If you add up the total energy of the entire universe you will get the answer of exactly 0. So yes everything we can see literally came from nothing and it is scientific fact, if you wish to dismiss this then you best have some form of evidence to support your claim.

The Big Bang is not a belief, and has nothing to do with religion or lack thereof. It's a scientific theory with mountains of hard evidence to support it, and none that disproves it. Which means it is accepted as fact, whether you "believe" it or not.
>>
>>686771608
except for science a theory in science is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation. So you dont need belief it is fact.

>>
>>686771822
Obviously the big bang happened im in no way saying it didnt. Im just saying that the big bang required no energy to happen and therefore the whole universe came from nothing.
>>
>>686771692
That's feminist logic.

Same line of reasoning as saying "He raped me last saturday" and if you want to dismiss that you best have some form of evidence to support your claim.

Same when it comes to religion, "Jesus/Shiva cured my gait" and if you want to dismiss that you best have some form of evidence to support your claim.

Disclaimer: i believe the big bang theory is the closest we have to understand what really happened at the start of this universe, and most scientists have different ideas to what happened within that theory.
I should also remind you that in a 100 years we will probably have another theory.
>>
>>686772266
wrong. you obviously don't know what you are talking about.
>>
I have also asked this of scientists - where does the matter come from in multiple universe theory?

I think the have painted themselves into a corner. By trying to explain where matter came from, they have left themselves open by trying to square other contradictory theories.

By that logic the "fact" that flying contraptions was scientifically impossible in the 1700's.
(Because people are good at misrepresenting/misconstruing things i'll add that the scientific community, atleast in the west, at that time concluded in their theories that it was impossible)
>>
>>686772392
I am an atheist , so I am not siding with religious fanatics.
What i mean to say is not many science theories are a fact, its an abstract theory which may/maynot be a fact until proven.
Example: Theory of Gravity was changed to Law of Gravity.
Theory of evolution is an abstract theory, we do not have a solid proof.
>>
>>686772415
Same argument can be used for a creator god.
>>
Ok lets say particles come to lige randomly but hod doesnt play with a dice but better with chess (or go). So lets say a random thing become so great it makes matter appear. Eat it.

> Flying contraptions impossible
> Birds

This was in no way a scientific theory its speculation. It clearly wasnt observed properly in nature, it clearly was not experimented.
A scientific theory for example is newtons laws - they will never be disproved there is so much evidence. And things like evolution, Einsteins theory of general and special relativity.

You clearly cant appreciate the difference between scientific theory and pure speculation
>>
>>686773055

>>
>>686773055
Not that anon, but there is one clear proof.
Look up the origins of goldfish.
Well done, you now understand that genetics are real, and if they are real, it is highly likely that all animals and plants have evolved to some extent, even if they were originally placed here by god.
>>686773205
You are just an idiot, and by your definition there exist very very few facts in this world, especially as everything is tainted by our human perspective.
>>
>>686772723
You don't understand the difference between a law and a theory in science.

Theory does not mean something is not proven, the word that means that is hypothesis.

Laws are scientific constructs that explain how something works, but not why.

Theories are scientific constructs that explain why something works.

There is a law of gravity and there is a theory of gravity. The theory of gravity was not changed to law of gravity, they both exist and are a different thing.

This does in fact happen with religion, what if the renaissance didn't happen?
We(the christian west) cast away most of the really shitty parts of christianity but kept some of the virtues and sins.
Islam did not have this renaissance and kept a lot of the shitty parts.
There are thousands of different interpretations of the bible.
Where science has testing and evidence, christianity has changed through demographics and profit(and a few crackpots/sociopaths on the way).

Disclaimer: i think religion is mostly shit, but it was a neat way to mass-broadcast things that can be important, like in the classical antiquity/post-classical history that they saw people were dying of infections under the foreskin caused by bad hygiene, and proclaimed that they had to cut it off.
These days religion is naught but a cash-cow and slight relief for those that need something to lean on.
>>
>>686773205
Yes it does! In science a theory is the highest level of proof that it is physically possible to prove.

Yea well changes in religion are not for the same reasons as changes in science and does not follow the same unbiased and tested process. And when it comes to scientific findings they (religious people) often twist them to fit their picture of the world/universe. Instead of changing the picture like the scientific community does

>>
>>686774414
You're saying 'Flying contraptions cant ever exist' was a scientific theory when it clearly never was! It was just an assumption based on pure speculation. You could easily disprove this stupid hypothesis by looking at a bird in flight, quite clearly its logical to suggest if a bird can fly a machine can mimic it. Birds don't fly by magic they fly through mechanical action of muscle and bone.

This is not a scientific theory that went on to be disproved like you are suggesting because it never was a theory in the first place.
>>
>>686774854

>>
>>686774767
Yes, i agree.
Unfortunately we also have a lot of scientists that twist findings to fit their world picture/funding/sponsors.
Look to the tobacco companies studies about cigarettes effect on health.
And petrol companies studies and theories on their effect on the environment.

>>

>>
>>686775539
Yea, but both groups of scientist you point out work for an industry, so they are trying to protect their interests. Real research (like university research) gets published so others can test their ideas/findings to further validate them or help find the flaws in their systems
>>
>>686776056
I wouldn't put all universities in that group, but i agree.
I like to see buddhism (not the batshit crazy burma-buddhists) as the university version in that analogy, and most if not all of the other religions in the other category together with the industrial scientists.

Then it would be impossible for someone to travel through the earth at near-lightspeed?
Neutrinos can, why cant we?

I'll add my source to the theory about flight being impossible, espoused and theorised by Sir Newton.
http://www.csc.kth.se/~cgjoh/AIAAFlight-3.pdf

If you aren't too miffed about looking through it just ctrl+f and type in impossible and you'll have an explanation that's a little more thorough.
>>
>>686777399
I didn't say it was impossible I said I dont know enough to tell you the answer. In my opinion it isn't possible but that's just an opinion that isnt in anyway a theory. And just like birds flying mens machines can fly I agree if a neutrino can its at least plausible other things can.
Newton may have had an opinion that machines couldn't fly just like i have an opinion but it was never a scientific theory he didn't prove it was impossible through experimentation or mathematics. It wasnt a theory it was just a hypothesis. His actual theories were spot on tho and will never be disproved they are fact because there is so much evidence for them now.

>>
>>686779242
And what i'm saying is they weren't proper scientific theories look at the definition of a scientific theory they fail to meet it. In order for it to be a theory you have to have shit load of evidence to support it.
Yes theories can change in there detail but not in there broader statement. Example - evolution the theory stays the same 'organisms change over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits' however we are constantly learning the ways in which this happens such as through DNA and things. This new knowledge only strengthens the theory and adds even move evidence to support its original claim.

Lol you are the pleb mate. How did something emerge from nothing. with out a creator an outside force. Then you say well who created God then. well. he always was and always will be. wtf right? well look to science to answer this. the forth dimension where time doesn't exist so a creator that always was and always will be can exist and it births this dimension from it. duh!

Here. Now you clearly haven't studied physics so I'll break it down for you: An electron is moving in space and time. In another point in space and time from nothing emerges a positron-electron couple, which annihilates the original electron and leaves us an electron which seems to be the original one, but isn't. Such is Feynmans successful theory.

What part of understanding is required in order to expect and event to happen again?
The ancient greeks likely had no real idea why the sun rose every morning, but I doubt that meant that they were constantly in denial about it's likelyhood to come up the following day.

I am simply saying that wether we fully understand it or not, it happens. The fact it happens on such a small scale could be indicative proof of our universe's creation. As with one instance on a tiny level, it would then expand outwards in ways explained by

There never was nothing, that's the stupidest thing I've heard. The Big Bang isn't about something being created out of nothing or nowhere, it's about a small dense point that increased in size radically, basically it imploded. There always was something, as it was increasing in size different laws of physics started to unfold like gravity. Though we don't know what exactly initiated it or what was the first thing created, we can explain certain events after it with our knowledge now and our knowledge about it is still growing. Don't be an ignorant fuck and throw away ideas or possibilities just because they don't please your mindset or ideals. That's the point of theories, as long as they can explained with logical exemplifications there is nothing wrong with. They are meant to be either refuted or verified.
>>
>>686790185
>an infinite causal chain is impossible
this is a dogma that says infinite is impossible. which is mathematically proven not. almost everything we use irl is calculated and made using the idea of infinity.

Why is an infinite causal chain impossible?

Just because Aristotle said it doesn't make that true. Aristotle was a smart guy, but he was speculating--he had no experimental technique and no higher mathematics.

And btw, a lot of religions believe in a circular timeline.

>do you not read the bible?
Even god made something from nothing.
" formless and empty, darkness was over the surface"
>>
>>686790469
No it actually makes more sense then something poped out of nothing. "hey, look at this hat nothing in it right?" then poof a rabbit. That's what these modern "scientists" actaully believe it's a joke. Anyone who believes it is nothing but sheep. can't think for themselves. I'm not saying for sure it was God but it makes more sense.
>>
>>686792151
Your point of reasoning is "my shit is better than others", so u shouldn't blame scientists if you can't understand what they try to do. Aren't you a lamb of god btw? who poped god? other gods?

I'm not surprised from someone who says "god did it" and it's happy about it.

wow, haven't seen this one before
>>
>>686767991
I get that it's b8 but a big invisible floaty man in the sky poofed everything into existence then dicked around until we were able to make reliable records the disappeared

assume there is a magician
2 groups investigates how he does his tricks
first group says well its magic obviously
other group says "we have figured out these solutions for the first two of his tricks, and it's not actually magic"
then first group says "well have you figured out the THIRD trick?"
other group says "no, but we have some theories"
then first group says "ha! we have beaten you. you see, it's real magic."

so you says first group makes more sense?

>who poped god

He always was and always will be he lives in a higher dimension where time doesn't exist. The fifth I think, you'd have to do some research into quantum physics if you want the truth. But i don't think you can handle the truth.... good luck
!
>>
>>686771735
That's... not how the elements were made....
>>
>>686793275
This makes no sense. Just like the theory of the big bang. something from nothing "science" common get a brain.
>>
>>686793325
>Knows nothing about quantum physics
>Knows nothing about string theory
>Claims god lives in 5th dimension out of his ass
>Doesn't know there are 10 dimensions
>Claims god created everything
>But god lives in a lesser dimension than he created

Kys

the answer of god in science?? how can you accept that? because your shit is better
>>
>Big Bang

Sounds like a name for a porn movie.
