Looks funny. 4 of the best comedians in our era, all in the same film. Go back and watch the originals, Ramis and the black guy brought nothing, but here you get 4 for 4. No point making a remake if you aren't gonna improve on the original, and I'd say they hit this one out of the park.

Is anyone familiar with the term "Exploitation Media"? It's a term used for media which have no redeeming qualities, except for appealing to a very specific demographic with very specific interests which usually feels underrepresented by other media.

This is an example of a rather new genre of exploitation movies: Feministploitation. Movies which try too hard to prove that women can do everything men can do and better, but while being busy with that they forget to actually tell a proper story which appeals to a wider audience.

They'll easily recoup the $100 million that was spunked up against the wall during production.
I might have interest in seeing a Ghostbusters movie for old times sake, especially if Ramis wrote it.
But this is just a bunch of cunts, being cunts because they are cunts. It is more horrific than funny and I have no interest in seeing a film that has those characteristics, it's that simple.
Even if it would turn out decent, it's deemed to be a failure. You can't make a remake of a cult classic like Ghostbusters without getting compared to it, and you are going to lose that comparison, no matter what.
The whole concept of "four nerdy women hunting ghosts for money" would work far better when they would not try to tie it in with the original Ghostbusters and would just make it an unrelated movie. The franchise name will weight it down and prevent it from properly exploring the concept in its own way.
