every person online gets shit talked. It's whatever the other person can find on you; girls are ridiculed for being female, guys are ridiculed for being gay. Do I feel persecuted as a straight male for being called gay? Fuck no, because it's trash talk and you ignore it. "Gamer girls" wanting to get rid of the trash talk is them wanting to do what is impossible: fix assholes, rather than just ignore them, which every guy has done for ages.
Girls want to play games? Cool, go ahead. There are probably a lot more than we realize because they _don't_ draw attention to themselves. But as for the "girl gamers", there's no reason for us to put up with them acting special and delicate. Martial-arts based Fantasy MMO with a pretty fucking legit and balanced Skilled based PVP gameplay. Has a hardcore Korean base in the top levels of elo and scrub-like muricans low elo. Basically, you have the best of both worlds that caters to all needs.
Hitting max level takes about 3 weeks if you put in about 4-5 hours a day.
Then you get to unlock Extra levels that require more grinding and work.
Basically, fairly easy to hit "max level" and then it goes "asian farming market" for those who really want to go hardcore into pvp and raiding.
Also very playable as "free to play". Not much pay to win (most stuff you pay for is extra inventory which is manageable and cosmetic stuff like extra outfits and such).
Might not be THE best game out there, but its a fun free to play time waster with pretty good and interesting graphics (strong korean influence).

Yeah, well, its about 1 week of solid grinding a level for the "expert levels" or whatever that you have to grind out after the level cap.
Like I said, starts easy, then the grinding starts for the 15 "extra" levels. And they kinda make all the difference if you gonna go hardcore raiding or if you gonna try to climb the pvp ladder higher than gold.
But hey, its one of the few mmo games I've played that, for once, are skill oriented and where a complete turd will now win against a skilled player just because they grinded more. Cant really explain it, just gotta say, as far as MMOs go (and they are a genre I have become completely disillusionned with) it had a pretty good balance of skills, grinding, story, imagery and voice acting.
I was a LOT less dissapoint by it than most other MMOs I have recently played. Is it perfect? no. But I did enjoy it more in 2 months than WoW in two years. Not that that really is a reference, but hey, just a suggestion. Up to you /b/ro. ;)

I tried out Battlefield with the boyfriend whilst he was away at a course a couple towns over so we could sort of hang out.
The second I spoke I get all these dipwads breathing heavily into their mics and demanding nudes. I just mute them and continue the game.
Other games like GTAV I made some really chill friends.
I did get a bit bullied on Rust for being the only chick on the server, but I found it good motivation to really try my best to make the most unraidable base I could and went all stalker mode wherever I went to avoid any conflict and just survive.
