Fair enough. But if you're into music, and you want to be in a metal band, I'd recommend picking up an instrument. Metal is a very self-sufficient genre.
Or just get together with a bunch of furfags and do the spitroasting part. Either way, pursuing a fantasy like this is possible, is all I'm saying. And even if you don't make it all the way, you'll likely have experiences that are worthwhile on their own.

But seriously, play what you want to play. If you have the money, just treat yourself. Take a few lessons. I mean, I took drawing lessons years ago, pursuing that dream. I didn't become an artist, but I'm still glad for the experience. One story I often tell: We were doing model practice, and the model was an elderly man, and this was nude modelling. Afterwards, he goes around the different results, and I'm the only dude there. He points out I'm also the only one who actually drew his dick. I've always thought that was funny.
I'm also reminded of a friend of mine. He's a stereotypical nerd. A fat programmer. But we'd been drinking somewhere, and there's a piano in the room. And he sits down behind that piano, and starts playing like it's nothing. I never knew he could do that.
Point is, you stand nothing to lose from trying your hand at something you want to do.

There's always the first step. I wouldn't have my friends if I hadn't joined a frat in my first year, as a shy nerd who didn't like beer. You don't really need friends to do shit you want to do, it just makes it easier, makes it feel more comfortable. But I've had some valuable experiences doing stuff on my own.
And, well, if you do shit alone you're a lot more likely to meet people you can hang out with. Especially if you just want to take music lessons. Go take lessons, chat with the other people doing that stuff, discover who you see eye to eye with, figure out if you want to see more of them.
I'm not a perfect friend-maker, either. Social interaction tires me out. But I always thought about myself as a friendless person, until I realized this MADE me a friendless person. Because friendships do take effort, and I spent a lot of time with bad friends who gave nothing back for that.
I suppose having no friends is more a confidence issue than anything else. After all, if you're confident and you want no friends, you have no friends and feel fine. If you are confident, and want friends, you go make friends.
