literally everyone at the top of the leaderboards is there because they play roadhog exclusively
his hook is a guaranteed insta kill if he grabs anyone below 200
his hook moves far too fast and has a huge hitbox, so you don't get punished for missing one
unless the roadhog that hooked you is bad, you DON'T have any chance to escape
his easy playstyle is far too rewarding for bad players to get an advantage, his skillshot hook doesn't even require skill, you're guaranteed a hook if you pretty much just shoot it in one direction. even i gave him a shot and laughed at how easy it was to win with him.
I really think Bastions turret damage is a bit to strong but that's it.

I was around level 150 in closed beta.
Game is okay balanced but there are still few things that might show as problem when people learn a bit.
Tracer does too much damage from midrange.
McCree is still suitable for any comp or situation.
Widowmaker is extremly strong if you can aim, her non charged up scoped shots should do less damage.
Zenyatta is garbage in pub games, dies to way too many things.
D.va needs to move faster when shooting, as it is she is a worse Winston.
That is mostly it from semi competitive perspective.

reaper has time for his invunerability and if you aren't a fucking potato you should see when his using hook and most of the 200 hp champs have some kind of a dash and you most likely won't get surprised by roadhog because his chains cling quite loud and his easy target to just kite because his shotgun has quite a short range and his heal isn't even an offensive ability like other tank champs has all abilities doing damage or helping your allies roadhog is IMO one of the most balanced ones and his kit really much fits him.

Bastion is easy to deal with in certain situations, ie genjis deflect, soldiers clip plus grenade, mcree left attack or ult ect. Even so if he gets set up in a nice spot hes unbearable and then gets ult. Hanzo needs a better close attack cause he has none really. Other than that i don't think it needs anything, a minor buff or nerf here and there, but every character is op if you know how to use them and have a good team setup. I regularly got 20 kill games with rineheart and other support characters. But my overall favorite character is 76, great survivability and dps, decent ult. But he suffers with non linear maps, so secondary would prob be hanzo. But i love this game cause i find it fun to play just about any character, and they are easy to learn and hard to master. Excited for the new game modes and other shit to come with the full game. And yea i got shit grammar, idgaf im typing from my smartphone so s a d.

I am not a fan of the game however it should be said that it is not because of the game being bad or unpolished, simply because I cant deal with that end of FPS games. In my mind on one side of the FPS spectrum you have games like csgo and the battlefeild one where you breach everything. At the other end you have TF2 and Overwatch. I played to like level 20 I think but overall I was impressed with how balanced it felt from what I played. I tried everything and it all felt good and smooth. The only thing that annoyed me was seeing everyone switch to bastion and tobjorn near the end of defending the payload but I'm sure players switching wont be allowed in competitive idk.

Just some thoughts.
Reinhardt is way OP. You dont even have to paly him as a tank. Just go right into the enemy team and hold down leftclick and 2 shot everybody with massive range. If anyone comes close just charge them into a wall for 500 dmg.
Meis spraygun should do less damage. The freezing effect is good enough, she got her rightclick for damage.
Junkrat and pharah does WAY to little damage to THEMSELFS when clsoe range. Heck, the fucking tip says "Used enclosed areas to avoid pharahs rockets", when she can just fire them right into the ground where shes standing for massive damage while taking like 10% damage herself. Same with junkrat. They should increase self damage so you cant just spam AOE on the ground.
Torbjörn is very dull. After setting up the turret all he does he run around with a lame shotgun and gives armor. Remove armor buff and add another construction or something.
Bastion should NOT be able to fire 200 shots straight with OP damage. Maybe make his turret overheat after 100 shots?
Roadhog is too strong. Can just sit on objective and delete anyone with that 50000 damage gun, also hook is instakill.
Zaryas shields are too short/has too short cooldowns. Her passive should give her HP instead of damage. She is really not very tanky. When ur shift is on cd u just die.
McCree is a one trick pony
Lucio is WAY to tanky and does too much damage to be such a good support hero. He is probably the best hero in the game

Nobody in my team ever plays a support and unless i do its a guaranteed defeat.
Here are my thoughts on the champions:
Playing as mercy is fucking bullshit when none of your team mates are protecting you.
Lucio is pretty good on maps where you can get environment kills.
Symmetras teleporter prety much guarantees a victory if you can hide it well.
Zenyatta is a fucking beast when you dont have to 1v1 anybody.
Reinhardt is definately my favorite champion. The shield can pretty much only be destroyed with group effort, pharah ulti or a bastion. And pinning an enemy at the wall kills them instantly unless theyre a tank.
D.va may lack in offensive abilities but the fact that you can just run away when your mech is destroyed and never die is well worth it.
Roadhog is just one of those champions that i never learned to play as. Always miss the damn hook or get rekt by the one i grabbed right after doing so.
Winstons dps may be shit and the ulti is just meh, but the mobility makes is a great champion to ambush those pesky low hp champions. With a healer you can hold any point without a problem.
Zarya may look likea fucking cancerous lesbian but makes an excellent counter for bastions and turrets.
Torbjörn - wtf is this shit? never learned to play with this and relying on the turret alone isnt good enough.

In my opinion Tracer does too much damage considering how difficult it is to hit her. Bastion's turret form melts people way too fast. Hanzo doesn't even need to hit people half the time to get a hitmarker. Winston hardly deals any damage and gets taken down by the likes of Reaper way too quickly. Overall favourite characters are D.va and Zarya.

Unless your team is actually all playing defense. I sat back and watched a defending bastions back and racked up the kills on the people determined to flank him. We turned a game from getting stomped at the first point to holding the next one like pros. And that was just with 2 competent defenders while the rest of the team went out and got murdered.
I think they really need to look at the damage output and health for a lot of the characters, I don't know how Blizzard got so far into open beta without realizing their balancing issues, especially sick they are so meticulous about it with their other games. With the exception of their one game breaking strategy (example: Death Knights) that they refuse to acknowledge until it has convinced enough people to buy whatever expansion they are pushing. Seriously, that part is in every Blizzard game since WoW.

I have some different balance changes. Bastion shouldnt have his gun nerfed, his reconfigure should take longer, and his self heal shouldnt heal so fast and be available 24/7. Widowmakers sniper should take a little longer to charge. Roadhogs self heal should either hae a longer cool down, or do less healing. Also his hook should have slightly less range. Other than those, i think the game is actually decently balanced.

During the beta these two were my favorite champs to be. Usually I hate being a healer; I find them dull or too vulnerable but I found her fun to be, mostly I think from the ability to "jump" between allies. I'd use it pretty often to dash around all the time to avoid people trying to murder me. I'd often go full games without dying by being tricky. Her pistol does surprisingly good damage and is pretty accurate. Only thing I found is pubs who are mercy I find don't make enough use out of her damage boost and just sit on heal all the time, even with the target taking no damage for long periods. But they're probably just figuring her out.
Reinhardt I enjoy but it depended far too much on who was on my team. If I was playing with pubs and none of them would make use of my shield or I found myself alone too much I found him boring / easily taken out and would swap out. IMO he's the only tank super reliant on backup but I'll admit I was still trying to find a good balance on him.
Over the course of the beta ( I got into a few before the open) I didn't really find any one super imbalanced. Most heroes that I found were cheap I eventually figured out who their counters were or what people tended to do on them and would do decently well against them. Except for some one who can be Hanzo, fuck Hanzo. I'm not sure if killcams show their exact view or if its factoring in my latency with the netcode but some of those arrows don't look like they connect at all.

It was not really meant as an insult, i grew up with a pc and consoles. I own a ps4 and a wiiu from this cicle, but mostly i play on pc since it's simply the better experience.
The game is good for both casual and hardcore gamers.
I would say that bastion feels out of place. I see the game as a fast paced game and bastion stays still too much time and that will cause problems with balance. Mccree is strong at all distances, I think the close range damage should be nerfed. And Widowmaker is just incredibly powerful in the right hands. But again, that's just the design, perhaps increase the charge time to decrease quickscope damage.
All the others I think are decent enough, in pro level the metas will dictate the tier lists but all of them have potential to be fun to play with of against in a casual game.
About the game details, it's just amazing. The level design is top notch.
