I like Junkrat and Roadhogg a lot. I can enjoy Junkrat without using the nadelauncher, his trup and mine are funny enough. And Roadhogg has a funny hook which can make opponents sh!t pants or get you instaselfrekt. Like it.
Yet Lucio was my best overwatch character...before playing it. I hoped so much more from him and the level design.

He does a great job at harassing because, unlike Tracer, he can constantly and has arguably better range. He's not quite as fast and has a weaker panic button, but his Ultimate is better and he's a much better team player.
He's no Tracer, but he can perform that role well enough.

I think there are people disappointed because they don't like moba shooter (or don't know moba at all). They're more arena players or ballistic guys who don't see the appeal of the moba abilities and features on an fps insight. It's far from tf2 in the end. And one can love both, some cannot.
All in all, it's not bad, just tell yourself you wanted to like it (because marketing and art had a great advert campaign), but it's not for you. And having to pass on this creative product is sad and frustrating I understand.
Yet I wouldn't say "not that good". It's a bet. Introducing arena moba shooter to casual and competitiv market is quite a challenge (even more for blizzard). It will have tons of clone coming no doubt. And they might be great.
I personnally think Overwatch has no game modes identity and they should fix it fast.

If you're attacking a point, a quick kill can be more valuable than sustained dmg.
If you're defending, then yeah, mccree isn't the best choice.

You guys have to go 6 man Premade and all go the same hero + Lucio for AoE Speedup / Heals.
It's ridiculous. Our best one yet was 5x Pharah and me as Lucio. (Lucio & Roadhog are my Mains, following Widowmaker for going defense in the Temple of Anubis for example)

She takes some getting used to. To be effective, you're dependent on timing counters. The more you block, the higher your damage boost gets up to about 88%. (200 damage will get you +50%) The boost drains quickly, though.
The primary fire isn't much use without the damage boost, but the secondary fire (lobbed explosive) is good for spamming at up to mid range.
The ultimate is perhaps the most obscene one in the game. It will suck an entire enemy team in to one point with no chance of escape for a very long time. Time it with the ultimates of others, or even just a Bastion and they're fucking done. Effortlessly.
Genji needs a hard core nerf 4 of us were holed up near a dug in bastion and gengji managed to rush in and kill 2 of us by reflecting bastions bullets onto us and him before using she dash to fininish everyone off.

Yeah, that's the only thing about her I hate. When im up against a good Zarya, I'm fuckin dead kiddo. Even tracer can't get out of the ult, unless her E is availabe. She can't shift-dash out, even with all 3. Winston can't shift jump out. And Zarya's ult activates pretty quickly after she throws it, plus her vocal queue isn't very recognizable like hanzos "KEEEABUUADABAHA" or mccrees "HIIIIIGH NOOOOON"

Genji has way, way too much mobility. Double jump and wall climbing + a dash which resets on kill. Most likely should remove dash reset
Widowmaker has 0 risk. She has more bullets than 76 does and can fire off 10 sniper shots before reloading. Needs to have 20 shots of ammo and use 5 per sniper shot or something. Her poison mine also shouldnt give a warning if its destroyed

Eight second cooldown, two second duration. An unlimited number of projectiles hitting you from the front are deflecting towards your crosshair with the same accuracy as they came in with.
Bastion in his immobile form puts out an approximate shitfuckton of damage per second with his high accuracy, high fire rate, very large magazine Gatling gun. You can start and stop firing without wind up.
Right now I use D.VA and Mercy, they're good. I still need to try out the other characters though.

I was stuck only using my main, until I discovered what the Weekly Brawl button does. This week, every time you spawn, you get assigned a random hero that you're stuck with until you die. Since everyone else is playing characters they aren't familiar with, it's a good way to practice the others.
Don't take losing too personally. The winner is generally the first team to randomly roll a non-shitty team, or teams with players who rolled their main and go on kill streaks.

My friend and I usually team up on games like this, we either tank&heal or tank&fast usually. I'm a better tank than him and he's a better hit-and-run than me, but we switch roles pretty often.
When we spawn on opposite teams we generally avoid each other because he can't kill me and I can't catch him.
I usually come out on top if he doesn't catch me alone while he isn't.

Winston is a mobile tank, which is unusual. Most people don't get it and just run up to a Roadhog and start pissing on it with primary fire.
Next time you play him, hunt squishy targets, cause chaos, then GTFO. (also, if you weren't aware, the tesla gun has a cone area effect, potentially hitting more than one target, and it bypasses shields and barriers)

Should have staggered the tanks, they have overlapping fields of fire but no cover and they're rooted so they can't even turn, plus the healer had no cover after the stationary defenses were bypassed. Staggered bastions would mean the back covers the front and the healer has something to hide behind, preferably staying in the middle for dat cover fire.

The players weren't very skilled judging from their responses, and their setup with bullshit for a large number of reason. Healer could have bolted by turning 90 degrees right and pressing Shift.
Despite appearances, Bastion isn't a tank. He can be taken down quickly if he can't shoot at you, and he has a critical spot at his back for double damage. They can turn 360 degrees as fast as you can turn your mouse, and you can press Shift to switch to walking robot mode in less than a second to re-position.

You can't stop Reinhart with any character at mid range directly in front of him, with one exception. You can't rush a Bastion with any character directly in front of him. (not accounting for ultimates) Get your team mates to deal with them in other ways, or switch heroes.

There is seriously no one that competes with a Bastion other than Rein's shield. I have gone entire games with 19k/d no deaths. Not because 'I'm good', but because he's easy mode. I literally just sit, setup shop, and blast away.

With a good babysitter to cover his weaknesses this seems like a strong class, but is only medium tier solo because of the exploitable weaknesses and other character's counters, like the pink hair'd dyke with the black hole ultimate, or genji.

I like Bastion. I can envision a speedster drawing enemies into his fire and chasing the ones that run one at a time. If friendly fire is off, just walk in between him and genji if he's too stupid to stop shooting, especially with a tank.

Seriously though, there isn't incentive to play other characters. The ice girl is slow, her ice barrier gets blasted faster than Reins mobile shield (wtf?), and by the time it recharges you've been squished. Her gun only works on enemies pressing you. It's poor for attacking.

I find Lucios best at KOH or Capture Points. Speed boist the team there. Then switch to heals and stay. Take pot shots when you can. Of youre lucky you can actually rack up a really high kill streak. His aura heal makes him a good team camper i guess.

He can heal himself quickly after conflicts, and the only way someone can sneak you is if you aren't paying attention, the maps are small and have impassable choke points.

Okay, I'll share my Pharah anti-Bastion technique: Corner Spamming. Peek around the corner, fire a rocket directly at a Bastion's position, then duck back into cover immediately. Do it two or three more times, and even if the Bastion is right on you, he won't have completely killed you. Even if he does, the rockets are already off (if you fucked up the peeking) then it'll be a trade kill at least.
Ones the rockets are in the air, the Bastion doesn't have enough time to realize the problem and transform.
