what is the best way to lose weight?
and why is it ketosis?
If you're working out why the fuck would you eat 1,000 calories a day?
Calories are just a measurement.
How hard is it for mainstream fags to get this simple concept?
Calories =/= Nutrition
Calories =/= weight loss or gain
Any dumb ass can starve themselves and deprive the body of what it requires to operate on a nominal level.
Don't forget that being obese is also considered nourishment because in general obesity is derived from the body desiring more food because it's not getting the nutrients it requires to operate daily. That's why fat people who go on shitty diets like jenny craigs and atkins and starve themselves have such a hard time actually losing weight.
Still poor in nutrition.
Diet and exercise are the short of it but make sure it's something you can live with. You want to make a lifestyle change, which means slower but steady weight loss that you can maintain. Cut out all obvious junk like fast food and soda. You'd be amazed at what just that one change will accomplish. And over time you'll hit a point where you don't even want shit food anymore.
Sorry but he didnt get shredded as fast as you might think. That looks like 3 or 4 years of crazy but steady work. Stay away from red meat. Get a good night sleep and eat right also lift weights. It build muscle and eats fat at the same time were as only cardio will lose fat. Umm also drink water gream tea..tuna is a good lean meat. Chicken breast..eggs..green stuff..fruit. Put the chips and soda down and all junk food and youll lose weigjt fast but your body is naturally addicted to those things especially sugar. A diet without sugar isbhard but effective.
About 6-8 months and he stuck to it to a tee, almost no any carbs or suger. Lost most of it pretty fast too. Use to wrap some spinach around a cooked egg with bacon for breakfast every day. After a while he started feeling a little weak and went to the doctors and they told him he made progress but needed to ditch it (by this time he lost about 80lbs) because his blood was turning acidic. Pro tip too, don't forget to take in some salt with your food too.
nope not true.
I ate 1200 calories a day and did weight lifts/cardio 3 times a week and lost about 15 kg in 2 months AND gained muscle in the process. The things is if you eat 1200 calories it HAS to be good food. Make your diet consist of 20 % fat , 40% protein and 40% Carbs. Follow this on a 1200 calorie diet + weight lifting/cardio 3 times a week and i guarantee you will lose weight and gain muscle.
cool, i might try this if it only takes 6 months to lose 100 pounds. I'm looking to lose around 50-60 pounds so should probably take 3-4 months?
But what if I ate normal foods instead of just fat and protein and ate at around 1000-1500 calories instead? Would I lose more weight faster doing 1000-1500 calories on ketosis or it's the same time for both non-ketosis and ketosis
Yeah, those too.
Also a good tip is to teach yourself to prepare hot foods when you're hungry, sans microwave or frozen pizza.
Basically, cooking a meal takes at least fifteen minutes, that's fifteen minutes of not eating followed by a snack/meal that leads to far greater satisfaction than chips or fast food can ever offer. You're guaranteed to eat less that way, and feel better.
>It turns your blood acidic
This is not true. If your blood's pH drops below 7, becoming acidic, and stays that way, you will die because the enzymes that are responsible for most of your body's functions cannot operate in an acidic environment. Therefore your blood's pH stays between 7.35 and 7.45.
forgot to add you have to do a calorie calculator there are a bunch of them online to know how much calories are Maintenance lvl for your height and weight and then eat 1000 calories below your maintenance.
Obviously acidosis, and in this case diet-induced ketoacidosis is a slippery slope when your doctor tells you that you're already pushing it. Intake some bicarbonate to offset the lower ph, like baking soda in pill form or antiacids too, but most importantly, stay hydrated.
It was pretty drastic I'd say, looked completely different once his body kicked it in about 2 months in. He'd loose like 10lbs a week, and he was my roommate so I saw it happen. Man did his shits smell though. Just make sure to check up with a doctor once I really starts working, said he could have damaged his liver if he went the whole way. Still has a minor diet of ketosis, slowing weaning in some fruits and veggies at the end. I'd say for any diet I've ever seen with zero excersie, if you stick with it, it works.
also 20% fat 60%protein 20% carbs works good too if you want even better results but it's a little harder since less carbs means less energy for exercise and generally throughout the day.
No, it isn't. Aerobics for hours every day, burn shitloads of calories. Strength building exercises won't have the same effect, if you had to pick one.
But, do both, Especially if your ass is starving, make sure your muscles don't weaken too much.
Used a keto diet before getting married. You burn between 1000-2000 just sleeping for eight hours. Keeping the calories below 2000 and drinking plenty of water means you cant gain weight (unless you're medically fucked) so any exercise is way more beneficial
I eat a ketogenic diet for the most part, althought I'm probably more at like 50g carbs a day sometimes but often much lower. Keto isn't fucking magic, it just keeps you fuller so you don't over eat. It comes down to how many calories you consume vs how many you spend and that's fucking it and you're an idiot if you think anything else dramatically plays into weight loss.
How tall? If your anywhere around 5'9-Above you probably don't need it. Its an extreme diet and often doesn't go well with working out. Just work out, that way you actually get positive results rather than just shedding weight and feeling weaker. Although, a minor diet cutting out most, not all, sugars and carbs may help anyways.
i'm 5'7 (manlet) and 210 pounds... so kinda overweight. And I don't feel like working out too much, I like the lean look. So I might just stick with doing ketosis and become auschwitz mode
like I said bro, it's all about calories in vs calories out. Eating a keto diet keeps me from snacking and eating shit food full of carbs. I may not be in full ketosis but I still get 99% of the benefits from it.
Like I said, keto isn't magic. It just helps you feel fuller so you don't over eat, and keeps you accountable from eating sugar and junk food. Don't fool yourself that it does anything else than that.
High protein, low carbs. No sugar (aside from small amounts of fruits and veg) No salt.
Eat any form of a processed food and your done for.
Do all this with calorie intake of less than 2k for a man and 1.5k for a woman and you sill slowly lose weight.
It will not be over night, it will take time, but you will keep it off and feel great while doing it.
That's really all you need to do.
Your recommendations are all over the place, man. Fruit is not central to a low carb diet. You could get away with some blueberries, maybe, but thats about it. And no red meat? On a low carb diet? Hahaha. On keto your fats need to be high, and one of the best sources is red meat. Dairy is far worse. Eating tuna and chicken as your protein sources on low carb is a terrible idea.
You just almost the same thing I said.
I said calories are not the same as nutrition so yeah eat lower calories but make sure what you're taking in what the body needs to take care of itself.
But 1,000? Really? You're literally just limiting yourself there after a certain point. Losing weight because tubby sure I agree. But after that's gone up cal intake.
Shut up baitFAG.
Go back to being some fat whore who sucks cock for love.
On keto your fats need to be high, and one of the best sources is red meat. Dairy is far worse. Eating tuna and chicken as your protein sources on low carb is a terrible idea.
All of that is actually wrong. High fat isn't required on a low carb diet, but an adequate amount will be the only way you feel full. Dairy doesn't matter but some people stay away from it. Tuna and chicken is still protein and isn't bad on a low carb diet.
On Ketosis for 1 month now. 6 feet. 285 at start.
> Weightlifting 3 times per week
> 60 min. cardo each day, min.
> 2000 calorie deficit per day.
> Went from 285 to 257 today.
> Lost over 25 pounds
> Still a lot to loose but on Ketosis, that's a joke right now.
Death to carbs
R AMERICANS really fat?
I mean like this pic, is this a COMMON? Cute face and fat body?
Ketosis is more or less a thing because for some people they get more energy than a regular diet once they're past the 48 hour mark. I personally like to run a regular diet with a big caloric deficit and weight training 2 days in a row 1 day rest and so on. I may do cardio on rest days if I need to be leaner by the weekend but becareful because cardio will make you soooooo hungry
Obviously, by being a good goyim and going to the gym. Make sure to purchase some protein bars and get some tubs of protein and whey as well. Remember, there's NO way to get fit unless you spend your hard earned shekels at the gym.
And as long as you don't do ridiculous near starvation diets where you drop 100's of pounds in a short amount of time. The problem of course is that fat people don't just want to lose weight, they want to lose weight FAST.
Try eating 1500 calories a day without subtracting for cardio. Cardio shouldn't be ever counted toward your daily deficit goal. Going from that weight 25pounds is pretty decent but I'm sure you can hit 30/35 a month easy
Between 5 and 10, not 100 you hyperbolar cunt.
I already have a large and muscular build. 0% body fat is ~180 pounds, as of now. Should be around 200 when I'm done in a few months.
I just let the last few years get the best of me.
>It works for me.
So I can just arbitrarily make up my own facts and claim they work because stuff I do on the side actually work? I can also play that game
>YOU HAVE TO EAT 500 POUNDS OF BROCCOLI EVERY DAY OR YOU'RE DONE FOR
Hey, it works for me.
Calories in calories out. Simple. For people that say it does not work I ask you - have you seen any fat dead jew in Nazi war camp photos? Me neither. So there.
Low calories does NOT require for you to be hungry all the time tho. Just to eat food that has low calories. If you are constantly hungry you will NOT make it.
So in conclusion: Eat a lot of greens like broccoli and salad. Stuff yourself with this things. Even if it's high in volume, it's very low in calories. AVOID fats since 1 teaspoon of oil has the same calorie content as a bowl of salad. Don't overdo it tho ... you need some fats to digest vitamins. BUT as low as possible.
Sugar: Non refined only (which means fruit). AND only before your workout. Have a fruit salad and sweet fruit bar, then go on a jog, or walk, or bycicle. Also do weight lifting atleast once a weak, otherwise you might lose muscle mass instead of fat (you calorie restrict afterall).
for nutritional purposes also consult doctor so you know how much minimum fat/carbs you must get to survive. Don't go over minimum, and eat greens instead.
In order to truly effectively lose weight you'll need
>$1000 gym membership
>And my $500 e-book telling you to stop eating at McDonalds
You guys dont know a shit about losing weight or diets, its so fucking hilarious, all these fucking comments, and all are just shit.
Only a double nigger will believe any of the shit you are talking about.
Ketosis can be used short term and is v effective, but you'll probably find it easier running a calorie deficit and sticking with limited carbs if you're training. Heavy weight sets will get results faster than cardio, and all cardio should be HIIT. Eat approx 1500 cals everyday and up to 2000 on training days. Put in the graft and you'll lose in no time.
it was an exaggeration you moron.... are you always this fucking dense? You must have no friends.
On a diet that makes use of ketosis, fats absolutely cannot be "low", especially if working out liberally. Thats what leads to gluconeogenesis and even protein poisoning. "Moderate" fat can work, but never low, at least not for anything remotely approaching an extended period of time.
Actually it changes how your body processes energy, increasing the rate that your body will naturally burn fat.
Of course if you eat more than you burn you will not lose weight but you will lose it faster in ketosis than you would otherwise. The gainz suck though since you have to eat so much fat.
Nah people can lose weight really well on keto diets. In a high fat keto diet feelings of satiety are increased, insulin (i.e. fat storage) drops, and metabolism increases. There are studies showing calorie unrestricted keto diets outperforming restricted high carb diets for weight loss.
This is currently what I do. What kind of bike do you have?
I haven't moved into weights and building muscle yet either. I haven't done it since I was in high school and don't remember the first thing about it.
Aha I understand cuz they are still cute though they are fat. Then are fat girls love black guys too?
the guy on the right looks like he's fighting a turtle head and losing. kek
I'm currently on the HMR diet. I've lost 30lbs in a month so far and still am going strong. It's basically controlled food portions, with 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day. I also started going to the gym 3 days a week to train with a personal trainer. All that and i'm only drinking water.
Losing weight is pretty simple you just have to be able to take that first step and avoid temptation. As with any addiction, there will always be an excuse. You just have to say NO.
yes but then you are kind of stalling the ketosis. cuz it needs to burn off those carbs and then goes back to burning the fat... where as if you had only fats it wouldnt change to burning carbs then go to fats, it would stay at burning fats
I think it has more to do with black guys aspire to fuck white women. White guys usually hate fat women so the only guys that will fuck the fat white women are the black guys.
It's like a trophy for them. They don't care how big they are cause they're to used to all their black women being fat anyways.
Read the new research that was based on the Biggest Loser contestants (and others).
Apparently once you gain, then lose through diet, your body keeps trying to pull you back to the heavy weight. You end up having to eat way less than a man the same size who has never been heavier, so you're always hungry, and most people can only put up with that for a few months, at best. That's why everyone gains back weight.
so what? OK let me tell you this way: Eat ONE egg and ONE piece of bacon, then be hungry all day. It WILL work ... ofc. But you're hungry all the time.
Stuff yourself with greens and you will have exact same calories BUT will not be hungry. It'll also work. You still need minimum fat to digest vitamins tho ....
Think - Hugh Jackman ate cardboard - yes FUCKING cardboard to lose weight for one of his movies. Some ppl eat even grass (lol but real) and female models are known to stuff themselves with ice cubes. Idea is the same: High volume - low calories. But eating salad or broccoli might be more digestible and healthy ... idk - you can try cardboard and post results I guess....
No, it doesn't. They're burned at the same time unless you eat enough carbs to actually shut down the ketogenesis pathway. For a beginner that's about 20g. If you're experienced or using MCT oil it's around 30.
All I know is that I've been on keto for a little over 2 months and am down 60 pounds. Energy levels are consistent and don't yoyo because I'm not a slave to the cycle that a carb based diet results in. My body is adapted to burning fat and has a constant fuel source. No highs. No crashes. Just a nice even energy level. Feelsgoodman.
>becoming lighter by lifting
>muscle weighs more than fat
>building muscle to decrease your weight
>explaining this retardation a 4th time in the same post with a different wording
Yes moderate fat is good. which is what I said.
I've done keto or low carb for 2+ years and it's a great way to eat and seem very clear headed with good energy throughout the day. But yeah I always feel better working out with some carbs in the system.
ok so chug a glass of lard. Or eat butter with spoon.... you won't eat less food just because it's high on fat lol. It's volume of your stomach which dictates hunger. When you'r empty you'll be hungry.
Like I said before - this is reason Hugh Jackman eate cardborad prior to filming x-men. Not butter.
I have a 2015 Specialized Allez, road bike. I try to do about 15 miles a day as many days out of the week I can fit it in and track it all with the Strava App for improvement.
It's a great App. You should check it out.
keto and eating under 2000 calories a day OP, 170lb down 1 year 2 months. Also you don't have to exercise at all if your lazy as fuck like me. Anybody who claims exercise is needed for weight loss is a retard
People have lost weight eating nothing but mcdonalds and twinkies dip shit. it's all about calories you consume vs calories you expend. Obviously not a very healthy diet but people have done it
>But yeah I always feel better working out with some carbs in the system.
If you're doing any anaerobic exercise (sprinting, hypertrophy or power lifting) you NEED carbs to perform at 100%. Took a lot of banging my head against a wall for me to accept this lol.
what is the best way to gain weight? go to gym and eat alot?
I guess you can't fucking read either because that's not what I said. Eat at a caloric deficit retard, that's all that matters. Just saying there are healthier ways to do that.
If I eat 100 calories of cardboard I won't be ever hungry. I'll be so stuffed that idk if it's possible to get any calories out of it. I'll have low energy YES but hungry? NO.
Eating 100 cals of butter - I'll be still hungry.
Stop the bullshit, spread this guide.
very slow.... in fact it dosen't. you'll shit most of it out. But you'll have full stomach...
This is extreme example - I don't recomend it lol. But some ppl did it. hell some ppl got infected with parasites BY CHOICE to lose weight.
Yep if you fill yourself up with low fat foods you will feel full... For about an hour and a half.
You seem to be under the illusion that we're talking about eating pure fat. Think instead of a prime rib and broccoli cooked in olive oil.
play fall out all day an work out when ever theirs a load screen
ofcourse. But if you are obese you need to fool your body at least a litle. That's why I said it's also good to visit nutritionist - so you know the minimum ammount of fats/vitamins/carbs etc. you need, and not go over that limit.
Thing is fat ppl are hungry even AFTER they got their mandatory fats/vitamin/nutrient needs fulfilled. That's why it's best to eat "empty" food after that minimum (empty as in low calories).
Nit that guy, your body burns calories while lifting at quite a high rate, you also then burn more calories as your body repairs itself and burn more calories/ has a higher base line of calorie burn because you have more mass to maintain. That's why body builders eat a fuck tonne and drink protein shakes ontop.
It's pretty basic, you are just wrong.
I'm on a lean bulk with high carbs, just a bit over 3k calories a day with 1 or 2 low cal (2.4k) days. On 3k days I eat 340 grams of carbs and on 2.4k days 235 grams of carbs. I've been doing this for 5 months with steady lean gains, putting on weight every week with a visible six pack still.
Well, hamplanets are actually trying to look cute nowadays.
It's just crazy to see as a child that most every single fat person was an adult, like old. Now kids are taking the lead. And yeah, plenty of guys and girls can easily look like this. Just with a more serious, "I'm disappointed in myself" smile.
You can eat whatever you want if you work out HELLA hard every day. I've been in wrestling for many years, that shit will make you lose weight no matter what. But if you are a puss or don't have the time then just eat chicken breasts and spinach and work out as much as possible.
Sometimes, when I eat lots of carbs and little to no fat, I feel like Lord Xenu wants to kill me with a hydrogen bomb. I swear I can hear his DC-8 flying above me, high in the sky, lurking...watching....waiting.
Just started keto today. This was my lunch. That's some dried smoked sausage. Not pictured is a bowl of spinach and kale with minimal low carb dressing. How am I doin /b/?
Muscle is more dense than fat, not heavier you fucking retard, not to mention fat doesn't magically turn into muscle.
You could certainly do with losing some of that fat between your ears.
Pic is you. Keep mirin virgin
Thanks. I also just bought pic related. Going to grill it all tonight and prep some meals for the next week or so.
Avacados are a great add. Quick fat and taste awesome. Theyre cheap enough too. Where I sho they're always on sale for like a buck a piece. So I grab about 10 and eat two a day with meals.
So let me get this straight...
If I go on a diet that is low on carbs, and I work out 3 times a week, I can lose fat and gain muscle?
Or am I just losing fat?
I want to lose fat and build at the same time.
I'm 6ft and I weigh about 180lbs.
Tbh for lifting you shouldn't use a keto diet. Eat low glycemic index carbs.
If you're new to lifting you may be able to gain muscle and lose fat simultaneously, but you'll be more successful bulking and cutting.
Yeah. I agree with this anon. To build muscle you want high protein. But on keto you're body will turn excess amounts of protein to glucose and store it. So if you want bulk don't do keto at the same time.
Depends on your muscle mass. If you build a lot of muscle, that shit will suck up calories to repair itself, grow, and make glycogen. The anaerobic metabolism that generates force for power or hypertrophy lifting is also less efficient so it uses a lot more caloric energy for the same output. This is one reason why keto is bad for lifting, ketones are aerobic fuel.
Ideally you should do both though.
>Calories =/= weight loss or gain
Right. Except obesity researcher Stephen Guyenet, PhD has conclusively stated that calories are far and away the single most important factor in weight loss or gain. And he's literally dedicated his life to researching the subject. And you're a random fucking idiot on the internet.
It's not really ideal on keto, but you can keep it low intensity and be fine. A leisurely jog or brisk walking pace is ideal. I think heart rate of around 130 is what people consider the sweet spot.
>I ate 1200 calories a day and did weight lifts/cardio 3 times a week and lost about 15 kg in 2 months AND gained muscle in the process.
What were you eating? I was thinking of eating nothing but Special K for breakfast and chicken with some kind of vegetable for lunch and dinner while working out hard all summer. I think it's doable, but I'm curious to hear what others did to be successful.
>lost about a 100lbs while playing DOTA all day, no lie.
>About 6-8 months and he stuck to it to a tee, almost
How exactly did he induce this ketosis thing?
I had no idea purposely fcking with blood glucose was a thing. god damn people are stupid. Eat a balanced diet, drink fucking water instead of coke, and exercise. Shit isn't that difficult.
>60 min. cardo each day, min.
Do you have any trouble with hard workouts without any carbs in your diet? I have a friend who is a personal trainer and a was a fairly serious martial artist, and he swears by having at least a small amount of carbs in your diet to burn during strenuous exercise.
