Name a better band than this.
Degree of difficulty: The band must have been active and influential for the last 25 years consistently.
Radiohead is the best example of "emperor's new clothes"
Every new album is hailed as a automatic classib, but if was signed by another artist, the reviews will be different. The last album is OK, but it not deserves more than a 7/10
both have been active and influential for longer than any of the faggots in radiohead have been alive. And both are the only famous musicians of 60s rock still making music worth listening to.
Coldplay is far superior to Radiohead.
Ellen doesn't let just anyone on it's show.
trash? Radiohead have a pleny of great albums that win awards for being the best and they aren't overselled artists as some pop ones now... You know what trully is trash? Newfags as you
Dinosaur Jr basically created grunge. There are Soundgarden songs that sound like copies of DJ songs... DJ is totally underrated.
Actually a good band to bring up because they both have whiney lead singers. I love J. Mascis though. Tom Yorke makes me want to punch people. I'd probably love radiohead if he would shut the fuck up.
He's right you know.
One could make an argument that the Beatles are still active with the anthology releases, the remasters, the Beatles 1 album. No matter how long they've been disbanded, the Beatles will always be your favorite band's favorite band.
OK Computer is the best album of the 90s? Yeah, I don't know about that...
I'm totally stealing your description of RH. That sums it up TBH.
Phish never inspired anyone because their phans are phaggots who smooke poot and sit on their asses all day.
Americans always had the soul and the brits always had the talent and polish.
Friends with musicians. Can confirm. I have no musical talent and thus am not very much into the beatles. You gotta admit they, and their production innovations(which they just happened to benefit from because they were the biggest band with money when those techniques were invented) changed nearly all of music that came after.
Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Muse and pretty much every Stadium Rock bands would not exist if wasnt for U2.
>All of their songs literally sound the same
>Constantly confuse one song for another because of how fucking similar they are
>"H-h-h-hey guys! We have an album coming out too!"
>All of their albums have a distinct sound, while maintaining a style that is their own
>Influential and have cemented themselves as one of the best bands of this generation
>The world stops whenever Radiohead releases any new music
HUMP DE BUMP YOU GOTTA BUMP DE HUMP
Name a radiohead song even half as bad as that song.
You have to admit though, War is a pretty good album.
Nice roast mate but you didn't rustle any jimmies
Also, this counts.
The Strokes are one of the quintessential rock bands imo
Best band probably to ever exist tbh. Literally God tier
man they have so many good albums
>chocolate and cheese
>12 golden country greats
Not to mention their live in chicago or live at stubb's sets. Picked up the Skycruiser EP the other day.
good taste, everything metallica's done in the past 25 years has been worth a listen am i right?
Came here to post this
lemmy was a methhead and a faggot. confirmed by friends. that was a great song though... you know? that one song motorhead did?
yeah and we all like rush but we're talking influence and they don't have that much. They were great, but derivative for most of their catalog.
I have shit 4 different hues, with 3 different consistencies. Just because each shit I take is unique doesnt mean the shit isnt shit. I share photos of my shit with all of my autistic friends they all love it. They say i make the best shit theyve ever seen. Each shit i photograph is very distinct
what if I told you, when lenny died, I didn't give a fuck. Not one fuck.
The only emotion I felt either way was disgust, that suddenly everyone's posting RIPics of this old fag with alien skin tag ballsack puss sacs on the side of its face
So jealous this is the best band on here that you say lies
None of those bands they influenced are any good though. I could just as well argue that they just made generic post-punk music, and that Joy Division, The Sound, Pere Ubu, Wire, and Wipers all made more interesting music and did it first.
So much teenage plebery in this thread all these bands wish they had as much influence or even a fraction of the career as the stones.
trying to listen to them *again* now... nice I guess but kinda boring... reminds me of NRBQ... also a nice but boring band. good for a road trip.
in terms of influence... well what are we talking about by 'influence'? musical influence? or cultural? Sure lots of musicians got high and saw the dead.. but were they really influenced by the dead's americana jam jazz?
I bet punk bands like the minutemen and minor threat spurred more people to start bands than anyone... but those bands probably didn't amount to much
I like Converge a bit.
They were kind of influential on a few bands I love, Gaza (and Cult Leader), The Secret, Nails...
He was a roadie for Hendrix so he gets cool cred for that and "Ace Of Spades" was an undeniable ripper. You had to turn it up whenever it came on the radio. Plus he looked cool the way he sang & played live. He wasn't a big musical loss like Bowie but he was a cool dude in my book.
So they've been working on song fragments in between songs they wrote over a decade ago.
Maynard said himself he has no real passion for making new music anymore, unless it fits into his current lifestyle, which is wine making. Shitty, expensive wine at that
My nigger I'm sorry, but if you don't like Dave Grohl you're a worthless piece of garbage.
hey dave is a cool dude but he's not extremely innovative, musically speaking. look at all the crap music he churned out for sonic highways... he's a pop rocker with a great smile and energy. he's not bowie or anything...
He looked like a goth cowboy cuck with testicles on his face, ace of spades was alright but it wasn't groundbreaking.
Maybe now him and Hendrix are both dead, he's driving around a real musicians' equipment again in some other divine realm.
Gary Clark Jr
The White Stripes
Doyle Bramhall II & Smokestack
The Black Crowes
And on and on. Lots of great bands out there.
Why are these threads always filled with fratboy bro-tier cockrock. Almost all of these bands suck ass.
I can't say bettter, but Clutch is pretty much even with Radiohead for me. However, every Clutch album is awesome, where Radiohead album is not. Just Radiohead has some staggeringly awesome albums that make up for their stinkers.
That was one of the worst lists I've ever seen. They excluded Jaki Liebezeit, Sara Lund, and Damon Che. It was just more dadrock circlejerking with some token indie bands thrown at the back.
I thought we were going by good bands, not influential ones
nickel back is terrible OP, you should kys for posting this
Radiohead is awesome, but these guys are better. Radiohead can get a little whiny at times.
by a fucking slither bro
Last time I saw them surfacing was that Glastonbury thing, they looked like fucking skeletons, mick jagger's total mass must be what, like 50% pure heroin, they played so badly and I'm not surprised. What I'm surprised at is that they're not long dead by now
Used to be mid tier rock. Now they are nothing
Yep, she only seems to allow the most popular bands on her show... Like most fucks on TV these days...
Remember when conan used to host slipknot, lets see her do that and not have her almost all female audience flip the fuck out like nignogs...
>mick jagger's total mass must be what, like 50% pure heroin
>off by one
I just saw them in July and they brought the house down. And yes they are frail old men, who have influenced more bands than any other mentioned in this list and your mom would still lick David Bowie's shit off Mick Jagger's cock
He doesn't suck dude, he's just not a rated drummer; or at least shouldn't be,
Just isn't that skilful, people just praise him because he's the ultimate panderer and tbh fam a mid tier singer and guitarist
gay ass "raggae-rock" for teenagers with dreadlocks who huff glue
Good album, but it belongs in nineties. You could release OK Computer today and it would still sound modern. Unlike Ten, Dookie, Nevermind, Definitely Maybe etc.
The Smashing pumpkins haven't been relevant in years m8, your post fucking sucks OP
No that's Loveless by My Bloody Valentine. No other album from the 90s is that sonically rich.
I used to be a subscriber for many, many years instill they started legitimizing shit music like Britney Spears. I've only read it sparingly since, usually for Matt Taibbi's stuff.
>comparing Steve Gadd to Buddy Rich
Buddy Rich is the master of all rudiments and was an international sensation because he was faster than anyone, and still to this day no one can match his mastery of paradiddles and 7 stroke rolls.
The White Stripes aren't a band anymore
Nobody cares about the Raconteurs
The Jayhawks, good as they are, are not Radiohead material, they are dadrock fans
same for Wilco, and you can hear Radiohead influences on their past few albums
Sure is. His early stuff is beatnik crooner, then he did a 360. He may have a unconventional voice, but so do heavy metal and punk bands.
I don't subscribe to them but they still employ rock critics and have a huge backlog of credibly-written reviews
and try to deny it but Britney Spears was a pop sensation
do you really think a music culture magazine is just going to pretend she wasn't?
Fuck your shit, this is the best drummer.
That's fine but those bands weren't listed as being "better than Coldplay", I listed them in response to the person who said there's been no good music made in the last 25 years.
Pearl Jam is absolute garbage OP, fuck off with that
There is no fucking drummer better than Neil Pert.
