Fucking FLAWLESS games thread.
>New faggots with faggy games will be called out on sight
eh, not exactly flawless but it was like star wars' AoE
Best street racer of all time, I don't give a FUCK about what you NFS-loving faggots think
One of the first games I ever played, and still one of the best
MUTHAFUCKIN CADILLACS AND MUTHAFUCKIN DINOSAURS MUTHAFUCKA
Anything battletech, except Mech Warrior Online, that game is fucking garbage
>Sees "best games thread"
>Wants to post
>realizes that unless game is 10 years or older people will hate on it
>mfw threads like these are more about nostalgiafagging than recognizing actual game quality.
fusion was the beginning of the end for metroid. too much talking, too much "story", areas were too isolated from one another, music was meh. Only good part about it was the improved control scheme, which also went to shit when they basically remade this in 3D with Other M.
The first time I beat it I couldn't figure out how to space jump out of the pit you fight it in so i turned the game off because I thought it glitched. Next time I tried again and realized there was no glitch. I was mortified.
Well shit, i didnt know that existed. Brb in about 5 years.
>found the faggot
also, it isnt just nostalgiafagging, its just most new games seem to be just about "hurr durr look how amazing the graphs look"
I'll fight anyone who disagrees.
But anything after Wrath of the Lich King is flawed.
Fuck you niggers, only game I've played for two years. Fucking perfection.
Portal 1 and 2.
Every game has its flaws, and while there were a few needless, "Walk down this catwalk. Shoot a portal over there. Now walk down this catwalk." sections in Portal 2, it's overall a phenomenal game.
Portal 1 is my go-to flawless game, but the fact that it was, what 4-6 hours long without much room for error really helps.
>genuinely love Undertale
>the music's great, the characters are funny and unique, the battle mechanics are refreshing in a Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga kinda way where you don't just stand still and let the enemy attack you, the minor shit you do that change the game, it's just all fucking fantastic
>mfw tumblr got a hold of it and torn it to shit
A great game fucking ruined by its autistic fanbase. This must be what being a Sonic fan feels like.
As much as the 1st has a permanent place in my heart, I enjoyed the second one more.
yeah dude, im torn between this & >>682971470
they're both so god damn good, but LTTP has way more complex and the fact you turn into a pink bunny rabbit when u first go into the dark world? classic.
i wonder how that link between worlds game compares.
Only flaw ive found in this game is how you can run away from enemies until theyre offscreen and go back and see if theyre gone or not. Guess its not really a flaw, just cheating the rng I guess
All good choices.
Literally the only CoD that matters.
>definitely the best Zelda game
Wind Waker is a very VERY close second, like almost tied for first, to be honest, shaking my head, family.
Like WW is what I'll recommend to get a friend into the series, but OoT is what I'll play and think, "Oh yea, so that's why i fucking love this series."
At the release of Cataclysm, the cap was raised to 80.
In Wrath of the Lich King, it was 60.
Currently, the cap is at 100, and the next expansion will bring it to 110.
Also, at the release of Warlords of Draenor (2014), through 1 to 85, the game literally holds your hand. XP gain was increased dramatically.
My favorite racing game; only one I ever aced completely like a cuck with assburgers.
I was devastated when they didn't release the arcade booth in the states. I was ready to dominate.
14 years and its only gotten better
GTA: Online before the PC port and everyone started modding and ruin the spirit of it.
metroids garbage. you're forced to play as a chick. LOL games really are just imagination
I love me some Earthbound, but the biggest issue I have is the first 6 or so hours are extremely slow. You fight the same few enemies, trudge around the same 3 cities, it's enough to turn most people off of it.
Mother 3 is superior.
a compelling storyline
Yeah mate, both great games. I like ALttP's overworld and lack of dungeon order but I prefer LA's tone, characters, art direction and dungeons.
A Link Between Worlds was very good, but I found the dungeons to be a bit short and easy. Games nowadays are more easier though.
This game anyone? true didnt release in the US the first time for got an english rerelease on ps1
>not having minish cap or oracle of seasons on there
My biggest problem with TP IS it kinda lost the playful spirit of previous Zelda titles.
It was all a little too realistic for a series that's so lofty and whimsical.
>ALBW nowhere on the list
>Zelda 2 even on the list at all
Ah, so that's what it's like to have shit taste. Interesting.
My favourite game. I'd say best in the series: the first game that got everything right.
(Getting off your board is a good feature)
hell yes. I don't own this anymore, but I have Rampage 2 on N64. Just this past summer I sat down and beat the game in one sitting....maybe four hours? Fucking tedious in the last hours though.
I feel ya.
At this point after, what, a decade since Ep. 2? Valve could release HL3 bundled with a blowjob robot that converts cum into solid gold and people would still complain.
Play ALBW, it's easily up there with ALTTP. Probably even better once you loosen up your nostalgia goggles.
And yea, Zelda 2 has its high points, but I feel like the cons heavily outweigh the pros.
Can't post images, but here's my list:
>Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
>Final Fantasy V, VI, VII, IX
>Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
>Super Smash Brothers Melee
>Sam & Max Hit the Road
>Zelda: Majora's Mask
>Batman Arkham Series
(Not without its flaws, but shit, those games get so many things right, and it's just goddamn fun to run around as Batman beating the shit out of people)
>GTA Vice City & GTA V
(By no means flawless, but if you ever get a chance to play far enough to make it to the half levels, it's basically muscle memory. It's like a flaw in the fucking matrix, and suddenly, you can exploit it).
Yes, PS1 version sucked dick. Long ass loading times, WORSE graphics, and shitty frame rate. The only thing better is longer songs because of disc memory.
I own THPS2 on every platform it came out on. Dreamcast is by FAR the best version, actually.
You turn into a wolf and play in wolf form thats totally original cmon
Terranigma and IoG are so fucking good, i still play them on emulator
This reminds me of those threads that used to pop up here from time to time about nerfing/buffing/patching parts of life.
>the Japanese class has recieved a need on its intelligence, lowering it 1.6%
Christ those threads were gnarly.
Tell me why you prefer Majora's Mask.
Don't get me wrong, I fucking love it, I have Majora's Mask tattooed on my fucking chest for Christ's sake, but I've always accepted that OoT was clearly superior.
I want your opinion.
I love OoT, but MM is just so WEIRD. It's different than literally any other Zelda game. When I look back through my memory at all the games I've played, that one just stands out stronger to me than the others just because it's so different.
would pick gold but just because i prefer Ho-oh over lugia
Gen 3 was better.
But 2 is definitely second best.
For me it's
>Gen 5 and 6
>accidentally lighting the wrong end of a cigarette
>stepping on someone's spit while barefoot
>locking your keys along with the spares in your car
No Pokemon game has topped this one (except for the remake, but that's not original) and I won't pick one up until they include two regions, sixteen gyms and two champions to fight again. Pokemon games are shit now.
>gen 3 being anywhere close to best
>WOAH greentext and a picture of someone laughing, that'll show him.
No, dude, explain to me what you don't like about it.
Don't know if too many people know about this one but it was my favorite growing up.
Still have my copy
naughty dog has always been top notch, but this is still easily their funnest and most replayable game.
I placed 5 and 6 At the same tier because Christ help me I can't remember a fucking thing about them.
I beat them.
I enjoyed them.
I played the living fuck outta them.
But when I was making that list I had to look up how many generations there were.
>gen 1 at the top
Loosen those goggles, buddy, Red and Blue were a fucking chore at times.
Can't believe noone has mentioned this yet
>Race07 and its many addons
That's the point. It's Ocarina with all the features they couldn't have in the 90's. Are you really complaining about the fact that they perfected what was already the greatest game of all time to begin with (except story-wise)?
I can't remember a thing about the platformers, but CTR is easily my go-to pick up and play game.
Like I could be passing a fucking kidney stone, but if someone invited me to play CTR, I would have that controller in my hand in seconds.
Yes, because it didn't PERFECT it. For instance, the difficulty and general dungeon design of OoT was far superior, as well as the pacing. TP is good, and if you really forced me to I might have to say it's technically the "better" game, but it lacks the originality and personality that makes Ocarina a beloved classic.
Dis <3 from before Enix got eated
>someone else has played E.V.O. Search for Eden
I CAN'T FUCKING TELL YOU HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME.
THAT GAME WAS FUCKING AMAZING AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT.
Oh God anon if I knew where you were I'd suck your dick.
I have a PS4, does anyone know if there's a way to get it on PSN or something?
I'm tired of breaking out and dusting off my PS1 just to play it and emulating it just isn't the same.
I'm right there with you. Fusion took the metroid formula and beat it into this modern, easy to chew, pulpy mess that's destroying what I loved about video games growing up. Fusion is metroid with all difficulty and room for growth and error stripped away. Sequence breaking is nigh impossible, and even when it is you're left in a dead end game so it's worthless. Every metroid game since this has been a disappointment. I'll still play them because I love the franchise and I do enjoy the core of the gameplay, but none have the same charm that super and zero mission had.
That game not only nostalgiafucks me hard every time i see it, but it was also probably THE best game based around player customization and growth. It had just the right amount of grinding and parts to choose from, and so many different playstyles, and even tons of secret endings. Enix knew what the fuck was up! Way ahead of their time
You are all faggots.
Doom is best
>originals are still great
>mod community is still strong
>new mods and content keep game fresh after 20+ years
>literally endless maps in which to rape, beat, kill, and destroy hell spawn.
>id tech 2 engine still robust and intuitive.
Prove me wrong
>protip: You can't.
Rip and tear.
This was absolutely my favorite game, I know that leveling was easy but I think it had the best story, I cried when Rinoa left.
Everything you just said is fucking gospel.
I'm a sucker for games with a good upgrading mechanic and E.V.O. hit that like a fucking train.
It's baffling that in the 20 years since its release Its never had a sequel or rerelease or remaster or spiritual sequel or anything.
Everything after this expansion (except ulduar patch in wrath) was trash
one of my favs from the golden era of psx squaresoft rpgs. sure they didn't fucking spoon feed you where to go to advance in the storylines (a plus in my book, fable pretty much killed this with the follow the golden trail bullshit) but every thing else was top notch, epic battle system with wonderful techs and combos. wide variety of character class that are unique from one another, intriguing albeit short stories (well there are seven of them so can't expect too much from one little cd) and enough cross over between them to make discoveries in one apply to the others. a magnificent game from an epic era that will never come again. seriously compare to the square/enix heyday of psx almost everything now is absolute shit, prettier yes, but still shit.
dude blizzard hasn't made anything good since wc3. activision bought them and since they've just made money off shittier versions of their old gems, fuck blizzard i hope they die.
call me out fags but this is the first video game
i've played and i still fucking love it
what the hell is everyone on in this thread? where is the bg2 love?
This damn game had me doing so many play throughs because I loved I so much
Great game but it is far from perfect. Think of the rerolling for stats at the beginning. The game pretty much makes you sit there for 30 minutes waiting for a better roll and adding the numbers up in your head. That and sacrificing characters to save others and the general weakness of mages make it less than perfect.
worst game I've ever completed, and I'm convinced I'm the only one
No game is without its flaws.
I have my own opinions, but I'm not such an idiot as to tell other people a game is perfect.
It's in the same boat with knowledge, there's always more to learn and keep improving apon for players and developers.
That being said, Super Metroid and Meta Gear Solid 3 are probably the best games out there to date.
i reallly did try to love this game, but eventually had to settle on like. something about d&d style game on comp just piss me off. something to do with swinging swords forever and finally getting a hit also the whole memorization spell system was reallly fucking retarded (only ever used sorcerer cause of this). story and atmosphere was epic as fuck don't get me wrong. but if i wanna play d&d i can break out the books and dice and use my imagination. if im playing a video game i kinda want something less extremely clunky that was actually designed for the computer medium and not a port from paper and dice.
You could stack fireballs and nuke groups or summon demons and cast protection from evil. But the only reason my group ever needed to sleep was because of my mages and the cause of a lot of my deaths was a mage accidently killling them or running out of bullets and leroy jenkinsing it with a +1 dagger.
>I'm bad at the game and blame the mechanics
