I have two pit mixes, both of them are fine around people, one of them however is agressive towards other dogs. Infact about 20 minutes ago I let her outside to go to the bathroom and she ran into the neighbors yard and tried to attack their dog. I don't know how to train this behavior out of her. I think the problem with the pit bull is that it has a lot of energy, it's very strong, and it's very big. An untrained pit bull is either very aggressive or aggressively playful. The problem is that the dog has the ability to inflict damage, not that they always do.
I have a Jack Russell and he is a little cunt when we go to the vet. The last 3 times we went, the vet fingered his asshole. The third time, he wasn't having it, he tried to bite me when I tried to get him out of the car. 2 years ago I had to reform a dog for a client or the dog was getting put down.
It was a small field Labrador, it attacked a child in a park and bit the kids leg and drew blood. I got called, had to reform the dog or it was getting put down within a two week, trained the dog and from the last I heard from the owner the dog has never attacked another person or anything else for that matter.

I'm sure I could do a research project showing that with certain variables removed (I.e- training, environment, etc), certain breeds cause more issues than others. There probably already is a ton of research done.
Also, I don't judge any dog based on their breed at all, I can usually tell if a dog will be an asshole based on how the owner acts, but it would be illogical to assume all breeds of dog are exactly equal in every way, with nurture being everything and nature being nothing

I dunno man, I had a tibetian that lived to 14. He would challenge me a lot as a puppy, as the breed is known to do. On advice of my trainer i would hold him down until he submit, but all it did was really piss him off. He'd get all salty, and really pssy about it and sult off. He developed a real attitude problem from it. He never really bit me before I did that, but after he would. I mean he REALLY didn't like it. He got all growly, and would get vicious with food, and he was never like that before.

I don't have time to read every post in this stupid thread, so to any who see this, here are the facts.
Any dog that comes from a line of fighting dogs will always be agressive against dogs and humans, even if you've had it since it was a puppy. It's just their instinct, the owner can't control what a dog inherits from it's parents and in the pitbulls case they will inherit a ridiculous pain tolerance and the the instict to FUCK SHIT UP if for some reason it just feels like it should.
The same thing goes for German Shepards and Rotties.
That all being said, there are probably dog attacks from these breeds that are the current owners fault. German Shepards have so much fucking energy that if they don't burn it all, yea maybe they'll jump a 6 foot fence and eat someones small dog. Same goes for pitbulls, or any agressive dog really. I've hunted tigers and mountain lions with my grandfather.
We would often run into wolfs that would attack us on sight, we carried pistols for that.
I started when I was 8 years old, I nearly died my first time. We were following some mountain lion tracks and out of nowhere, a pack of 5 wolves attacked us. I dodged a flying tackle from a wolf and then another one tackled me into the ground. It went for my throat as I grabbed it's trachea and held it back while digging my fingers and nails into it's trachea, and then hammer fisted it in the eye. The hammer fist stunned it enough so I could push it off and then knee it in the nose, it layed there in pain. I drew my pistol as my grandfather had both of his arms in the mouths of two wolves, but he had his Kevlar sleeves on. He had already killed one, and the other one wasn't in sight. He kicks one of the wolves in the stomach and I heard a good and loud crack as it wined. I shot it, and he had gotten the other one to let go by elbowing it's snout, he then elbowed it in the spine, it was fucking brutal, it just stopped moving.
It's dangerous shit, and I've done it for more than 10 years on and off.
I know danger, and I'm experienced with dealing with it.
I spent 3 years in the backwaters of Thailand. It was lawless shit out there. When I was 12, I was given 3 pittbull puppies to raise and train. They would play rough with me, and I was taught to play rough back. They'd bite me just hard enough to leave bruising and some cuts, I'd use footwork to doge and create angles and kick them while they were coming in, this was part of my training, but they were also like my brothers and sisters.

The guy tensed up, and that's when they both ran towards him and attacked.
He yelled for help, I sprinted there, I kicked the male away from him, he just ran up and didn't bite or tackle. The female had his arm. I kicked her in the ribs, grabbed her trachea, and started prying her mouth open by the top jaw, which made her release, in which I pinned her down and made her submit to me. The guy was upset and was yelling at me, he had a Russian like accent. We talked about it, and he let it go, he had a good jacket. I found out he was a soldier in the Bosnian war, and he was attacked by war dogs before.
I eventually established myself as the dogs' leader, and I trained them, and trained with them.
