Eventually someone tried reviving the fandom by finding all the rare bits of art that depicted smarties as demanding and cruel and spammed them on /b/. He picked up a number of new members who continued to develop along the assumption that fluffies were simply horrible creatures in general. They enjoy a sort of perverse justice that could be dealt out to fluffies who "deserve" it, rather than exploring a world of bizarrely evil humans.
It's weird, but basically there are almost two fluffy abuse fandoms operating concurrently.
