The craziest thing I had to deal with in the two years I have been working as overnight was a lady that was helped by another guard right before shift change. So we became my problem as well as his. While all this happened the missing person's report came in. Apparently she was mentally ill and had wandered off.

Check out the websites of the main big companies in the us. I'm guessing American? All you need is a HS diploma. Do keep in mind that your experience may vary. I got very lucky, I had military service, and some nepotism on my side.
Check out sites for securitas, AlliedBarton and whatever else is big. And just apply. The process is easy, but for some reason not may people apply.
Also bear in mind that it depends where you end up working, and you may have to slog it out with shitty posts for a year or two. Take up whatever days you can work and overtime from times to time to get in good with your supervisor. That way you get to hear more about possible positions to move up to.
Really is an easy process. The pay isn't anything to write home about, but it's a living wage, and if you luck out, you'll get a lax as fuck post.
