Overrated vidya thread
Pic motherfucking related
Not the same person but those all seem like pretty well liked games to me
Skyrim was a little overrated, it was still good, but could of been better
This piece of shit!
No I dont play GTA, but GTA V was terrible overhyped. And it is a good Game, but GTA IV did many things better than GTA V. But all kids mean GTA IV is shit because u cant do (insert boring minigame or virtual freetime simulation).
this this this
thought the story was better for how absurd the games are. Really liked the ending. Idgaf bout multiplayer, but I actually had a real fun time with the gameplay. I can see how/why people would say it's tedious but idk mang I just love strangling dudes till they call me dad
What do you think? In my opinion Sonic is overrated as fuck. A shitty copy of Mario.
Grow up! you're obviously too young to appreciate the technical genius of the game as well as the ground breaking story telling and fantastic music. Now 'witcher 3', that's over-rated,shite story, the whole game is one big fetch quest and the dialogue is relentless in it's ability to bore the shit out of you.Great graphics, shit game.
Over rated? Eh, OK, I guess. Still good though.
Never played a single GTA game, never will.
I like MGS games, but this one.. Meh. I'll replay 4 again before I replay 5.
>at least it's bit metal gear rising
I actually like BL2 though. Not the first, or TPS. But I like 2.
What I consider over rated?
>WoW/basically any MMO these days
>Any and all FPS that cost $60+ dollars and are only bought for the multiplayer.
Why buy Call of Halofield 3 if 1 and 2 were the same thing?
Aka let's make a huge fucking ass sandbox world with a non linear story line, no sense of direction, super grindy growth systems, slow and lumbering battle mechanics, and hope people buy the 14 DLCs we release a week later
Christ you sound like an insufferable person
I played it. If you don't go for help about lore or builds on YouTube or gaming forums and playing it completely on your own, It's boring as hell.
That is the actual flaw of the game. I don't know why people don't see it
On TES note, Morrowind. You can say it was great at the time, but no fuckin way it beats Oblivion/Skyrim. Oblivion aged way better and so will Skyrims
To which game? I mentions several of them.
I assume you mean ff7. That's why I said just good. It isn't the best game ever, never was. Was good, has potential in the remake. Just hope they don't totally bork it and kill whatever legacy that game has left.
Oh I am. I am.
Let me guess, it was too long and hard for you too follow?
Shit go play an FPS, I'm sure you love those seeing as how their all the fucking same with just different graphics and creators.
hurr hurr you dont appreciate gaymes cuz you dont wanna deal with shit stuff to get through some weeb story
I think its one of those nostalgia things. I remember playing it when it first came out and having a pretty good time with it. Never got all the hype surrounding it though, still don't.
This. Edgy sperglords the game.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Also.
Same goes for Zelda: OoT. It was great and all, but COME ON; people act like it's still the pinnacle of gaming.
"Somebody doesn't like what I like and I don't like what anybody else likes. Hurr durr my opinions equal facts."
Kill yourself, you're particular brand of autism is especially detrimental to the world around you.
Calm down girliegamer.
I forgot a few things:
- Storytelling mostly over the recordings, cause 2k studio is to lazy
- Stupid programmed enemyies
- changeable degree of difficultly
Decent shooting game, besides being bland as fuck. Overrated only slightly
Played all of their games since Fallout 2, looking back it has all been a clunky shitty timekiller. Better than WoW I guess
Adding TF2 to this list
Hopefully this doesn't give anyone a heart attack
Wouldnt be so bad if the combat was actually based on speed.. Like faster pokes take more actions. On the show (I stopped watching yeeears ago but still) some pokes will make two or three attacks before their opponent even gets a chance to take a fucking breath. If the games were like that, it would balance out using faster/weaker ones with slower/stronger ones
>The combat system is boring, and the Maps are to simple
What?! You talk about Bioshock like it is a grindy multiplayer game!
This game never was scary from the beginning because it never tried to be horror. Things that good are about this game are story and atmosphere. At least know what does a game wants to present then bash it.
The Nintendo 64 as a whole is pretty shit now. Excellent for its time and lots of nostalgia value, but that doesn't change how poorly it aged. Controllers are terrible, graphics are terrible, early attempts at controls in 3D environment are terrible.
The best redeeming quality I can think of really applies to all old consoles, and that's the lack of reliance on an internet connection. Plug and play.
You responded to the wrong person. You really can't do anything right, that's obvious considering you still haven't killed yourself yet. Alive and shit posting, your parents must be disappointed.
Star Wars Battlefront was pure cancer.
I've played games at professional level.. normally I don't like the slow adventure or mechanics that aren't fully optimal..
Basically anything that has to pump out a bunch of similar shit to stay relevant is not god tier, and are highly overrated
Are all games that stood the test of time and still hold replay valueand not just a niche fan base, but a general consensus
I own battleshock and still haven't tried it based on what seems to be an epic story that needs to be seen through by enduring basic fps mechanics gameplay, seems clunky at that
Halo 5 The Warden Eternal was literally Cortana's white knight cuck. Damn, warden, grow a pair. The ones bouncing off you ass don't count.
Well for it's time it was an absolutely amazing game. It's not the kind of game I go back and do multiple playthroughs on but I did a nostalgia run a while back and it a lot of fun.
FF7 is hyped for sure but it's still a great game deal with it bruh.
<This blew everyone's mind when it first came out but the gameplay never seemed that great to me.
Go yell at your mother to get your tendies, because soon son I'll take her away from you. I'll take her out to a nice fish dinner. She'll have a really good time, and then after a couple months of courting I'll propose. We'll set up a destination wedding, she'll fly out somewhere inconvenient dragging friends and family along. Then I'll stand her up at the alter, and crushing embarrassment and depression will lead to her suicide.
With no one to fetch your tendies you'll have to waddle into the kitchen yourself leaving less time for shit posting. Then and only then shall we have our peace.
Also your a nigger.
>things cant be good if they are old
>this sucks because its old and what we have now is better
>N64 wasn't a the first staple in 3D console gaming cause i wasnt around when it came out
Literally autistic pampered child
No Battlefield 2 was better. Then Project Reality modded it and it was even better.
To this day it is getting updated and a break away crew created Squad. It's pretty bad ass.
It's Pre-Alpha and I still feel I got better value for my dollar over BF4......
I came in to post that BF4 was over rated.
You can play this for free.
Or below for about $40 on Steam.
I think this is a typically Bioshock casual wannabe gamergirl
I think your trying to trick me into showing you my penis. Well not today bafty gay crasterd.
Don't know OPs story or age but he's right. FFVII sucked. 31 year old reporting in. VIII was much better, VI was also worlds better. Graphics don't even factor in. Story was junk, materia system paled in comparison to the Esper system and Junctions....only good thing to come out of FFVII was Vincent, Tifa porn, and One Winged Angel remixes.
I feel so sorry for you guys, I enjoyed a lot of the games that are being hated on. FFVII I played on release in 97 so I understand it's shitty these days. Some games stand the test of time but the graphics are painful as fuck now and the mechanics have been improved in later games. many of the newer games mentioned I've had a lot of fun with. I've been a gamer for 25 years and I'd rather be easily pleased than think I'm cool hating stuff other people like.
Which did you play first? I'm 31 too btw. ffVII was my first one and I played the rest in order. stopped enjoying them at 10 not sure if it was the games that changed or me but I've played 10-13 and not finished any of them.
>my favourite game wasn't mentioned in the entire thread
> story was junk
FF7 had a, widely accepted, incredible story. The characterisation was fantastic, each character had a point and a reason to be there. Compare that to 6? The story had a bit of everything, it was incredibly touching and created such an emotive atmosphere.
> junctioning better than Materia
Junctioning just basically meant, now I can't use the rarest / best magic because I need every last one for my character and don't wanna fuck his stats up. Drawing 100 spells for each thing was tedious and boring, it wasn't even like grinding, it was inane. I basically never used a GF, they just didn't compare to standard attacks. You could spam limit breaks by keeping your health in critical, and could beat virtually every single enemy in the game by spamming Zell's limit break. It was incredibly broken.
I did like 8, I also loved 6 (4, 9 and 10 also - the rest all dog shit), however 7 had that spark that created such a huge following. It flowed brilliantly, the story developed perfectly. The music was incredible and by far the best in the series. Materia was simplistic, but was exciting to get the new levels up in it.
It hasn't aged well, newbie gamers can't take to it for that reason, but at the time of release it was utterly groundbreaking - it's mini games were as good as full PS1 releases at the time, it's widely regarded as the greatest game of all time and I agree with it.
I don't believe we'll ever see a game have that sort of effect again, due to the money now involved in gaming, it's more about impressing the masses and appealing to their base instincts.
I was the same with 10 originally, play the remaster and work towards wanting to defeat penance and the dark aeons, it's an incredible challenge and game when you really get into it - I'd definitely put it up alongside the "classics".
HERE WE GOOOOO
>mfw you read it in his voice, dats how good it was
I literally don't get the hate for League.
Years ago nobody even knew this game was even a thing. It's popular now so people rip on it?
Agreed, SMW is a goddamn masterpiece with secrets upon secrets. Blows SM3 out of the goddamn water.
Lets see, Soda Lake, Star world and then the hidden fucking levels you get for beating star world.
