Granted, I'm lucky. I had access to good, affordable, effective treatment that many others do not. Shit, in places like NH and VT, I don't think they even have methadone clinics.
But of the heroin addicts I've known, and I've obviously known quite a few, most of them were able to pull it back together. It took some longer than others, but eventually they do it.
It's difficult at first, but once the physical dependency has been eliminated, it's more about keeping busy and not hanging around actively using drug addicts than anything else. I don't go to meetings or anything and I rarely ever feel an actual craving.

Funny story, I actually invested quite a bit of my own money into a pharmaceutical company developing (and preparing to market) a suboxone (buprenorphine) implant. I don't know that it will be successful or make me any money, but I believe in the product and believe in the objective.

People ask me why I take so much acid. I say it's for my spirituality but I'm just medicating myself and taking a step away from the world for a while. I usually take 5-15 tabs once every 2 days depending on if I work or not - I know about functional addiction and can absolutely relate to where you come from man. The psychedelics covers up the hole in my heart that was opened a long time ago. Do I enjoy it? Maybe when I do it socially, but most often it is just a crutch for my mind to lean on for a while.
I dislike opiate addicts not because of their disease, but the way they channel it.
I always think to myself how close I was to being in the same situation so many other people are right now. But if I was able to acquire amounts where I can med myself out like that 3-4 times a week for the last few years with no bodily harm, what is stopping people from doing the same? I have the same relief as someone numbed from time of downer use, without any of the mental or bodily decay they experience all too often.

Molly is fantastic. Have water. Try not to grind your teeth too much. As for making sure you're getting pure MDMA you've sort of got to roll the dice. If you can find molly in powder or little crystals you're golden. Most pressed pills will contain MDMA but they're cut with something. Could be cheap amphetamine past, caffeine, who knows.
