Awful/creepy looking buildings thread!
LOOK AT THIS SHIT OP, JUST FUCKING LOOK AT IT
I think that looks okay
Would you dare to get inside?
The hotbed of the American Enlightenment, the birthplace of the Revolution, a rich 400-year history of classic colonial and state architecture, and this is the fucking city hall
Birknenau (the death camp) was part of the Auschwitz complex, known as Auschwitz II, with Monowitz (the factory complex) being Auschwitz III, and the main camp (Stammlager) being Auschwitz I -work and concentration camp.
There is a great shot of the NYC Morgan Stanley on Yahoo that made it look so ominous but I haven't been able to find it since.
This is Danvers State hospital. Used to be an insane asylum. Now converted into apartments.
You should see inside pics when it was abandoned. There are multiple underground tunnels too.
One of the tunnels.
Looks like a nice syncretism between Modernist and Colonial architecture that won't collapse under the next fire that swirls through BAHSTAHN.
Tbh, you're just being a piece of shit.
thats a pretty nice building, if I may say so myself
I want to set a fire in the inner parts of that just to see what happens.
This house is in my town.
360 South Crest Road in Chattanooga. On Missionary Ridge.
Entire area is a former battleground and this house was there during the Battle of Missionary Ridge.
The entire road is original except for pavement and there are monuments and plaques that show different war leaders and other info about the war all throughout the area.
At night it's spooky. It's on a Mountain and sometimes low hanging clouds make it look like from a horror movie.
Yeah, just read about it, the completed the demolition work in 1993 and built a nice park there.
It had an interesting history though, a tight community that formed because of the shitty living conditions and triads doing what triads do - drugs, gambling, prostitution.
local state mental hospital, i literally drive past this thing every day, it is creepy and imposing from a distance. but now has been turned into artisan shops and restaurants, but they are required to not alter any of the architecture of the place
Looks like a set from some gritty future crime movie.
The Willy Wonka plant always creeped me out.
you just know a murder has been commited in this pyramid
there was a link on /rs/ of a very high res artbook documenting that place I could link here
oh wait, moot killed /rs/ without notice or offering to offer up the code so it could go back to being its own site.
now that.. is where dreams go to die. The Dream Cemetery, man. Inside that grey silo, dead dreams reside and rot slowly away, with all the magic and hope they once conveyed and carried in young, naive people -now old and empty.
once in a while, the ghosts of those dreams stir and gaze out the tiny windows, looking longingly for their former owners, and once in a while they see you, and cry grey tears of interstellar dust.
when that happens, is when you suddenly look up startled, thinking you've forgotten something, something important, something essential to your very soul. Then the sensation dissipates, and you shake your head and move on. Feeling only the faint echo silently resounding in your hollow inside.. the cold, chilled remnants of the sigh of a dead dream.
a dream that once was yours, a dream that once was you.
Columbus' tacky ass convention center
you people just search for detroit images in google , this city was ruined by niggers and its abandoned
type "detroit abandoned" , these skyscrapers are fucking scary
Officially the ugliest building in my country and i used to live a few hundred meters from there
I go past this fucking nightmare every day on my way to work. Good thing I live on the other side of town.
Saw this thing in the distance every day while i grew up.
Checked for awesome trips bounce combo. My nigga!
was just about to post this one by reggie's
I agree. My university library is one of the most significant brutalist structures in the new world. And it's horrible.
They should build them to survive fires regularly to save cleanup costs. Just torch out the shitty leftovers after the crackheads die or go to jail, sweep and paint, job done. There's no disinfectant that good.
Detroit looks really bizarre from the air now
This clock. I keep looking at me. It keeps looking back, tick-tocking, reminding me of how my it steals my life.
The void feels so close it is terrifying.
it is a clock. the numbers represent each facet of men and women, and the cyclical nature of life and death. the 3s at the top and bottom are heaven and hell, the left side is life right now, the right side is this life in reverse. the 2s are women, the 1s and 3s on the right and left side are men.
the 2s are meant to represent the constant nature of women, and the difference between the 1s is "good" men and "bad" men ( in a sexual respect. men who want sex and men who don't).
the numbers are symbolic also for the importance of each gender in their respective lives. on the right side men are more important since they are farther from being similar to heaven and hell (1 is farther from 3 than 2), and on the left side since it is this life in reverse the men who were 1s before are now 3s and are identical to heaven and hell and 2s are instead the superior number.
In this life men are better; on the other side women are better. we balance each other out. the 1 that is being pointed to represents me and my being a "good" man because I do not want to enjoy life, but I used to be a "bad" man and I would've been pointed at the lower 1.
Whole neighbourhoods have gone back to nature. I sometimes go nosing around on Google Maps, it's scary how the place has gone bad. I guess when the auto factories closed everyone who had the means to leave just went. Those who remained included a lot of people who didn't really contribute much. So it all went to hell.
there is a depression measurment centre that keeps track of sad brain waves inside.
well done brutalism can be cool
How can a place where Barry Sanders played be so creepy now?
Asian people on their way to Wester Europe (Czech Rep., France and Poland in particular); drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs - all what you get on Alphabay!
The resident fucking doom fortress where most of my classes are.
This is the sort of architecture that counts as shit. It's taking the principal of contrasting textures and just blowing it wide out the window, and stretching it over as far as it will go. It's Dadaism in building form. It's saying, 'Hey, I think architecture is just a shitty lark and anyone who likes it is shit. Here's why it's shit.' Worst thing is, people praise it as high art, without even knowing what the fuck they're talking about. This is, literally, an edgy building. It's ugly, it's out-of-place, and it's just gross.
Most of the other architecture in here is either just experimental and sometimes wonky, or good examples of fundamentals being displayed or challenged. Then there's the abandoned buildings and freak-out shots, which are just cheating. There's a few other examples of bad architecture in this thread, sure, but they can be fixed for the most part. This one could be only fixed if you gutted it and replaced it with something oblique or with organic flow, instead of that shattered mirror effect that's been thrown willy-nilly around.
This building houses the better part of the population of the town.
Mormon temples are scary looking. Its like an ice witch lives there.
so-called "sedesowce" (pol. toilet-seat buildings)
For some reason the MI6 building reminds me of a fat man sitting in a shitty armchair.
Its a trash incinerator... with a revolving restaurant built on the fucking smoke stack! Welcome to Taipei, Taiwan.
Michigan central station in downdown detroit. Abandoned for years but since deteoit doesnt demo anything...here it sits.
Moscow 2020. After Putins death the Military fights for power with the oligarch militia. This is the begining of World War III. The end of the World as we know it. We will have to starve, fight, kill.
