What's /b/ driving?
Pic related, recently purchased about a month ago
Almost 190k on this old bitch, still purrs like a kitten.
Had it for about a year now.
What is that?
Model, production year?
Here's mine ride.
Why is it on the ceiling? mad skillz bruh
Great car anon. Drives like a gocart. I wanted one too.
do you tow anything with it?
we have all gmc at work and i find the ''tow button'' (whatever it's called i'm hammered) is always being fucky.
>down shifts on flat ground for no reason
>won't down shift up hills when i need it to
ours range from 09 to 2016 and our old 02 was (in my opinion) the best truck i have ever driven, ya know for work.
You can thank GM's shitty torque management feature for that shit
For these newer trucks to really awaken and drive like they used to, you need to get a programmer and disable the active fuel management and torque management shit.
Then they run like scalded apes.
I'm tied between this g35 infinity and a BMW Z3. What does b think?
OP here, if I had to buy a new car today, would heavily consider a focus RS.
Not really a fan of hatches... but for around 35-40k you're getting a lot with these.
AWD, sounds great, powerful, comes in 6 speed.
Such a sexy car. Might look into an Audi since I hear they're basically built with Lamborghini parts.
>they're basically built with Lamborghini parts.
This. Audi's are super nice cars especially for their price demographic. Lamborghinis literally use the same electronic components (among other things) but are five times the price. Stick to an Audi.
>hey, is that a new audi s5?
>nope, it's a lamborghini
2004, bought with 56,000 had to drive 300 miles to get it home. Sitting at under 58k right now.
and the weekend toy coming together
this on nice days maybe one weekend a month
and then this every day
Nicely car m8. Is it your dd? Is the trunk enough for quick grocery pursaches?
I want to buy a S2k and dd that bad boy. Maybe also install invidia exhaust because sometimes I like to do edgy stuff.
Nice, I picked mine up 6 years ago with like 14k miles. Drove her from FL to NY and back the first weekend to look at a university to transfer to and took the pic when i got home
I'm sitting at like 104k now
oh, and mines an 04 also. 04-05 AP2 master race. Don't let the idiot ap1 "purists" get to you.
The ap2 is the faster car, there is no doubt. The softer suspension makes it handle better, and the engine changes are extremely minimal, what makes it faster in a straight line is the transmission gearing changes.
The AP2 isnt exclusively the 2.2 litre motor right?
Here in europe they didnt exist. At least I cant find any AP2 with 2.2 liters or that 8200 redline motor or whatever it was lowered to.
Or am I confusing something
It is indeed my daily. Actually has decent trunk space considering its a tiny car. Comes with a spare and jack by default. Only thing I don't like is driving with the top up. Visibility is a lot worse, more of an excuse to leave it down.
>cracked windsheild 3 years ago
>replaced, didn't pay attention and insurance gives non-honda one
>travel for work, car sits outside in FL sun
>come home, rear view mirror fell off windshield after 3 years
Put on sunglasses, I'm Ray Charles bitch, I >can't see shit.
Don't worry most faggots that talk shit on them can't drive and none of them have been to a track day in their life and they think drag racing on highways somehow counts as driving lol. I'v had all sorts or cars and I'v got an MX5 atm best fun out of all of them I'ts better to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow.
Looks like it rides like a lumber wagon.
182hp (now tuned on 201hp) and 1080kg of mass.
2006 G35, new daily, pic related.
1998 Jeep XJ- Daily for 10 years, now used for towing/hauling.
1977 Yamaha XS750, cafe modified (done before it was "hipster/cool" to retro cafe bikes)
Just got this the beginning of april, 2008 but it's mint as fuck. my last car was a 1983 lincoln towncar so this is definitely an upgrade
The roll center of a car is the point where all the roll forces go through and changing the angles of control arms will alter this point and when you lower your car too much you will loose your geometry especially when most people lower it that far without adjusting the control arm angles to regain that geometry.
Infact if you lower it too far you can end up with more roll if you change the angle of the control arms too much.
Hmm interesting. That would be really good information if I was tracking the car or something but it's a daily. Just need it to get from a to b and I like the look of lowered cars so yea.
This car is an acceptable substitute for the one in pic related.
It's the kind of car that normal people wont appreciate all that much, but enthusiasts will smile at. 95 dB stock exhaust says I'm louder than 5.0 mustangs, if thats a way to prove "manliness"
cant complain - 204ps/500nm - but I have to get some new rims soon
Agreed a good chassis and a good road is far more fun than outright horsepower , to be honest I'm bored with horse power you get to the point where it's not fun anymore and you only care about the actual driving S2K is a brilliant chassis .
Peu fucking geot 106
Hate this piece of shit but Im too lazy to get something more fresh. I use our golf 7 2.0 tdi if I have to look cooler on weekends. Will save for something good, hell I'm even leaning on S2000
Honestly, it surprised the hell out of me.
First turbo car I've ever owned.
I know it's very respectable in the engine department and it's NA that throttle response mmm. I wasn't saying it was slow I'm just saying some people only think about power and I've gotten to the point where everything feels slow so I'm not fussed any more what power it has aslong as it's a fun car and believe me I love the S2K.
I don't get the deal with Subaru how are they anything but river cars id rather drive a m3 or m2 even a m5 way over getting a shitty wrx or sti. what's the appeal of a 4 banger. A mean the cheaply looking sides and numbers and the cheap looking spoiler.
2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5, 66k miles
I've owned it for about a year and a half now. Damn, I love this car.
Not mine but same kind. Mine has MS3 rims tho.
Buyer was asking 16k. Got for 14k with 56,500 miles. Car has a couple small dents and a scrape on front bumper. Otherwise it was obviously taken care of. Had a look at it under a lift before I bought it. Amazing condition for being 12 years old. It's summer, so thats one reason they are priced high. Also, they are rising in value.
True, I do get smiles from people on the streets and honks of appreciation.
You're dumb because you missed dubs
You're also dumb because thats a ~10k car
Nice. I got a few friends that went into trucking. It looks good right now, but I wonder what the self-driving autos are gonna do to the business.
I hate these self-driving cars. Only tech in a vehicle I want is an A/C and a good stereo.
picked it up on thursday. love it so far, will probably be getting it remapped soon
Why tho? Your not justifying what is wrong about driving a car that is slammed?
You saying he is a faggot is just your opinion
Which is worthless tbb your just looking for attention
Everything else in this thread is stock as fuck
When did stock become cool?
Yeah, I'm currently in fire academy which has always been my dream job. Things are going well. But I figure if somehow, everything went to shit, I'd probably go learn how to drive trucks. Decent money and I like travel.
My 1998 Subaru Impreza gt.
25th year anniversary edition bought it recently and imported it.
Here is for al the haters. I want my red WRX I just posted to look like this.
Because stance fags are retards they rev the crap out of there car everywhere they go and make there car look like some piece of shit from pimp my ride and then the rest of the general public thinks all car people are like these idiots.
ive always had an itch to mod my car.
been a vw golf owner since mk4 (skipped 7 and got the merc instead) and always thought about getting bags but opted for just lowering springs instead because i could never justify the cost on them. but this car is on another level in comparison so i might.
definitely remap first though, the gear ratios could definitely be tuned. i end up using paddle shift in sport mode when i feel like actually driving
Some engines like to be revved, and if your car sounds nice then you'll find you want to do it. And pimp my ride make cars into utter shit I'd say we live in a good age for car modding not many cheesy bodykits around the occasional failed rat or JDM fad but that's about it
>mfw I don't have a car atm because I'm too poor to afford one
Ok, I can understand people slamming Audi and BMW 4 doors. Those cars are from cruising anyways.
But why take away the ground clearance and handling performance from what is supposed to be a rally car?
Volvo S40 2.4i. It's not a t5 but try finding an american S40 with less then 90k miles on it
They "rev" everywhere? Look I know you don't like ricers but man you sound like you don't know what your talking about.
They look like shit?
Again, your opinion.
You should understand there are people with different taste and styles. Not everyone enjoys the cookie cutter look that most people have with their cars.
It's a expression of yourself. If you like to be like everyone else that's your own thing. These people do not like that.
Thanks, I was telling my buddy the other day that one of the nicest compliments I have received about the car is when I post it here and people think I'm pretending it's mine.
I love Japanese cars but I hate people that make us look bad and I'm sick of dealing with cops because of a bad public image given to us by retards. I do my driving away from public view and I don't make noise everywhere I go for the sake of it like those people usually do.
Real car people hate these people because they ruin our image to the public. He can do what he wants but I'm still gonna call him a stance fag.
my first truck. hard to believe it's been 15 years ago already.
Fuck, forgot to post pic.
Nice man! That ride is sweet as fuck.
I would highly suggest going with bags. It's going to last you a lot longer and you will have the comfort of being low or high at your dosgression. It's the best.
I agree 100% nobody should be driving like idiots, reving their engines or racing on public streets or highways. I think that gives the JDM car scene a bad rep. All of that has nothing to do with stance.
240bhp isnt exactly slow either. no i just think the aesthetic of a scooby is ruined without a spoiler, much live an evo.
i would never own either of those cars but i would never remove the spoiler either
2010 SS, Cam and bolt ons. Also have a 2005 RSX type s with bolt ons
Can snag a JDM one for less than 10k. Clean RX-7's are nice aesthetically, great looking cars, but they're not too expensive.
Heres mine posted 2 pics further up.
Was thinking of buying a bmw e46 but i found this impreza and bought that instead :D might get a second car.
Agreed, but it comes with an inferior power plant for that price, hahaha. Prices on clean examples that are well put together will be going up in the next few years, now is the time to buy if you haven't imho.
Ricey type s I bought off Craigslist and internally modded.
Most pictures are above 4mb so i cant post them unfortunately. Engine is fucked up right now but im getting a new one for free cause i bought it with a guarantee.
Had problems with air intake and fuel injection. Found a leak from the engine block eventually. Good thing i paid a little extra for the guarantee.
It's not the coolest thing around, but I fucking love this car.
Nothing now. No need. Live in Denmark so cars are expensive. Going to buy Tesla Model 3 when it comes out, not because I'm a hippie, I just don't want to pay the government 180% of the car value, electric cars "only" have an added tax of 30%.
