I doubt you've asked anyone at all but I like the film for the same reasons I like the OT. Simplistic plot with a bit of depth, good pacing, colorful characters, great action and special effects and to a lesser degree a great musical score.

Regardless of how Episode VII turned out KOTOR would still be "Legends". Those years would still be "dead" to you.
