I don't think aliens by itself was a bad movie in any sense, it was brilliantly written, the imagery is sweet, and it's scary as hell. I think what people don't like about it is when you compare it as "the sequel". It's the same goddamn story as alien, the only difference is there are more aliens, the parallels are uncountable. It's an amazing movie by itself, but most people don't look at it by itself.

I remember the website. You can look over evidence, photos, history. No one had ever done that before for a movie. A lot of people were hooked.
Theater was fully packed. Lots of people freaking out. Some verbally yelling at the characters on the screen.
Credits begin to roll. Most of the theater is waiting for the final credits. Just to see if the movie was fiction and all characters related.
Movie was unique, scared a ton of people, and if you watch it after you watched other movies that have copied it for years... I can see why.
