I used to post here and sucked at drawing, then I slowly got better but gave up because I still wasn't all that great after a year and just stopped caring drawing altogether.
Now I just lurk threads and post. I know a lot about all the drawfags and have kept up with their art the past 2 years and sometimes save things to look back on later. I really miss being a part of this but I'm such a lazy fuck that I don't want to bring the tablet out and draw.
The best part is even though I really loved getting to know everyone here, I was for the most part kind of ignored because I just didn't draw good enough or seemed interesting enough. But the few moments the other Drawfags talked to me, it really made my day.
But it's a little late to be complaining about cliques, that's just the way it's always been here.

These curves are essential to drawing legs, but there are also straights (you don't want every single line to be curvy, it makes the leg look wobbly and weird). As for the knees: at first you might think your knee is spherical, but it's basic geometric shape of the knee is actually rectangular (that muscle is your patella btw). You also don't want to forget the construction of the leg, to make it look like an actual form, not just curvy lines under a torso.
also you've probably heard this many times but look at r e f e r e n c e (don't become married to it though, learn from it and try stuff out yourself!)

Three, it's true that society's expectations are indeed questionable, and it's important to challenge those norms. So you're right when you say that the majority isn't always right. But you're wrong in assuming that the majority is definitely wrong and that only special snowflakes like yourself really understand the human experience. Besides, society may not be completely perfect but it exists for a very good reason and social norms have brought the human race very far.
Social norms like the ones we're discussing here exists mostly as mental shortcuts, but they also work to get a good idea of who people are and what they think. They also reduce uncomfortable situations, which are inherently negative because of how they make us feel.
You, Chris, need to actually listen and think about all sides. Ask yourself stuff like: Why do I think I'm right? Why do they? Why does society exist? Does everyone experience the world in the same way I do?
Rant aside, when you get to the point of screeching in all caps, even if it's something you're entirely correct on, it's always a good rule of thumb to take a breather.
