2015 Scion FR-S. Although, the guy I bought it from at the dealership told me they might be getting new Supras in 2017, but most likely 2018. Nothing official yet, but likely a baseline engine V6 with around 330 HP, and possibly a higher end model with around 460HP using a V6 hybrid. About the same size as a Porsche 911, no idea on terms of weight. I'd hyped to see it, will likely buy it.

I hope both of these are manual. The E9x 335i is an excellent car but the GM or whatever 6 speed auto BMW was using at the time really brings the whole car down.
The new ZF 8 speed auto is actually excellent and completely changed my opinion on torque converter autos.
The SMG is just tragic. DCT is fucking sweet though.

I can get to an indicated 60 in under 4.5 seconds with the huge 245s I have on the rear. Top end on the car is not known. I've been in the upper 160s indicated in 5th and it was still pulling pretty well. Handling in the car is remarkable as well. Plus that V8-like metallic-sounding intake roar puts people on their knees and even myself still after hearing it for 5 years now. Aesthetically I think it's the most beautiful BMW outside of the DTM series.
I just don't see the reason to upgrade to anything to be honest. Newer Bimmers to me again, are lifeless. Plus mine is appreciating. Like 6% up since March.

Yeah... that sounds like dealer pricing. The throttle bodies on the M73's are actually extremely reliable, and generally either get messed up by someone's first timer attempts with diagnostic software and resetting their adaptations (easily enough fixed). But a throttle body causing poor idling and shitty running? Nah, not on one of these - I'd be looking elsewhere, almost always it's shot PCV valves on the V12's - they're incredibly failure prone. Not cheap, but fuckloads cheaper than $2500 a piece!!
That being said, no one who owns these cars and is enthusiastic about them buys brand new parts via dealers for those very reasons... Besides, that's why I would only ever own a '95 build - solid M60 motor, cable driven throttle, sprocket driven timing chain, no silly stacks of options to go wrong. Just retrofit a couple of things you like and trouble free motoring!

I dealt with idle issues too in the M3 with only fuel-air adaptation codes that I've never been able to diagnose. Using a generic reader it kept showing issues with the fuel system. I replaced the fuel pump and did a pressure test and the issues were still there.
Using the Peake tool it finally pointed to the front throttle positioning sensor which I changed out for $100 and in under literally 3 minutes.
It's been probably 6 to 8k miles since and my SES light has finally stayed off.

Of the newer cars I drive at work, the M235i has been one of my favorites. Even with the 8 speed auto. Can't wait to try an M2. The car is just the right size, it hits the hot compact car thing in a way the E9x and F30/80 don't.
The F80 M3 is pretty good, but pales in comparison to the F10 M5, which is by far the most impressive car I've ever driven.
E9x M3 is fun in its own way. Drove one with an aftermarket cat back and DCT and it sounded amazing, reminded me of how german V8 touring cars sound in Forza.

I just think it's strange to get a weird saloon/hatch Porsche. Wouldn't you always be wishing it could turn into a true sports car like others in their line-up? That's their bread and butter, not the giant hatchback things and crossovers they've been producing to keep the company afloat.
At least with BMW there's no sports car they make that can touch the F10 M5. Both the Z4 and i8 are in a different league. Their whole game is making a super sporty sedan or coupe that can be totally civilized and also tear up the track for the few true ballers that actually take them there.
