Ahhh, fluffy versions...for me, it's something that's always kinda in the works, but never actually gets pushed out. The "beta" fluffies escaping, and forcing an early release by Hasbio, was a huge issue, but i see them running in to snags, trying to "fix" it.
It may be that there's no solid way to "fix" the little mutants. A 2.0 version might be prettier, or better behaved, but they're already under fire from all the issues related to the first wave of fluffies. With the weight of new restrictions, increasing costs, and overall bad press, Hasbio is probably just resigned to working with the fluffies as-is, then if/when they all die out, trying a new version, likely with a different name on the door.
I think fluffies generally wander in and out of fashion, like how everyone who was anyone had to have a miniature dog a few years ago.

There's only so much insanity a person can create. Wolfram grew out of Fluffies, and took it all with her. Some of the drawings are saved, but a lot of the text stories are lost.
