Do ALL your work as soon as it is assigned, do not bother other people and bring your own hygiene products.
>>
>>684294449
Ok then ...

Don't expose yourself too much. Have fun, but primarily mind your own business and concentrate, people can be mean for no reason.

>Do ALL your work as soon as it is assigned

Definitely that. Also, work ahead whenever you can.

What's your major going to be? That's a way to actually make this thread relevant. And public school, or private, and size, because those are important too.
>>
Do an pre-orientation thing if you can. Just remember most people starting will feel insecure, awkward and anxious on the inside. Also don't get shitfaced if you're doing drugs for the first time.
>>
Get blackout drunk everyday and always wear sunglasses to class.

Undeclared, and it's a medium-small sized public university
>>
Take care of your business, Their is a time and a place for everything and its called college. Everything includes working your ass off not because you have to, but it will make you a better person in the years to come. Also have fun, try not to say no to anything unless its really going to hurt you or someone else.

Don't think everyone parties everyday, unless you go to ECU then just assume everyone you meet is intoxicated by noon

>If you aren't absolutely sure what you want to study your first year, just get your core classes out of the way first. Don't waste your time and money in a major you are going to hate and end up switching a few years in

>Don't be one of those faggots that ends up staying in their dorm room every night and weekend. Make a conscious effort to put yourself out there and make friends. Lots of other people are in the same situation and will be friendly. The friends you make your freshmen year will likely be who you hang out with for the next 3-4 years so keep that in mind

>Pass your classes
>>
Fuck as many girls as you can. Pussy will never be that easy again

Kek. First mistake: What do you want to do? Because you can't stay undeclared for forever. And no, I'm not one of those STEM-rules Everyone Else-sucks people, but you need to hit the ground running. At a medium-large public school, you can get left behind really easily if you're not prepared, as depending on the state you're in they may or may not have sufficient funding to provide you with an actual academic advisor who doesn't have to work with 1000 students at a time.

This

*medium-small (~10000?)
>>
Go into a profitable (for example STEM) major for fuck's sake. If you wanna study English or Philosophy do it on your own time; an education on pretty much any subject is basically free via the internet and the library.

You're spending a ton of money to get a degree - So get a degree that's worth some money.
>>
>>684297999
Well, on the other hand, in a lot of cases it can be great for someone to allow themselves one or even two semesters to find what they really want to get into.

I'm almost done with med school and I can say for a fact that this is true. I took two years off after college before going back to school, and it was way harder to get laid. In med school, girls have much higher levels of maturity and self esteem, and aren't just going to drunkenly fuck you on a whim. They will in college though. I have a feeling this phenomenon is not unique to med school either, when women get past a certain age they want relationships and shit, it's pretty awful.
>>
Get drunk at parties and do crazy shit. I lit a couch on fire this semester.
>>
>>684297999
The school has around 6,000 students, and I'm in Massachusetts, so the schools have more than enough funding
>>
>>684298475

Right, but if you TRULY have no idea when you're going in, it's a waste.
>>
>>684298679
Wow you are so kewl
No you are fucking retarded you stupid retard
>hur i lit a dur on fire look at me and give me attention

I thought myself how to play the guitar in college, you lit a sofa on fire
Congratulations you fucking imbecile
>>
>>684297999
Agree with this. Although you may not have a clear image of what you want to major in, pick anything and dive in. Many people that graduate don't work in their field of study. If you languish undecided, semesters if not years will be added as core classes are filled by those who are moving ahead. Develop some social bonds, yet realize you are paying to go there.
>>
If someone offers you a drug, take it. Never turn down free weed. Despite what parents may have told you, alcohol does help you make friends
>>
>>684299021
I'm teaching myself to play guitar AND having fun being a degenerate, that's what college is about, balance
>>
>>684298462
I have a degree in english lit and I work for an IT company as a technical writer. I'm only able to do this because I went to grad school, took a year long paid internship, and I am continuing my education with technical classes.
Long story short, don't bother with any arts or humanities degree unless you have a definite plan that involves graduate school or an internship for a job where you'll use your degree.
Even then, it should be a minor and not a major.
Also, don't worry about grades so much. I had a 3.0 in undergrad and a 3.3 in grad school.
Go to all your classes no matter how tired you are, or what else you want to do.
And remember, the only thing that matters in life is how much money you retire with.

1: Don't absorb political or philosophical opinions from professors or other students. There are plenty of people willing to tell you what you should think about politics and philosophy (generally speaking poorly thought out mainstream neoleftist bullshit rules in the university system) and chances are they aren't from the Poli Sci or Phil departments and have no fucking clue what they're talking about. I would however recommend a course in political philosophy so you can form your own opinions.

2: Take a practical field (engineering) that will help you find employment. I double majored in Political Science and Philosophy before the economy went to shit, now I'm 30, doing menial labor and living at home. If you like philosophy or history or art or literature then by all means study them; just don't expect them to support you economically.
>>
>>684299207
What's balanced about being a fucking idiot?
Why didn't you read a book instead of lighting a sofa on fire? I just gave you an example you hormone-infested degenerate

Its not what you do, it's what you're proud of
>>
>>684298487
This was true for me in grad school, too. Any post-BA program is going to attract serious people who are willing to put fun second, third, or last.
>>
>>684297728
I'm a part time male model and get pussy but in college girls at clubs would literally come up to me and ask to fuck. It will literally never be any easier
