I have only ever been out of Australia once and I was horrified & shocked at how I saw a lot , but not all white people treat the local people of Indonesia.
When I was in Bali it was not just white Australians but Americans and British people that I saw being demanding and rude to Balinese serving/wait staff.
I tried as hard as possible to be polite and courteous to the lovely people of Indonesia/Bali , I would respond and say hello & no thank you to the street vendors , I always greeted and acknowledged the staff at the resort I stayed at (The Melasti in Legian , I thought it was great , very nice people) , I got very angry at seeing my countrymen ignore/abuse the locals whom for the vast majority were very nice people , I was even robbed and I don't hate the locals for that , it was an individual that robbed me.
