Post god-tier heavy metal albums.
I've gotta give this one a listen.
Yeah,I haven't listened to megadeth much, they seem good.they seem very political?they have peace sells(self explanatory)and then they've that album with government officials standing around an alien
Yeah, they've always had a lot of politically-charged tracks. Rust In Peace is widely considered their best, but anything up to and including Countdown to Extinction is great. Give it a listen.
This is Heavy Metal

Yeah I'm just listening to holy wars now.I can actually hear the bass player so I'll be listening to these guys a lot now
This is one album and band that never gets old.
This was also the last Slayer album I really loved until Repentless. Repentless rips.
im a melodeath man myself but good fucking god do I love myself some melodic black
Most underrated NWOBHM album, Satan's Court In The Act
This whole fucking album is elder god tier, so listen to it now!
Pretty overrated album, it has some mediocre songs in it.
Always makes me want to invade Poland for the glory of the Reich.
I see your point, and I agree about NOBT having slightly more "weak points" (although still good) than powerslave. It is really nice to go to /b/ and actually discuss shit instead of ending every argument with "ur a fagget"
Master of Puppets. It decimated every other metal album for years to come.
Same goes for most people here who aren't completely anti-social. But there's people coming here to let off some steam even. But you're right, /b/ has a special kind of hostility that makes starting a conversation in specific threads hard.
I imagine being in 1970 hearing that album for the first time
you just bought it at the record store
the needle touches the vinyl
WHAT IS THIS
THAT STAAAAANDS BEFORE MEEE
I think I would be spooked
Ride the Lightning is actually one of my least favourite Metallica albums. Something about most of the songs that just doesn't sit right.
Like Escape. Hate it. First time I heard it, I thought, "This sounds like Metallica, but it's totally fucking lame. Who is it?"
But that's just me. I might be the only one on the planet who thinks Master of Puppets, Load, and Lulu are all masterpieces.
They are cunts. 6-7 new songs, the trooped, iron maiden, Fear of the dark, and the rest are 3 classics. That is literally how Maiden has been touring for the last 9 years.
I think Blaze had a better solo career too, but that's probably because his Maiden albums weren't well acclaimed by all fans, but he naturally got better later in the 2000s and that was more obvious by comparing his work on VXI (mostly) and his solo career.
Dickinson was treated as the best vocalist of the generation by most Maiden fans though, and his solo career was no match for his Maiden work for the most part, so some people ignored it.
Bullshit, it's melodic and thematic as fuck, some great stories in there. Very dark too. But it's the sessionists behind him that blow Harris and O'Brain out the water as much as I adore them. It was so fresh for the 90s. I have nothing against Blaze, I saw him in Manchester a few years ago in a tiny pub when he toured Silicon Messiah, lovely guy, has endured a lot of grief and financial trouble but his voice does absolutely nothing for me.
>God Tier Metal
>not posting Death
I don't like Back in the Village as much, but from Powerslave I'd like it if they toured with the title track again. I feel like songs from Dance of Death were always looked down upon by the band itself too, they never seem to give those any love.
But hey, at least they don't tour the full version of The Angel and the Gambler.
More metal than Metallica>>683338899
This thread is full of shit, here enjoy something that is 1000% cooler
Im Suprised system of a down hasn't been posted in here.
Hypnotize, mesmerize, toxicity.
The people in this thread has pretty shitty taste
Metallica is their opening act bitches
hatrs gonna hate
you r all just jelous that the cd sold out
MoP was Metallica's pinnacle, but it was also their swansong. After Cliff Burton died, there was no soul left in the band. Sadly, after MoP nothing ever quite stacked up to it again.
Is by far the best Dickinson album and the one tailored for his voice
Speedwolf is ok
Not him, but in my country Meshuggah and Lamb or god are considered Slipknot/korn type of stuff, mostly entry level stuff for non-metal publics.
... How can you not like Back in the Village? Its like their most complex song (and we all know how similar Maiden can sound as Harris is obsessed with reusing chromatic progressions), riffs are fucking brilliant, lyrically badass and you can absolutely tell it's purely Dickinson and Smith. Easily one of Maidens strongest compositions, always wondered why it never got more attention.
No different than sound of white noise, risk, or any of that crap.
If you put the best 12 songs of Load and Reload in the same album you get the best Corrosion of conformity album after 1995
Lol, Cranium, been a while, their intros are funny as fuck
A friend of mine put Load into the tape deck of my car the day it dropped. It made it all of about 45 seconds before it was flying out of the window going down the highway at 75mph
Rocking acoustics at the end of The Prophercy though! However I do agree. My current favourite tracks are The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner and Out of the Silent Planet. Play 'em live you bastards
This band released one demo and then this EP and fucking disappeared. Good shit.
Damn, I would give anything to hear some songs from Somewhere In Time live. Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner is a really good track, the opening track is great, Wasted Years is very catchy, Deja Vu is great, Alexander the Great is (you guessed it) great. Too bad they only seemed to play Heaven Can Wait in old concerts, and they refuse to play Alexander the Great at all
There are some good tracks, but only if you listen to it on a mixtape of rock, not metal.
For Metal- it sucked.
The Album- Medocre
The Cover Art- So bad I literally made my own replacement cover with HR Giger art (Not Joking)
Until It Sleeps
2 x 4
Good in its own right, great stoner rock.
Ronnie is alright.
The rest- burn the witch, burn to ash and bone.
not entirely sure if this qualifies as heavy metal but my favorite album ever.
Good lad. Cure and Bleeding Me a fucking excellent tracks. Pretend it's not metallica if it makes it easier. Love me some Ronnie too. You can tell they were just having fun and loosening off.
Why do maidenfags are so autistic and only talk about maiden?
Dude someone already gave you a reason: Iron Maiden always plays safe live. You will never hear those songs since most of their public are fanboys that just want to sing OHOHOHOHOHOOHOH one more time.
This one gets some hate, but I personally think it's awesome. Not as good as the other ones here, but still one of their best
The entire album is a piece of shit. How can you go from a band that created "The Four Horsemen" and turn into a band that made "Whiskey in a jar"? After Master of Puppets, Metallica was a soulless husk of what they used to be.
>but I personally think it's awesome.
Look i respect other people taste, you can like crap (i love Anal Cunt), it's your right, but don't pretend is not shit. The last good album Maiden did was Dance of Death.
Got this CD a few days ago.
These don't qualify as GodTier
The lack of Rainbow and Dio in this thread disturbs me.
>and turn into a band that made "Whiskey in a jar"
God, now i know you are an underage piece of shit.
It's a traditional song, the cover is a cover pic related's version
And both are great.
Thunder and Lightning is an underrated classic just like Sabbath's born again
Oh look, it's that one elitist metal faggot that nobody likes to party with because he complains about metal not having enough circle of fifths and always played in A Minor. Don't just get fucked, simple cease all life functions.
>I blame the cancer.
He has been loosing notes for 10 years, the problem is that he refuses to sing stuff that will fit him (Moonchild, wasted years, infinite dreams) and wants to sing stuff like Aces high, a song that he never actually played well in the last 20 years
Amazing album, one of the best ever.
Legit my fav album.
I love listening to an album start to end and feeling like ive come out of it with a story and a few solid songs i can blast.
In his defense, a number of fans would be pissy if they were to cut songs like Aces from their setlists for good. He's trying to hang on, but I agree they need to focus more on songs he can do. Probably why Aces and Hills aren't on their tour right now.
Manowar never made it too big in the states, but has a strong ass cult following nonetheless. But over in Europe it's constant sold out shows every fucking time. I'd kill to see them at least once.
"THEY CAN'T STOP US, LET 'EM TRY! FOR HEAVY METAL WE WILL DIE!"
I got fucking chills the first time I heard that.
Sodom > Destruction > Kreator. Kreator peaked in 88
Manowar is complete shit and has always been shit. If you gonna meme at least meme good stuff
I am bootyblasted, but I'll never be more bootyblasted than elitist metal faggots interjecting with some stupid comment about good albums
It's metal, bang your head and have a good time.
shitty thread this has been
I know what your problem is. You're a faggot.
Yeah. I actually think Book of Souls was a good album all around, and his voice sounds great... until he sings in a higher pitch. It's clear he won't last for more than 6 years.
>>when i heard him belt out the lines to blood brothers the first time.
That feel man. And for no reason at all King of Kings makes me feel somehow entitled. Its brilliant. That bonus track though... These guys are nonexistant here in australia and when i head Die for Metal it was probably the most relatable song id ever heard. Walked into a bar in the middle of the city one day and it turned out to be this tight group of metalheads. Best bros to drink with are metalbro's. Nordic, icelandic, germans and the sweeds, awesome dudes. The middle easten metal heads are the strangest bros ive drank with.
Not him but i have a Reed fan friend that loves the album.
I don't thing you understand what poser means.
He could sing classics that fit his current voice. He also needs to stop jumping like a clown he doesnt have the endurence he used to have, give me a good voice over him weaving a flag, saw them 2 years ago 2 days before Black Sabbath and was sad that Ozzy was singing his songs better than Dickinson's his material. (but it was an amazing black sabbath show, and ozzy sang better than the first time i heard him).
Now that's an amazing album, I do not understand the hate for Elements, but UP was one of the best albums of that decade.
I am probably going to get some shit for this but, this fucking album is so sick. The whole story, how real it is, how fucking weird it all sounds. It kills me man.
This guy knows. That is top tier metal.
Algo, Aria from Russia is fucking great.
I agree about the jumping. It's nice to see he's still eager to give everything he's got on stage, but I've noticed that after those crazy jumps, you can barely hear his voice for a while until he catches his breath and continues normally.
About Ozzy, I don't know how good his voice was in the concert you attended, but last time I saw Ozzy his voice was absolutely terrible.
I think it's a great album. Some songs may be a bit longer than they need to be, but Speed of Light had an aggressive guitar lick to it I love. Saw them in concert last month.
I still have a pink shirt of this i use in different shows.
I see the argument there. Some of RatB and Empire is repeated, probably for the sake on length. And I wanted to see them , but was eight hours from the nearest show and had another thing to be at the next morning. Feels bad man
>i thought deceiver of the gods was pretty god tier
