Rift. It's basically a free WOW knockoff. They will try to get you to pay small amounts for extra inventory space or faster mounts and whatnot, but pretty much all of the content can be accessed for free if you are poor (it just might take a little longer in some cases).
Overall, very well done, immersive sort of MMORPG. Good puzzles, lots of divergent little arching stories and quests, a ridiculously large world to explore, and reasonable endgame content.
This is definitely something to keep you busy / entertained / addicted for at least several months.

A shitty Korean game made in 2004, gladiator is the game type where you use nothing but a sword.
Its third person and the thing that made it actually enjoyable was a bug where you cancel slashes. Basically giving you free range of movement and making it a real skill/timing based fighting game.

Found out about this game OP and its been pretty nuts. Scariest game i've played in a long time. We have some friends who are afraid to even look at the TV screen if we play this on the large home TV. There are many times where i've progressed far in this and just wussed out and turned the game off.
The game has this ridiculous atmosphere that it makes with its music and you're constantly looking down dark tunnels and praying you don't run into something. If you do run into something you need to get used to turning around and sprinting really fast with the mouse because they're fast.
Wear headphones when you play this and play in a dark room.
