What's your personal favorite vidya of all time /b?
it was civ1 but with actual combat
and heros with magic item
and hobbit slingers were OP
I know its fairly recent, but looking back i cant think of any game i enjoyed more.
Kek, I was watching gameplay footage of that last night.
Speaking of nights.
Where my star wars /b/ros at?
Yeeah thats right.
Best voice acting in a game ive played so far IMO
closest thing to car wars which i was playing pen and paper at the time
My niga !
4 me I'd say kotor
>take objectively the greatest game of all time
>add features that weren't possible when that game came out
>add a werewolf
Cannot believe it's almost 10 years old now and already has a remaster. My balls dropped while playing this game and then they were immediately blown off.
I have been playing vidya since the 80s so it is way too difficult to pick one so in no particular order
Resident evil 2
The withcer 3
Dragon age origin
Shadow run (snes)
I spent so many hours in the early 2000s sitting in my moms back room playing this game when I was a teenager. I fucked up a whole load of summer exams for this game and every minute was worth it. I could only run the game 40fps at best but every moment was magical and I wish I could re live it for the first time again.
Tis one of the best and most Original games.
this is one of my favorite games as well, great colors and atmosphere, albeit the gameplay can be repetitive, i feel compelled to continue playing because of how FUCKING COZY IT IS ON MY DICK
In no specific order
>shadow of the colossus
>crash bandicoot 1-3 & ctr
>ddr extreme 2
>super monkey ball deluxe
>skate 1 & 2
>tony hawks, thug & 4
>ratchet and clank
>half life 2
fuuuuck my man.
Literally starting another play through after years of playing it.
It is literally Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu's masterpiece and legacy.
After that its all retarded teenagers with giant swords flipping around in the air.
In this one, its a true fantasy in a far off medieval world.
Pic related, Dr. Tots study in Treno
I've played through several times, in both the original and Golden. Adachi did nothing wrong. Accomplice ending is best ending.
Me too man,
I think off all the nights i spent, up late, smoking some weed and going on adventures with Link and Midna...
where has the time gone...
And now they have the HD version out, and i dont have a fucking WII U.
Agreed. Loved every min. of it.
But it's still tied with Metroid Fusion.
>I've got the finest goods and lowest prices in all Cirodiil.
>You've made a good bit of gold.
>I wouldn't make that deal for just anyone.
>That's more than I'd usually pay.
>That's a fair bargain.
>You've made a good bit of gold.
"They're waiting for you Gordon, in the test chamber."
I only played the original and really liked it and this is coming from a person who hates Jrpgs. its also a surprisingly comfy game and I can pretty much play the game with one hand and carry my drink in the other.
did any of you fags play that masterpiece of a game ?
I don't have a #1 personal favorite, it's hard to rate them
Fallout 2 and New Vegas
Supreme commander forged alliance
Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl
Crusader Kings 2
Anyone ever play the exile series?
This was my childhood.
They don't make UIs like that any more
The concept and combat are solid, but if it weren't for mods the game would be tedious.
4D sports boxing is revolutionary imo. It's unbelievable good for its time.
Regardless of the ending, this series is probably my favourite of all time. The initial meeting with sovereign is one of the best points in the first game
Skate 3 felt so detatched.
>everything was skateable
>thus finding new spots wasnt as fun
>environment was bland and lacked the grit that the old games had
>environments separated by teleporting
>no actual games of skate?
>no local multiplayer??
Dont get me wrong, i played the shit out of skate 3 but the failures on those other levels really didnt sit well with me.
The BG games are pure gold, everything is so fucking good, i can't think of any other games who made me have such a good time.
The story, the fights, the characters you recruit, the fucking UI.
BGII >>> need to reinstall!, didn't find throne of bhaal as fun as shadows of amn
It sharpens me up for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
basically Humongous Entertainment was my childhood
not as fun but it's nice checking out all the ending possibilities, also get a few mods to increase difficulty in fights and the game becomes actually challenging.
But i agree, best time i had on the BG games was Shadows of amn, there's just so much to do, all those juicy quests and magical items.
What was your fav setup ? i loved going half elf berserker 2 handed weapons spec, minsc, korgan, viconia, jan, then it was either edwyn or Aerie.
The fucking brutal frontline with double priest and spellcaster. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Almost every fight, no matter how easy, was a fight to the death because of how broken the game was.
I really enjoyed that about the series though.
Then, the fight finishes, you save, open character editor and revive/heal everyone, on to the next fight!
The worlds were so damn immersive too, never got tired of exploring some new dungeon or quiet corner of the continent, and there was always something there.
The creator re-man them as a series called Avernum, but that lost all it's character I think.
tl;dr awsum gaem
I loved boo so minsc had to stay. i was usually a sorcerer, i didnt want edwin cuz he's evil . viconia for sure, i prefered keldorn over korgan, (tried to stay at a high reputation) aerie and aerie and nalia. I loved creating custom parties and mixing and matching different comps
Champions of Krynn on Amiga is probably one of the best i've played
polish tester for blood and wine, I can say it took about 32 hours to complete. cd captured geralts last adventure perfectly, a specific higher vampire friend is making a comeback
I know it's kinda lame, but I've invested so much time into this.
tried every kind of setup in this game, can say having minsc, korgan, viconia in the same group is the bomb.
Korgan is a bit bitchy if you have high rep, so is viconia, they just leave if your rep is too high for too long.
Also viconia can get in a fight to the death with keldorn or valygar corthala.
there's something similar who happens when you romance aerie and have that faggot bard haer'dalis in your group, nigga says he loves her and won't give her up to you, worst thing in that is : he initiates a dialogue with you at some point and says the both of you will fight over her, you can back out, fight him, or tell him to leave the group with aerie.
If you win and hurt haer'dalis aerie will take his side and run away with him if you don't convince her to stay in group.
All that character interaction, i love it.
If the Pens win the Cup...will this be looked at as the "Chicago/LA/Pittsburgh era?
If the Penguins are to win the Cup, then 7 of the last 8 Cups will have been won by 3 teams.
2009 - Pittsburgh
2010 - Chicago
2011 - Boston
2012 - LA
2013 - Chicago
2014 - LA
2015 - Chicago
2016 - Pittsburgh
The Pens also made the finals in 2008. I definitely see the argument against putting the Penguins in this group, because their wins were so spread out, but that would be a very dominant trio in the 8-year span. They also made the playoffs every single year in this stretch, and had some very strong teams, despite some disappointing playoff runs.
(sorry for jinx thread, btw)
Everyones heard of it, it just wasn't very good, it is fun for like, the first 5 minutes, but then you have already done everything
The game would be better if there was some military aspect, monuments (some major building to strive toward), decorations, just anything other than farms, houses, fishing piers and trading posts
>pick up a child out of pity
>realize you don't know how to parent
>name him Regret
Ratchet and clank (old games and reimagined)
Why hasn't anyone mention this yet.
Spent hundreds of hours playing Morrowind, Oblivion, the Total War series, and Battlefield 3, respectively.
Morrowind was plenty awesome but I was a bit too young to fully appreciate it till later. But Oblivion came out when I was 13. I had pre ordered whatever deluxe edition came with the metal septim and picked it up immediately, days before my birthday. I had never been so immersed in a game before, just enjoying every magical moment I spent as a part of that world.
BF: Bad Company 2 was a game changer for me as well. I'd played a lot of COD games on campaign mode but shied away from online play because I'd get killed so much. But I remember the first time I played BC2 with headphones on and could tell the distance and direction of sounds and knew I had found something special. Getting killed all the time was still enjoyable enough for me to put some effort into getting better. Next thing I knew, I had pre ordered BF3, then ended up playing hundreds of hours of Conquest on Operation Metro.
Fuck man, embarrassed to say it, but this was played on a 360... This was one of the few conquest maps that were decent to play 12v12. And still you had niggers sneaking by objective B to hide out at your "home" base and make you come look for them.
PC master race m8!
Sad thing is that BF3 had such amazing maps in conquest (BC2 had far better rush maps) - all the armoured warfare maps, grand bazaar, seine crossing, caspian border, firestorm...
Yes, it is grindy.
But it has a special place in my heart.
Also, the lore made me get into writing and that was the best shit I have ever done in my life.
Yeah, I was digging grand bazaar and seine crossing a lot too. I'd play team deathmatch when I was feeling impatient. Never really got to enjoy those huge vehicle based maps that set the series apart from COD for so many people. Just sucks when you have all the vehicles flying around but only like 3 infantry dudes scattered around capturing objectives.
Always wanted to buy/build a PC, but ended up feeling it was more important to buy a motorcycle, motorcycle gear, musical equipment, car mods, etc... 360 is my latest equipment. Maybe one day
Halo 2 multiplayer. We'll never see random strangers cooperate like that again, trolling has taken too strong a hold.
>Play a few random games to build up recent players
>Join random custom games
>Ask what's going on
>People explain the rules of whatever game they're doing
>Everybody follows the rules despite nothing stopping you from doing otherwise
Fable Lost chapters, just got re-invigorated to play it today!
you get to control an army of goons, instant perfect game
Came to post this. Played it on a sega cd though. What made it special was my cousin would come over and we would figure it out together. He was more like a brother. Was the best man at my wedding and shit. I wouldnt play it unless he was around so he wouldnt miss anything. Was a great summer. He has been gone for 6 years now, fucking miss him everyday. Once in awhile i will play it on the 360 just for the nostalgia.
"You fight like a dairy farmer"
I actually hate this game
>inb4 didnt give it a fair chance
>2 play throughs, one where i beat the game, overall 90 hours
It was WAY too easy, and yes i cranked up the difficulty
Graphics were absolutely impeccable though
I liked all of these games a lot but i gotta say: pic related is GOAT.
I played this fucking game ever since I went to Florida.
Id come home from school, play, eat, repeat until reach came out, i was really sad because reach wasnt as good, and everybody played it instead, so suddenly you didnt have any friends on halo 3
As if it's not hard
Also has an infinitely more complicated and better story.
I was just talking with a couple of friends last night about the golden days of XBL where everyone was nice and the shit talking was light. back when most Halo 2 game types were based on a honor system
woah dude, it's like, is it a dream or is it even real?!?!?! so deep!!!!!!!!!
any other game lol
would you like me to give you a summary of the pvp as well?
r1r1r1r1r1r1 circlecirclecirclecircle triangletriangletriangle
i think they made attacks so spammy, dodging so incredibly easy, parrying much less punishable (you can do it from range wow so risky) and healing so schpeedy quick and dumb all gameplay down overall to pump newbies into the franchise so then they would buy ds3
I've beaten this game so many times! Played it so many more!
Oh yeah, I remember this very real game that totally exists.
First video game ever played. Will forever hold a special place in my heart
Idk why but I always keep coming back to playing this game.
Something about it being in Africa, having friends who you can choose to help and save.
It has an awesome atmosphere feel
>just one off
>no SMAAAAASHHHH!!! get
Pic related or Oracle of Ages/Seasons. Majora's Mask and FF7 are also up there.
Somebody already put up Jade Empire, so...
Anyone remember this gem?
yeah its good to see that no one seeems to be walking away from modding heck people are still coming out with oblivion mods
and you have to love it when a mod is made called devious butt that has a penalty to you farting while trying to speechcraft or sneak disadvantages
I spent an entire summer visiting, brought my xbox to visit
swamp cooler went out over summer
moved oth tv's in to living room
spent the enitire summer, tv side by side playing my game while brother played his
hundreds of hours.
Get ready for the greatest story ever told!
