I feel as if it's too late to start playing WoW. I wish I played it back when it first came out :(
just do it man, I started a year ago and it's rather fun, though I've never played it continuously and never levelled a character past 70. On off playing though is quite enjoyable
search for "excalibur wow" go to their page, download/create user. Experience old wow
Just why you don't like the expansions doesn't mean they are not good in theyr way dude. I started playind wow in pandaria (yeah, I didn't played it from the beggining) and I get that old players like the game before the major expasions, but you gotta respect the changes in the game.
WoW is boring as fuck.
the best online shit was a roleplay server based on san andreas multipayer platform, but it died miserably a year ago.
i wasted a big part of my lfie playing that shit im glad it's gone
I am checking it out now. Any advice? Never had a private server work for me
That's a good point tbh. You should enjoy the game to the limit, not only play the game to lvl up. Nobody is interested in the history nowadays, only want to up, get mounts then do pvp/pve.
Love this argument.
If i took a dump on your chest then you said you liked me better before I did that is it still rose tinted glasses? Or maybe people actually know what they like.
You could easily start playing wow now, but a few words of advice.
1. Avoid veteran players while learning/leveling though the game. They've done it a thousand times and have gotten all the flavor and fun out of leveling already so they try to just get though it as fast as possible and will probably suggest you do the same. Ignore them and just quest though zones. It's where the real value of WOW is hidden.
2. Don't look anything up mechanically if you can avoid it. The game has a built in tutorial system that highlights new systems (specs, talents, new spells, etc) as they become available to you. I'd suggest against trying to figure everything out before you get there.
3. At level 20 go and get your riding training, this will let you get on a mount and cruise around faster, you'll appreciate this. Trust me.
Everyone who believes that any expansion was good should shoot themselves. Even BC was shit. Its all because of BC and Wotlk that wow is so fucking casual now. Vanilla is and will always be the best
Blizzard is in talks with the guys that were running that huge private server that got nuked recently. Seems they are expressing interest in something along the lines of a legacy server system.
We can only hope.
All great MMOs have been ruined or shut down for the most part. There isn't one worth playing anymore.
World of warcraft is like a 2002 civic, it was great when it came out but has now been greatly defiled by too many childish add-ons.
Unless I am just getting old.
Becauae it's true. Been playing since the beginning so I have a good grasp on how WoW works. Expansions wise it was pretty good. But people saw Pandaren and started circlejerking eachother so hard about how the whole xpac is going to be shit that all they saw was shit. If you become shit you will only see shit.
>most specs not even viable or used
>hybrids forced into healing or tanking in case of warrior
>had to bring 10 paladins to a raid just to keep 5 min blessings up on everyone
>pvp was a one shot fest with only a few classes viable
The only thing good about vanilla was the difficulty but that mostly came from poor class design, itemization and needing 40 people for a raid and the fact that you needed to attune and progress through content
This may not be what you wanna hear. But if you want a good Wow experience go play on a private server! Theres only people enjoying the game, and very few of the salty tryhards. You will be able to find leveling mates and many new or newer people.
I can recommend Warmane they have different servers for different expansions of wow which progress in the timeline, but you wont feel any of that untl you hit max level
What a crock of shit I just started playing again a few weeks ago after being gone a few years. The game is as lively as ever. People keep saying wow is dead rip wow. Wow is still going strong.
ofcourse vanilla wasnt perfect, it was the first release of wow afterall, im not sure what you are trying to get at? or maybe you're just retarded.
the difficulty and the way you progressed through pvp and even pve was great.
as for spec viability and balance there was only a problem if you wanted to do high tier anything. I had tons of fun on my druid and i never healed
I played untill it turned into "Kung Fu Panda". Waste of time after that. Whiners didn't want to grind to levelup, so they made it sp you could start at the top. Fuckers still whined because they didn't know how to fight PvP.
I've heard faggots say this for 11 years. Wows dead oh man wow gonna die for sure this time last quarter of 2015 2 million new subscribers with 12 million worldwide. Stfu with this game is dead because it's only dead to you
that's because there is no reward for doing the harder content, it isn't a "fix" to just separate difficulties of the same thing when you just get lined up to do the next difficulty of the same content right after.
A lot of what Wow has become is just monotonous levels of boring easy content. You can see and do every piece of content in wow by just hitting one button like... steady shot or some shit. When valor got re-released my mythic guild required us to do LFR's to get as much as we could. I fell asleep tanking a good three or four times and it didn't wipe the group and I didn't get kicked. It's just boring and a level of stupidity that shouldn't be catered to
The game has been out for over a decade so most of these complaining faggots have dedicated thousands of hours into the game. Then at some point left the game. Now they say it sucks or its dead when they have no idea because they stopped playing
I think a Legacy server would be better. Vanilla was dog shit. What made it so popular though was the community. With group finder being added socialization became less and less needed. So a legacy server would have the good gameplay of current WoW with the community of Vanilla.
Good for you man, I hope you are enjoying yourself. Also kudos on rolling tank right out of the gates, it's a great way to meet people in game. Everyone wants to have a tank on their friends list.
Nah, it's not too late. Although, that said, the game has lost it's initial feel of, well, community. When I first started playing it was... surreal; a feeling of friends scattered across the world playing together to accomplish what at times felt impossible. I remember raiding with my guild wiping over and over on the same boss phase, and the feeling of accomplishment washing over you as the boss finally dies. I don't know if it's nostalgia or what, but I think I was happy then or maybe less sad. I'm ranting now, but the point is; it's not too late to play WoW, just don't expect it to be all that great. It's just another online game now, like Call of Duty; where you jump in and kill stuff, and then jump out.
Rather playing on a vanilla private server than the current retail server. I have 2 fully geared (PvE and PvP) characters on retail and it is boring as fuck. I quit my subscription and wait till Legion comes out. Until then, I'm spending my time with Kronos.
Anyways OP don't listen to the faggots. If you want to play it then play it. I like playing with newer players than older players because the only thing veteran players know how to do is complain.
i used to love that game. Was in Fury and Ascent back in vanilla/bc/wotlk, started losing interest when my real life friends stopped playing. I still play every xpac, but I don't last longer than 6 months these days.
It's a fun game, but it's a lot better with friends.
Yeah, I started playing again recently after being gone for years. I didn't expect any of my old friends to still be playing, but I still held hope. Unfortunately, they've all moved on with their lives. I never felt like such a loser until that moment of realization that I've been left behind.
Go to warmane dont listen to the mad cucks that say its all bugged out they are just pissed because they pay to play on shitty retail
I leveled on the 1x wotlk server and almost all the quest chains work, the bg work even at low level, and they do bugfixes all the time look at the developpement page, its good stuff
Got 70 or so days on feenix I racked up between exams when I was too young to drink, was fun as fuck raiding in vanilla and felt super rewarding, shame the server pretty much died and now there's no good vanilla. Tbc onwards is just too simple to have fun in, I like the whole struggle of 40 retards trying to work together
Hunter is the easiest one (leveling-wise)
Rogue the most op one.
Warrior the slowest one (I play one)
But just play whatever you're up to man. I picked warrior because I felt like it lol
End game rogues and mages dominate everything. They're better than warlocks even, only thing that is stronger is a warrior with recklessness and ashkandi
>mfw playing retail for the first time right now
>mfw its pretty alright
>mfw the nostalgia of wotlk and TBC is entierly lost on me and im enjoying the game as is, somewhat looking forward to legion
>mfw people are going to take the piss out of me because im enjoying this and not enjoying their nostalgia
if anyone sees this who always wanted to try (retail) WoW now is the time im told, you have time to level and try some endgame content just before legion comes out
also try to play with 3-5 other people with atleast one whos actually played before atleast, it really helps the experience
Giving away my WoW account with 3+ months of game time, pretty much every class maxed and geared. Oh, and a shitload of gold. First person to roll trips or higher gets it.
like i said, rogues are fun but they're not the most op or close to being the most op. most op class is either druid or mage. of course, the player's skill level ultimately determines which is better
Let's face it. Tbc was the best expansion no matter what, gathering people to quest or do instances. Guilds being a guild and not a title under your name where nobody even knows who you are.
Wanting to level up to get your mount. Waste all the gold you gathered from 1 to 60 for that epic mount. Frind 3 months for that nether drake. Arena.. wotlk was for me the last good expansion. Maybe too casual but i liked the gameplay.
The stats. Paladins stacking intelleft just spamming flash heal.
I liked spamming the same skill and switching quickly from targets or removing debufs or bufs. Same goes for dps. I hate how wow brought real rotations into it. When is the last time you went to a summoning stone and got a party to an instance. Walking 20 minutes to the instance while sniffing the vibe of the game and discovering all these little things.
If there is an easy way to do things. Ofcourse i will go that route, even though i can choose differently. It's human nature. This game is dead and i played it since beta. Go fuck yourslef those who started playing since cata don't know shit.
dude, the game was complete shite before rotations. just mindless button pressing. the game's mechanics actually require skill now, but that's not even the problem. it's the community
I do FL and BWD every week. But I spend it as quick as I get it. Just soent most of my gold on hexweave bags. It's nuts seeing people with so much gold. I look up farming stuff and I dtill don't see how they get so much.
Nostalrius and Blizzard are planning something.
It may not be too late.
All WoW veterans should go and take Nosts survey. It's on their forums. Your opinion can help the future of the most ground breaking MMO of all time.
Ey. What the phuk is wrong with dk's?
If your argument is - "they op blah blah" or - "only noobs play them"
Please neck yourself you spastic fuck. Each class has lore and a background.
Dk's are a hero class, hence over powered.
40 retards on voice chat screaming at each other cause palladins.
Then the ear splitting headache after spending 4-6 hours on a boss and finally getting it down and they all scream like little bitches.
I both miss and never want this again.
While the story parts of Pandaria and Draenor were absolute fucking garbage, at least Pandaland had decent and very detailed world design, unlike Draenor. Draenor was just fucking bland, like the areas were designed by interns.
I feel like Draenor has just been blizzard freaking the fuck out trying to revive TBC. Like theyve basically said "we dont know how to move forward at this point in time, so heres what worked 8 years ago!". Its very sad seeing something you love die like this. Its like watching a family member or friend slowly succumb to heroin.
I do think Blizzard could have something to gain if they made a genuine vanilla server, but I think the "talking to Nostalrius" news is just an attempt to save face in the community, and to make the "pristine server" offering seem a tiny bit less ridiculous.
I do think you'd get a chance to have your cake and eat it too, with a vanilla server. People can have one char where they enjoy questing and levelling, and one end game account, since regular WoW is basically all end game now anyway.
It seems more like a throwback to Wotlk than TBC imo. Wotlk (and even more so, pandaria before it) actually had a new land that genuinely felt like a new land to explore.
I do think they made Draenor a tad hard to navigate on foot sometimes, but clearly, reading between the lines they acknowledge that flying mounts was a mistake.
